Description of Work: They cleared the pipes, but didn't look into the problem as to why it was clogged.

Description of Work: I called for them to install two toilets where I provided the toilets and materials. Arrived after the expected time window. Technician was obviously upset that my job would keep him later than expected that day. Was charged an extra $100 as "travel time" although it was not discussed in advance.

Description of Work: He replaced a leaking water supply valve for our water softener. The valve was in a very tight, awkward location. Excellent work.

Description of Work: Power auger main drain through entire house to open clogged toilet and shower. I called as emergency and they were able to fit us in. I was shocked at how little the bill was! They will now be my plumber. We had just purchased this home and did not know anyone.

Description of Work: We are new to the area and were in need of replacings 2 toilets. We saw Chris's Plumbing while traveling down 301 and decided to stop. We were very glad we did. They were frieindly as well as knowledgable. They came in a timely fashion to do the work. The gentleman who came was friendly, polite, and had much expertise in this field. We would definately recommend this company to our friends.

Description of Work: We recieved a water bill on Jan. 17 for over $600. We had no idea that the main water line to our house had been cracked due to oak tree roots. I called Chris' Plumbing because we had used them once before and had a good experience. A woman on the phone was very helpful and because of her I was able to locate the site of the leak. She sent a plumber and that is when things went very wrong. The plumber was grumpy and irritated from the start. I had no idea the scope of this job and he did not explain anything. By the time he began working on locating the line under the tree, it was dark outside. The exterior light on my house was not working, so it was very hard for the plumber to see what he was doing. He brought out a small garden shovel to dig for the leak. He dug very slowly. He also had a light bulb attached to a cord and that was his only way of seeing what he was doing. As he slowly dug he cussed under his breath and complained. I began to realize he may not be the best plumber for this job. He located what he thought was the leak and tried to repair it, but it wasn't successful. By this point it was obvious that he was angry. My nieghbors came outside to see what was going on. One brought lanterns because the plumber couldn't see what he was doing. We suggested he come back in the morning because it was getting late and he couldn't see, but his response was it didn't matter if he did it at night or the next day, we were going to be charged the overtime rate since it was the weekend. He then started smoking. At first he said he was using the smoke to see if it would come out of the pipe in the ground since he didn't know which pipe was which, but then after that he just smoked. I asked him if he wanted a drink and he said he would like liquor. I know he wasn't serious, but my confidence in him was completely gone. He spent so much time doing nothing and circling around the tree. I couldn't talk to him because he was so irritable. I finally called Chris' plumbing and asked if they could please send help for this guy. They said he is the only plumber on call for the weekend and if he doesn't finish tonght it will be him who comes again in the morning. I told the dispatcher I needed to talk to a supervisor. A man called back and acted like he was the supervisor, but I found out later from Chris' plumbing that I was actually talking to the dispatcher again. I told the "supervisor" this guy doesn't seem to know what he is doing and is unprofessional. The man on the phone said he understands what I mean and he made reference to the fact that this plumber may not be competent. He explained there is no one else on call and nothing can be done. He spoke briefly to the plumber which made things even more uncomfortable because the plumber knew I had reported him. After over 4 hours, the plumber said he could not fix the leak and he would hook a hose to my house so we could have water that night. I didn't know he would have to cut pvc piping to do this and I would then have to pay for that to be repaired as well. I went in in and called my husband who said to get him away from our house. I went back out and asked him to leave, but not before he had cut the water line at the road but never hooked the hose to it so we had no water. The next morning I never heard from Chris' Plumbing and I did not want that plumber back, so I called Grable plumbing. They came out and the first thing that plumber said was that he would have never started the job in the dark. He then spent at least and hour fixing the pvc that Chris' plumber cut so he could see where the leak was. He used a large shovel and worked hard at trying to figure out the problem. He had trouble fixing it as well and finally my husband, who was out of town ,suggested putting a new water line from the road to the house. He came home, dug the trench, and had Grable put in a new waterline. Problem finally solved. I then get a $562 bill from Chris' Plumbing. I called them and told them what happened that night. I felt like I could not pay them for that dissaster. Chris' plumbing then started threatening us and saying they were going to put a lean on our property if we didn't pay. My husband also tried to argue the bill since the plumber wrote on the invoice that he had 14 fittings for only ten feet of pipe. We had the pipe he left at our house and there was not 14 fittings. The plumber lied. After Chris' Plumbing multiple phone calls and threatening to put a lean on our house, we decided to pay in full. It wasn't worth it to me to worry about it. I think they know they sent me a plumber who wasn't capable of handling this kind of job, but they didn't really care. If this was a professional company I would have actually talked to a supervisor when I asked to speak to one and if they cared about customer satisfaction Chris himself would have come out here to try and resolve this problem. Instead they told me take this plumber or leave him, but that is all you are getting and you are paying anyway. Stay away from these guys!!!!!
