The drain was moved, but other than that the quality of the work was very poor. Grout lines were as large as 1/2 inch. The shower wall is not plumb. Ceiling does not match existing ceiling. Doors, trim, walls, etc. were poorly done, not painted, and not even paint ready. I provided all of the material and did most of the demo work. I found that the license holder was someone other than anybody I worked with at Doors by Tim. When issues arose the answer, from Tim was "we are only human" or "we do our best" . I wish I was told that prior to hiring them! I knew that the cost contracted was on the high end, but I expected an exceptional product at the end.....and I received far from that.
Description of Work: I hired Bathrooms by Tim (aka Doors by Tim) to do a complete bathroom remodel. It entailed moving a shower drain, building out two closets and the remodel.

The full glass doors were to be white. They came with white trim but the frames were unfinished not even primed. When questioned about it after they were installed he said that surprised him as well that I could paint them or hire someone to paint them. I asked for a $100 discount to hire a painter. The barn door for the laundry was hung fine and he patched the wall but again no paint. of trim, door or wall. The security door there were 3/4 inch gaps top and bottom around the frame for bugs to get. Said he would come back to weather strip but never showed. Worst part was the lockset on the security door was mounted upside down so the only way to open the door was to lift up on the handle. I called to have that fixed but they never came or never returned my call. Two months later the locket broke and we could not get out of the house through that door. When I looked at it I found all the mounting screw heads had been stripped and they had used decking screws to attach the face plate to the lock set stripping all the threads. While putting in the decking screws they snapped the head off one of the screws so they glued the screw head in place to hide the damage. I stopped at the company to complain, had to leave a message with the office. Never returned my call. I drilled out the bad screws just to get the lockset off and replaced it myself.
Description of Work: Ordered two full glass doors with interior blinds for interior barn door to be installed in den. Install new barn door in laundry. Install screen door in rear and Security door in front.

They always showed up when they said, and did exactly what they said they would do. The work was done within the time frame, and they did an excellent job. When they were finished they cleaned up and removed all the debris. The door look beautiful, and function well, no problems. They passed inspection with no problems. We were kept informed as to when the doors would arrive, when the building inspector would be out etc. Would certainly recommend them!

All of the workers were professional and competent, especially Ryan. He was involved in every aspect from carpentry, plumbing, and tile installation. I felt like, sometimes, the other guys were just getting in his way. Unfortunately, Ryan had to leave early on the last day of the job for a family commitment, which left two other guys to finish up. I had requested that the shower curtain rod be permanently attached by drilling holes in the tile and screwing the mounting cups to the wall. These guys were rushing to get out of there on a Friday and ended up cracking the tile. With that, they threw up their hands and left. Ryan had to come back the next week to complete the task. His boss, apparently, had him supply friction cups to complete the curtain rod installation saying that further attempts to drill into the tile would likely produce additional cracks. I reluctantly agreed. A week later, I obtained my own porcelain tile coring bits and completed the task myself. I am not a tile contractor or carpenter, so I felt like, if I could do, they should have been able to do it.
Description of Work: bath remodel. complete gut to studs, reroute plumbing, remove wall and incorporate adjacent half bath. I couldn't be happier with the results, but I think I paid way too much. $12,200 for one week of labor seems high, but I was eager to get it done and was assured that it could be done in the time desired.

I live in an older 1960’s concrete block home and had the master bathroom redone. The job was scheduled several weeks in advance so I could take off work to be there. The job started when scheduled. The workers arrived a little after 8am each morning and worked until after 5 pm. They were all polite and informative about what they were doing. They were careful about tracking debris in and out as they worked and cleaned up after themselves. I felt very comfortable with them in my home. Job was estimated to be done in a week and was finished in less than 4 days. The price came in abit under what was estimated. I liked that there was a price sheet that indicated the cost of each part of the job. I knew what was being done each day. I was always able to get in contact with Tim when I had a question. Everything was very professional and went like clockwork. I feel like the job was well done for a fair price. I would definitely use this company again.

It looked good in the beginning but the tile did not have endcaps. When we mentioned this to him he said it would have been an extra charge and it was too late for it. I also had to ask him if the tile was sealed because they had not done this. He said he would have that done and they ended up missing a few spots. They also said they ran out of tile so I bought some more. They later said they found the extra in the garage but when the job was done they took the extra tile with them. When I talked to Tim about the extra tile I paid for, he acted offended and said he needed to pay his guys. He asked for me to give him a review and so I did. Unfortunately I would not recommend him.

As with all our customers, we give an opportunity to purchase tiles and specialty tiles with bullnose (endcaps) at the time of ordering. It is also our practice in every job to clear out everything we brought onto the job, (tools, scraps, mess) when the job is completed. If your tiles were inadvertantly picked up during that time, it was an oversite and we do apologize. We would never intentionaly take something belonging to the customer. Never do we need to take a few pieces of tile to make payroll. We have tried to reach you to resolve this issue and invite you to call us at 321-406-0848. Thank you for your business and God bless. We look forward to hearing from you. Tim

