Bob was referred to me by a cabinet installer and counter top supplier I was interviewing. They work as a team. Bob is a dealer for several manufacturers of cabinets. He DOES NOT work directly for the Manufacturer. Bob is one in a million. I don?t think any other contractor would have been so hands on and always on top of such a fiasco. He answered every one of my calls and emails, and there were probably hundreds. He really stood by us. And you could tell he truly felt bad about the inconvenience we were suffering because we were without a kitchen and living out of boxes eating off of paper plates for many months. We needed new cabinets in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry area to accommodate the merging of two residences. We had limited cabinet space and no real pantry. Bob came to my house and listened to what I was looking for. He made suggestions but always kept in mind my wishes. (I interviewed a number of cabinet suppliers and most of them wanted to do it their way not my way). We had problems with the Manufacturer from the beginning, but understand, this was not an issue with Bob. We had trouble getting samples. It took forever to get them. We ordered sample doors and they did not match the sample piece the dealer had. So we had to start over and order different sample doors. Again it took forever. Everything this Manufacturer did took forever. The cabinets finally arrived about 4 ½ months after we started the process. The cabinets were to have a natural finish with an ebony glaze. They looked like they were covered in mold. I finally stopped the installation. Bob immediately contacted the Manufacturer?s representative and insisted he come to my house and look at the mess we had. Bob stayed on top of things and with the rep convinced the Mfg. to remake all of the cabinets with a slightly different finish to eliminate the moldy look . It took almost 10 weeks to get the replacements. The finish still is not very good and Bob replaced 6 of the doors and drawer fronts a second time. Again it took about 7 weeks. We also had to order additional moldings. The additional moldings came in with the moldy finish. So Bob had to have them replace. Total, almost 12 weeks. The entire process took about 10 months. Bob never backed away from the issues. His primary concern was for his customer. At one point I told him I wanted to call the CEO as I had already contacted a VP and did not get any satisfaction. So he gave me the CEO?s cell number. (I am a strong personality and I wanted to talk to the CEO myself.) I would have no problems using Bob again or recommending him to my friends and family. I do not believe he is handling this Manufacturer?s product lines any more.
