Ellington Air Conditioning & Heat

After having my fill of another contractor that consistently flaked out on appointments, I contacted Ellington based upon reviews from Angie's List. Despite this being a very busy time of year for anyone in their industry, someone was quickly dispatched to my home and troubleshot the system. I was impressed at how efficiently they tied up the loose ends that the previous contractor left that I set up an annual maintenance contract with Ellington on the spot.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Ellington A/C and Heat. Jason is very honest, knowledgable and discussed several different options with us before we decided on the unit we went with. He was able to provide us with an estimate on the date of the primary consultation. (We had few companies that took several weeks to get back to us). Jason also gave us some tips to try to help with cooling issues we were having in one room prior to Ellington replacing our unit and before having additional work done. Many companies would have eagerly quoted us, gone ahead with the work whether we needed it or not, and gladly taken our $$, but not Jason. He told us to try a few things and if they did not work then would could look at other options. I cannot state enough that both Jason and his staff were extremely professional and did an excellent job in exceeding our expectations. We are so very happy with the A/C unit they installed and would not change a thing. Our house is so much cooler and the unit does not have to work hard at all, even today with the heat index being over 100 degrees, Our electric bill is lower too :-). I would recommend Ellington A/C and Heat to anyone looking for a new unit or existing repairs. They are an A++++++ company.

The service was nearly immediate, as I had called Ellington complaining that my a.c. was not cooling properly and the house was very humid. They came that day to evaluate the chronic problems I had been having with the system as it had been installed by a previous contractor. A proposed system to alleviate the cooling issues was given to me along with informational brochure and a website to consult. I decided to go with their suggestion and was thrilled w/their service. They showed up on time (actually 15 minutes early), loved my huge dogs, so I didn't have to put the dogs in daycare, completed the entire job in one day. Included in the work was cutting through plaster to insert the new return, and though I expected dust as a result, they cleaned so well as they were working, that there was no dust nor mess left. As I have an older home, I was interested in keeping anything added to the ceiling in the vintage style, and the owner went out of his way to find and show me pictures of new but vintage looking vents, even though it was going to be located on the ceiling. I was very impressed by their professionalism, cleanliness, and staff. I signed up with them to come yearly to maintain my system and will continue to recommend them to friends.Ellington is one of the best companies I have dealt with in Brevard County.

They were professional. I did have a few problems because we weren't given an estimate before they started the work which really bothered us. This company got very high ratings, so maybe our expectation was too much. When my husband came back from work I told him they didn't give me an estimate and so we went there and asked them how much it was going to be. The gentlemen told us that he hadn't written it as yet and when they finished the work the price was high but they gave us a ten percent discount coupon as well. I was told he would be here between a particular time and that he would call before he came but he didn't call up although he was here between the said time. 05/20/11 Edited to include the following: I received a card with an apology plus a gift card for a restaurant from the owner of this business yesterday. He said that this is not the way that they usually do business and had discussed the incident with the individual who also apologized. I will take him at his word and believe that he truly does care about satisfying the consumer since he took the time and effort to figure out who I was and to hand write an apology.

I am SO happy with my new air conditioner, and was extremely impressed with Ellington's service. The entire process went very well, from the original estimate through completion of the inspection. Jason Ellingon arrived promptly for the estimate, and was very attentive and responsive as I described the demise of my existing A/C as well as things I hoped would be improved with a new AC. (My 13 year old air conditioner had always been too loud, didn't seem to cool as well as it should, and was causing increasingly high electric bills). I had already gotten one estimate on a replacement system. I was so impressed with Jason's expertise and satisfied with the price for the quality of the units he suggested that I signed the contract on the spot. Installation day shortly followed, and I was amazed as I watched Jason and his team spend all day doing a very thorough, careful, expert job of installing the new system into my 48 year old house. My house has an unusual setup for its airconditioning, and Danial Daugherty did some very creative engineering to install the inside unit. He essentially rebuilt the space, and did a beautiful job! They proactively added parts (such as a new electrical outlet for the inside unit) and provided high quality solutions whenever they encountered issues, without adding to the original quoted price. They returned twice after the original installation, once for an issue I called about and once to fix an issue that they noticed. Both times, they were prompt and efficient. Of course my new AC system passed inspection with flying colors. With this unusually warm weather in March, I've been able to try it out and am very pleased. It is quiet when operating, both inside and out. I'm anticipating significantly lower A/C bills this summer! I would highly recommend Ellington A/C & Heat to anyone wanting a quality system and a quality, enjoyable service experience. They are Fantastic, that is why we used them again. They quoted us a price last year when installing the main unit, and they stood true to that estimate. We had them back when the weather was cooler to do the attic work. They are on time, they are CLEAN (this is a big deal to me) They are also some of the nicest, most trustworthy people we know. You will not find a company that does more and is honest. We have had 4 different companies work on our air condition in the 10 years we have lived here. 2 companies did us a big disservice, the others just didn't meet our expectations like Ellington. I do not have to look around anymore. This is the card I will pull year after year if I need anything. Honestly though from the job that has been done, I don't I expect I will need to call them that often. We have been very happy!

