Description of Work: Tom at Elite AC provided a wealth of information prior to the purchase of my Trane XR15 Weathertron system. Great service at time of installation - 3 trucks at my door on the day they scheduled! Larry Hardin was helpful as Tom's lead, HOWEVER, I was told he would come back out and replace my return grill that he busted. Additionally, the front access panel leaked air and Larry placed foil tape across it which has since peeled back. When I tried to call Elite, I was redirected to Altman A/C. I called Altman and left all the information with them and nobody called me back. When I followed up with them two weeks later they said they could come out and take a look at it however they would charge me $30 just to look at the problem. As this is a brand-new system and was put in less than a year ago, I had hoped that they would take over as promised by Tom, but my concerns came true. I contacted Ellington and they wanted to charge me $93 just to look at my unit. They could put caulk over the gaps to solve the problem. I called Quality AC on Melbourne and they did they work under warranty and billed it back to Trane (as should have been done). Also, Ellington does duct cleaning which in my opinion is a snake-oil waste of time and money.

We are sorry you feel that way. I am a little confused on the "F" rating since we never installed, serviced, or repaired the unit. HAD WE installed the system, we warranty all of our systems for 5 YEARS. Typically these problems stem from installation deficiencies which are NOT covered by a manufacturer warranty. If a contractor is willing to falsify documents to get something covered that is their option. When we perform an installation we check the pressure in the duct system upon completion to ensure either you don't have this problem or you are aware of the problem. We also set the fan speed to match the system selection and the associated ducting. We believe in being honest with not only our customers but our vendors as well. As far as duct cleaning, we OFFER duct cleaning we don't force people to purchase duct cleaning. Since many of our customers inquire about duct cleaning we feel as if its important to offer the service. Also included in our diagnostic fee that you were not happy with includes a full check of your system not just to look at your immediate problem so we can avoid problems like what you are experiencing. Some people think waxing their car is "snake oil", I guess in the end its up to each individual to decide if they want to protect their investment or not. If there is dirt / dust in your house and their is dust that got past your air filter in your unit, then there is also dirt / dust in your ducts.
