Jon arrived on time after calling ahead to inform me he was on his way. he was through-changed a problematic overflow protection switch, replaced batteries in thermostat, and cleaned A/C coil-and completed system maintenance within two hours.

They did an excellent job. I had a few problems after the installation and they came out and repaired them very quickly.

The air conditioning system in my house is a train wreck. I had several other companies out to determine the best way to efficiently cool my house. Ellington provided a solution that, though expensive, would give me the cooling I needed without completely tearing out and rebuilding ductwork. They worked with me financially to allow me to install the systems in two stages. The first stage I commented on earlier, and that just provided the justification to finish the job. The second stage involved installing a mini-split system in four rooms. One of the rooms has no outside wall, and that posed serious problems. Ellington personnel (Dolph, Steve and Leo) worked together and determined a way to install the system quickly and they were able to do the job with minimum cuts/holes to the house. They removed the old ductwork and provided me with a small crawl space/storage space where there was none before. They had to cut a hole in the hallway ceiling and they did an outstanding carpentry job in fashioning a scuttle hatch for future use. They kept me informed at all stages and offered me many suggestions along the way. They kept the area clean while my grandson was around. All in all, they were the most professional crew I have had visit my house, period. The work was done well within their allotted time (three days to do the work, it took them two). I can't say enough about how well they did their job. And the system they provided is absolutely fantastic.

John Page is a gem and really knows his product. He sold us on Trane's best XL 20i heat pump with two compressors. We also had all ductwork cleaned and sanitized and hed them install a UV air purifier. We have had virtually no sickness this season (yet) even with two grandkids living with us, bringing home their daily dose of germs from school. The crew showed up on time, worked long hours to do all they had promised, cleaned everything inside and out, left no trash, were courteous, efficient and professional. We had other quotes from Trane dealers, and all seemed professional. We chose Ellington because they are large enough to provide 24 hour service and a crew that could complete the job quickly, although others promised one-day service. They cleaned all duct work including dryer (for a cost), but I thing it was worth it. We have noticed a vast improvement in our dryer's ability to get clothes dry the first time around. The only qualification is the price. From $2000 17 years ago to about $10,000 for a heat pump today (even with incentives like FPL) seems a big jump, but probably in line with inflation. We appreciated the deal of 0% financing so we could afford this. Now for the roof...

This call could not have gone any better. Ron the service tech could not have been any nicer. He kept us informed of his every step and offered my husband was welcome to watch. We feel this is a good company and we plan to use them from now on. Ron is such an asset to them.

The service technician called ahead to let me know he would be arriving earlier than the time window stated when the appointment was set. Again, the technician called in advance and verified it would be okay to come early. The technician was knowledgeable about the a/c system (outdoor/indoor units) and identified concerns with respect to the amount of Temperature Differential, subcooling, Superheat measurements were not nominal. Identified Motor/Blade was leaking, the contactors condition needed work, etc. All items that were easily repairable. The Technician left everything in good clean condition. ***Update 3/11/2014, I had the Field Charger replaced and still have the blinking default lights. Jason Ellington reached out to me personally on 12/18/13 after the original service date. I was able to speak with him for a good 1/2 hour to explain my concern that the part recommended being changed did not clear the lights. Jason was knowledgeable and quick to help me resolve the issue by working directly with Trane to get the correct parts. I could not have asked for better customer service. While I am only having issues with Trane equipment I appreciate Ellington AC and Heat dealing with the part manufacturer to help bring my system back online.

This review is for my experience getting a quote on a Trane air conditioner install. I did not go with them, so cannot comment on the quality of their workmanship. What I can review is my experience with their salesman. I say salesman because unlike the other companies I talked to, the person Ellington sent to me was clearly there to get the most money he could. He had a slick book full of pictures, complaints about other companies, and a one size fits all pricing scheme. I had already made up my mind that I was going to go with Trane's top system, the XL20, but not with all the bells and whistles offered. I was given a price, already prepared in his book, for Trane's top system with additions such as their top thermostat which connects to the internet, among others. I know for a fact that this is much more expensive than what I was looking for. I also did not want the top air handler that uses digital signals, another significant cost factor. The price he gave me was at least $1000 over what I got from others for what I wanted. When I asked how much the price was without the extra things I did not want, I was floored that this salesman said the price was the same, regardless of options. He even said this with a straight face as if it was a benefit! I wasn't born yesterday and this blatant attempt to upsell me smacked of dishonesty in this company, so much so that they were eliminated almost immediately from consideration. Like I said, I can't speak to their workmanship since I did not use them. However, I would encourage anyone considering them to shop around. I did and found a better price for exactly what I wanted. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO JASON ELLINGTON I had asked specifically about the TAM7 and your person did not say Ellington wouldn't install it. He said the price was the same. Yes the TAM8 allows for finer adjustments but the TAM7 is adjustable. I researched this pretty thoroughly and had made the decision that the difference to me was not worth the extra cost. I now have two XL20i's with TAM7 and am happy with both of these. Also, I did not care for the digital thermostat that communicates with the internet but was offered no price break with the simpler one that still controls humidity.

I used Ellington 2 years ago for service and had excellent result. Ellington has done regular maintenance since. It has been working.

Work was completed in a timely manner. All repairs were explained and given cost breakdown.

Service rep showed up on time and was very professional.
