+ -1 moreWe were victims of the perfect scam played out by A Castillo Cabinetry and we are still trying to recover the $5,328.60 that this merchant stole from us. Both people who run this small company (Jhonny Castillo and Stacy Burdanowicz have criminal records for Grand Theft. We are apparently their newest victim. The whole problem began when the granite was being delivered for our countertop. The granite supplier told us that the merchant could not pay for the granite and that they did not pass their corporate background check and that this merchant would not be receiving the granite we selected. The granite truck drove away in front of our eyes without delivering the granite. The merchant appears to have sold us a product (granite countertop) that he knew he couldn?t provide, he voided the agreement in a friendly way, the merchant handed back our refund check. He made an unauthorized charge on our credit card and then when this was discovered he said he didn?t know how to void the charge. The merchant called later that day to say that we were going to process a full refund. The merchant never even discussed the possibility of providing us any service after saying that the entire transaction was voided. The merchant then apparently went to the credit card bank to make claim to the money and steal over $5,328.60. No services were ever offered or provided by this merchant. The merchant incurred no charges from anyone, the granite supplier has confirmed this. These people are very smooth and they appear to have the best price and the fastest delivery. If you have any doubts...just google these people's names with the terms "Florida arrest" to get the real picture and hopefully make a better decision than we did. They incorporated the company two weeks after this event took place...on April 23, 2013. look up the company records on sunbiz.org if you need more information.

I spoke with a young lady who answered the phone and she was honest, and thorough. I was initially going to go with them but I found a better deal online through another site for another granite person.

Description of Work: Choosing A Castillo Cabinetry was a very expensive mistake. Jhonny installed the new granite about a month ago and left the faucet valves open when he disconnected the faucet. Because the work was sloppy and the undermount sink was not flush I tried calling several times in the following days to have it fixed. Only after threatening to stop payment in a voicemail was my call returned. Jhonny came by the day we were supposed to leave since this is not our permanent residence and said that he would fix the issues the next time we're in town. The issues included the half inch overlap for the sink cutout, cloudy spots that needed polishing, a crack in the granite, nothing for the dishwasher to attach to, and gobs of silicone seeping under the granite everywhere. One month later I returned to the home and found standing water under the kitchen cabinets due to Jhonny leaving the faucet valves open. Even though the water was off in the home it had leaked into two other rooms where mold had started to grow. When I called to ask for their insurance information they would not provide it and referred to their contract that they were not responsible for plumbing even though they disconnected the faucet for installation. This denial of responsibility is indefensible given that their negligence when removing the faucet caused significant water damage to my home. I've turned the issue over to my insurance company and will let them sort out the issue so now I need to have three newly renovated rooms treated for mold. Jhonny seems like a nice guy but the quality of his work is terrible. Every contractor that has seen the granite has said the quality of his work is terrible. He seems very rushed and not very focused. His assistant Stacy will be the nicest person until you have an issue with the work. Rather than try to resolve the issue she will deny responsibility. I have nothing to gain by writing this review other than protecting others in Tampa from going through what I'm going through. Make sure you get insurance information upfront from whoever you choose.

+ 0 moreWOW! WHAT AN ARTIST! JHONNY hand trimmed edges even though he has a machine edger. Looks beautiful. His comany is run extremly professional, they are punctual returning all phone calls, call when they are on their way, neat, and do better then quality work. I am just sorry I did not know about his company when I had my main kitchen done, now knowing the quality of work, and ease to work with.
Description of Work: Helped my wife pick a beautiful granite slab, cut, trim, and installed it in two bathrooms and game room kitchen.

+ -1 moreJhonny Castillo (owner) was great to work with. He came to the house and looked at what I had. He then went back to the shop and completely designed a kitchen that my wife fell in love with. He spent several weeks just changing things, as I would find something else I wanted, and he was more then willing to make changes. The job felt like it took forever to complete, but it was probably just the case of not having a kitchen that made it feel like it took forever. Once everything was done, he came back over and walked through the kitchen with me. I spotted a few little things that he immediately fixed for me. He even fixed some damage that I caused on my own. He was always willing to go above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I would hire him again to do another kitchen for me. Hopefully I won't need to redo a kitchen again for awhile. It is something you only want to do once. He also has a storefront, so you can always come in and talk to him.
Description of Work: They completely redesigned the kitchen.