Tim and his crew showed up on Monday morning as promised and immediately got to work on the demo work. Four men tackled the job of removing all of the tile and ripping out the old shower pan which takes a small jackhammer and a lot of pounding. Expect quite a lot of noise and dust. They did a great job taking precautions to cover the floor, furniture, and cordon off the rest of the master bedroom with plastic draping and sealing with tape. All of the team members were personable, professional, and respectful. Once the job of removing the tile and old drain pan was completed. They called me in to inspect the considerable amount of water damage that had been occurring for several years under the floor and in the walls from a leaky shower valve. This caused a lot of water rot and mold that needed to be removed and replaced. We agreed to a figure for the extra cost and I was told it would take an extra day to complete the framing preparations. The third day began with the building code inspector visit and completion of durock cement board for the floor and walls. I also made a change in the job by asking that they remove a small door to the toilet area and the framing around it to open up the room more to make it appear larger. They accepted this change with no push back (no extra charge) and my wife also noticed a small flexing in the cement board near the toilet which they ripped up (including the plywood which was the problem) and replaced with no questions asked. Truly they care about making sure the customer is happy with the job as it goes along. They cleaned up everything and hauled it away that day. Fourth day was the start of the actual tile crew (subcontractors). Both members of the tile crew were personable and respectful. Though they worked a little slower than the first crew, they paid excellent attention to detail which goes a long way to a high quality tile job because rushing finish work can be very noticeable to the over quality of the appearance. The preparation of the drain pan and tile floor were the first day's work. Second day was shower wall tile. Third day (Monday of next week) finished the wall tile and set the shower floor tile. Fourth day of the tile job was for the baseboards and travertine sills and bullnose around the framing of the entrance ways, towel bars, etc. Fifth day was the grouting and they added one more worker to the job in order to complete everything that day. The next day was for setup of the grout so there was no work performed and finally on Friday the 15th of Nov they completed the job with a little bit of finish work in the afternoon on the wallboard. Our only nit was that the final work to prep the wallboard for painting may have been a little rushed. Overall it was a fantastic job and the final product has made us extremely happy. I would recommend Doors by Tim to anyone who needs tile work and wants to be satisfied with the end result.
Description of Work: Removed existing tile from floor of master bathroom and shower (large double shower). Found considerable damage and mold from leaking water shower valve in walls and under floor of shower. Resulted in extra cost and a one day slip in schedule that was not planned for but can always be an issue for an older restoration/re-model.

April phoned me at 12:15 pm on Tuesday, November 12 and indicated that, "Tim was held up in a situation in Merritt Island and would not be able to make our appointment..." She indicated that he could come to our home on Thursday, November 14, 2013. I declined the revised appointment as it was extremely unprofessional to call me to cancel an appointment that was made 5 days earlier on the day of the appointment and 15 minutes past the scheduled appointment time. I came home from work to meet Tim for this appointment. There were no apologies made by April on behalf of this company.
Description of Work: I called to request a bid from this company on Thursday, November 7, 2013 . The requested bid were to replace two entrance doors and to install a cat door. The company representative who answered the phone (April) scheduled the appointment for 5 days later on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 12:00 noon. She indicated that this was the earliest that Tim could get to my home.

As with any construction job, things do come up that require Tim to be with our currently client, at the last minute, and assist them with their project. As you will read in our review above this, there was unplanned previous water and mold damage that needed immediate attention. We would hope that you would want that same attention to detail on your project.

I called this company based on their advertising and after a missed appointment time by Mr. Coffee, JR Brown arrived and surveyed the problems with the existing door. He explain what could and could not be done to improve the situation and I elected to have the entire unit replaced. After consulting with his office, Mr. Brown advised that he could schedule the work for the following afternoon and he would meet me at the neighborhood Lowes to pick out the steel, fire resistant door I wanted. We went to Lowes and picked out the door, he even explained the difference between the fiberglass doors and the steel doors and rejected the dented doors the sales person tried to sell him. Mr. Brown then went to the Titusville Lowes to get an undamaged door to put in my house. The next day, Mr. Brown removed the entire old door assembly in an orderly manner and proceeded to install a new the new frame and accessible threshold into the old space. At my request, he went so far as to test the opening in a wheelchair for me, to make sure the opening could be mounted by a wheelchair. He went about finishing the door mount and refitting all the trim in a most efficient manner. He cleaned up all areas effected by the construction dust and took away all used materials. The end product looked great and was sealed against air loss and any outdoor bugs coming in. Mr. JR Brown certainly knows about doors and how they work and don't work. He is polite, efficient and personable. I would ask for this young man to do any further work I needed done in my home or the home of a family member.

I met the owner of the business, Tim, after I set up an appointment. Getting in touch with him was very easy and he was readily available to meet with me within a very reasonable time. I was provided with all licenses and insurance from the company, all nicely placed into a folder. I was shown pictures of work they have had done. The process was explained to me as to how everything would happen. I was provided with a material allowance sheet and took it to Lowe's. A staff member from the company even accompanied me to help me make good choices and choose products that would work in my bathroom. The contractor takes the allowance sheet and picks up all the material. The workers that came to my house were professional and very friendly. I was frequently consulted to approve of the work they were doing. I felt involved in the entire process. The work was done in less than four days. Inspectors came out and signed off on all necessary paper. I never had difficulty contacting anyone. Everyone in the team is very good at what they do, they work together very well and were a pleasure to have in my house. A legitimate business that I would hire again without hesitation and recommend to anyone. Doors by Tim not only does doors, they perform all residential remodeling. I am very pleased with the work that was done. Price was fair as well. Work was performed in a clean fashion and trash was removed promptly. A legit contractor that will give you a good price, let you make the selection by yourself or with the help of someone and will get the work done promptly and professionally.