We have used Ellington AC and Heat in the past to instal our unit and do routine maitenence. They are always very professional and do a wonderful job. They always respond in a timely matter and are always on time. I have referred many friends and family to them.

Mr. Ellington and his workers arrived on time and were very professional from start to finish. They were courteous and very efficient. They came to work, and work they did. The whole installation took a day. It looks and works wonderfully. I was especially impressed with the way my home looked after they were finished. You would not have know they were ever there. One of the best experiences I have ever had with an installation company. They not only finished the job on time, but it is absolutely perfect; even the inspector was impressed with the quality of the work. Jason, Dan and Steve, the installers, were professional and thorough and they even replaced some roof and hot water vents at no cost that were not a part of the job. I have recommended them to everyone I know. I didn't get other estimates, but the cost seemed more than reasonable to us.

From estimate to instllation Jason and his staff were professional. They went the extra mile to explain AC systems, choices, installation and care of systems. Nice to know a company and staff still care about their customers.

We purchased a home in Grand Isle in April of 2010. Ellington A/C & Heat was asked to evaluate the condition of the existing A/C Unit. Dolph Stretchert came to the house and spent a lot of time making sure the unit was working properly. On December 6th the unit quit heating properly and Dolph came to locate the problem. He determined that the compressor failed due to an oil leak in the accumulator and suggested that a new outside unit was the best option to fix the problem. The next day the new unit was installed and is working perfectly. We highly recommend Ellington and Dolph if you need A/C or Heating service.

Jason was very prompt in giving an estimate. He assessed my existing AC and offered ways that Icould improve efficiency,comfort and savings. After agreeing to have him do the install, he did everything he said he would doand more than I expected. The FPL duct inspector commented on how well the install was done.

Jason provided the best price out of 4 other companies, got the old system working for a long holiday weekend in advance of the new system installation, and completed the work with pride as scheduled. Jason does not nickel and dime and will get the installation done as quoted, even if unexpected changes are found. In my case, a new power line was run in order to change the location of the air handler. Jason proved to be very knowlegeable and honest - somebody I would trust in my house when away - in addition to his employees. If you need new A/C, call him. Don't get fooled by the other crooks with smiles on their faces in the area.

Jason was very knowledgeable, on time, had a great personality, was a hard worker and prompt. He is honest and his work is wonderful. They would recommend him.

My a/c went out on Friday Oct. 1. I previously had always used Durham and Son's so I called them but after poor service and rude treatment and being told they didi not need my businees I called Ellington Air & Heat. Ellington came out on October 5. It was explained to me very clearly the benefits of replacing my unit over repairing it. Jason wrote out an estimate, including a discount for using Angie's list and FPL rebate. I decided to replace my a/c. On the following Friday, Oct 8 Ellington came out and replaced my unit. They were professional, prompt, courteous. They did not disappoint and I recommend if you're in need of a/c or heating service to use Ellington Air & Heat

Excellent. Very professional courteous crew. Arrived on time - completed on time. Top-notch installation. All forms for rebates, warranty, etc. properly filed out and submitted. Old units and construction trash removed. When they left you couldn't tell they were here.

I called Ellington on Friday late in the morning and Jason called me back within a couple of hours. I told him my AC drain probably got backed up and, hence, was the reason why my AC was only blowing hot air. He gave me tips on how to clean out the drain myself. I believe most other AC repair companies wouldn't have done that. Well, unfortunately, I had bigger issues. When I went outside to clean it out, I noticed the blower wasn't even moving so I called Jason and asked him to come check it out. He came within a few hours and diagnosed a rusty old capacitor was maybe the culprit so he replaced it. When that didn't work, he finally had to replace to motor. Jason Ellington was very straight forward with the services provided. He came to the house twice and serviced my older unit with no charge. Very honest about condition of old unit and price of new one, I never felt pressured or overwhelmed. His crew was prompt, professional, and very courteous, I would HIGHLY recommend anyone in the Brevard County area to use Ellington AC & Heat for all of their AC needs.

My AC started to act up in the middle of the hot Florida summer. I was recommended to Jason Ellington by a family friend. He came out to try and fix my unit and got it running again but told me it was in need of replacement. Jason did not charge me for the time to fix my old unit even though he came the same day I called from 25 minutes away. When I decided to get a new unit Jason was able to install it within 3 days of my decision. He came out to my house personally twice during the day to check on the progress of the work. His crew was very nice and welcoming, Jason and his crew hung around until all of my questions were answered and I had a full understanding of the equipment. I am recommending Ellington AC & Heat to anyone in the area that needs work, A+ for service and quality!

The team arrived at 8am the next morning and got right to work. By 4pm our house was so much more comfortable. The owner was supervising the install team most of the time they were here, but it really wasn't needed because the two of them were just great. They cleaned up after themselves perfectly. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area.
