Response from Ellington Air Conditioning & Heat
I don't appreciate the false claim, however I do take responsibility for anything we have ever done. Funny there is no mention of us refunding the money...hmmm. The facts are we did in fact make a mistake. We misdiagnosed the unit having a faulty start capacitor when in fact the actual capacitor is what made the start capacitor go bad from excessive amp draw, so a partially correct asessment but we should have tested the unit further, it was getting late that evening and the weather was less than cooperative, but at any rate the responsibility still is and should be on us. An HONEST mistake, but non the less a mistake. I refunded the customers money (left the parts on) not because I was asked to refund all of it, but because it was the right thing to do. In a circumstance if we do make a mistake, which is rare but does happen, I tell everyone here, lets make it right. I agree in a perfect world there should be no mistakes, but the fact of the matter is WE ALL make them. When is the last time any company sent you a full refund for a service because they made a mistake?...for me as a consumer the answer would be never...so actually I think we stood up accepted the responsibility and did the right thing. I do realize people get frustrated and sometimes lash out emotionally even when they are treated with respect, however I felt it was necessary to at least depict the facts of the accusations.
