Bad timing. It was warranty job. It was late of a Friday. They need some new parts but they could not get the motor we needed. They had to take a motor from a different system. This cost me 400 even though it was a warranty job. It was a good job but the price was what made me upset with me.

Called five different companies for bids and received prices from $2700 to $4500. Settled on Ellington because of their Angie's List reputation, their professional response to all of my requests, and a fairly competitive bid that included the anti-microbial materials without it being an additional add-on cost as in some of the other bids. Mrs. Ellington called and scheduled the work as promised and everything was completed according to schedule and as agreed upon. All work was excellent quality with attention to detail and everything was cleaned up and/or replaced when the work was done. All of the staff was very courteous and professional and they took care not to damage anything and to keep the dust to a minimum.

The fan in my outside unit was screeching fiercely-- I thought it needed to be replaced. Because of the many, many positives this firm received, I called them on Sunday. They returned my call and graciously put me on their sched for Monday morning. The tech showed up ("J.R.") and did a thorough review of my system. He gave me a written estimate of $480 (!) for the fan motor-- $412 (!) if I signed up and paid $119 (for the first year and $119 every year thereafter) for the annual service which entailed me to a discount. Folks-- this is a 1/5 horsepower fan the size of a softball. Later I called a competitior (Lohaus Air Conditioning & HTG) who quoted me $175 installed. When Dennis Lohaus inspected my unit, he found the motor needed lubricating but was fine-- the bearings had no play in them, it was not damaged in any way. He found a lubrication "vein" on the underside, applied oil and it was fine. I am sure Ellington does good work but the pricing I was given was exhorbitant and I am disappointed they did not find how to lubricate and save a perfectly usable motor. It certainly seemed that they were steering me to enroll in the annual service plan and/or buy a completely new system. I admit we are approaching the end of the life for the system, but everything works, it doesn't leak and I maintain the filter. I think I can get at least another year or two or three out of this system. Lohaus charged me $65-- a long ways from $480. 2/26/2013. I spoke to the owner of Ellington and he did, in fact, send me a check. Wow. I'm impressed! Thank you!!! (see below).

iSee above. It was easy breezy and went off with out and hitches. We could not have asked for a better company to help us out. They are the ones we will always use in the future. MY only regret is not being able to submit this review sonner. I am so sorry for that.
