Description of Work: Had new appliances installed on a Tuesday. Several days later dishwasher started falling forward from under granite. Took several days for them to come back out. Looked great when he left. Ran dishwasher only to discover no water. Left two polite messages with no reply. Only called back when my husband called. Said they would come on Tuesday morning. My husband stayed home, no one came. He called them at noon, they forgot said they would come the next morning which they did. Frustrating experience to have new dishwasher two weeks before it worked.

The experience went very well overall. They were prompt, did what had to be done, and the dryer ran well after the repair. They have a service plan with a charge, but then there’s no service fee with that plan, only the cost for parts.

They charged us a $79 service fee. We ended up not having the washer repaired, and purchased a new washer instead. I wasn’t very happy with the service technician, who didn’t seem to know a whole lot about our machine. He spent a lot of time on the phone with Fisher & Paykel, only to find out that he wouldn’t be able to fix it unless we purchased a $500 circuit board.

I FIRED THIS COMPANY! I contacted Mr. Appliance in Port Charlotte and scheduled an appointment. One was given, as well as, a window to time for the technician perform the repair. On the first day, I called the office to see if they forgot about the appointment as it was past the given time. ( I waited 3 hours) I was advised the technician was still on the previous call and we rescheduled for the following day with another window of time for the appointment. I waited around (2 hours this time) for the technician and he did not meet the appointment time again. I just called the office to advise they were fired and tell the technician not to bother coming. This company needs an education in Customer Service. If the technician cannot make the scheduled appointment time then a courtesy call should be made to the customer.

Assuming that we did not make an effort to contact you regarding our running behind schedule, please accept my sincere apologies. We strive to keep our scheduled customers informed, on their In Home Service Professionals progress as he makes his way through his route, however, it appears we fell short of this when failing to keep you abreast. As you likely are aware, when we actually schedule a visit, we give the customer a 4 hour window, whether it be AM(8-12), PM(1-5) or Late AM/Early PM(10-2). Providing we have your email address on file, an automated email is sent to you the evening before which includes, for your security, a photo of the IHSP that is scheduled to visit, a short video of what you should expect from the IHSP, as well as a narrowed down time from, down to a 2 hour window. This is an extremely popular service that no one else in our industry provides. That being said, it also presents a challenge at times, however seldom it may be. We train our IHSP’s to spend as much time with each customer that is necessary, to leave them feeling confident in our ability to resolve their appliance challenges. I certainly would not accept an IHSP spending the allotted time with you and then leaving your home to make another scheduled appointment, without having first resolving any and all challenges you may have brought to surface. This leads to isolated incidents in which we planned on being at your home for one hour, but instead spent three hours, making your needs our priority at that time. It is not uncommon for me and our IHSPs to be into the early evening hours in an effort to satisfy our commitment to each and every customer. We certainly are not perfect and in fact, anything but. I will make you a promise though that you can trust in though, that being there is not another company that tries any harder to be exactly that. My wife and I have been in business here in SW Florida since 1988. Not once, have we ever called it a day, without first addressing every scheduled customer’s challenges. Please trust that this means that I have gone home after a very late evening, refreshed, dawned another uniform, hugged the wife and kids and headed out on the next day’s adventure. I would be honored with the opportunity to earn your trust in the future. Please accept my being responsible and my sincere apology for not having kept you informed. Take Care, Bob Tuck

We had an absolutely positive experience with them. They were top notch. They came out right away. They were very professional. They sent us a security picture of the repairman online before he actually showed up to make sure we would know who was coming. When they were here they were very neat. They were polite and did a very nice job.

We had our refrigerator go out and the staff at Mr Appliance was prompt and professional. Bob diagnosed the problem as being with the compressor. He had specific knowledge of my model of fridge and of Kenmore?s warranty. He helped me research my purchase date and he called sears with all the pertinent information to get it covered under warranty. With his help I was able to get the repairs done under warranty with no cost to me other that their diagnostic charge ($75?very reasonable). This would normally be $800-$1000.
Description of Work: Bob from Mr Appliance diagnosed a bad compressor on our fridge and arranged for Sears to fix it under warrenty.

. In summary, 400 dollars for the first call,150 dollars for the second. All this on a 4 year old refridgerator. Had he quoted a 550 dollar repair cost the first time I would not have done it ,but would have replaced the appliance.

I would like to apologize for the delay in posting this response to this customers concerns. The circumstances that lead to his investing 484.53 into this refrigerator w/o knowing in advance were certainly reason for his concern, yet I must also imply, an unfortunate set of circumstances, certainly out of our control. Please let me explain how we were able to assist in making things better than could have been. Fortunately for this customer, both visits were made by Jim, our senior tech, second to none. The customer first called 10/14/09 at 1:45 PM. During Jims first visit on 10/15/09, he arrived at 9:46 AM and his findings were; not cooling & dispenser not working due to shorted main control, Replaced main contol board, cooling ok. 1-Year warranty on repair. Jim e-bill These comments are copied directly from the WO provided to the customer via our E Bill, meaning he chose the option to have the receipt emailed to him, a very popular service. Notice Jim also found the Dispenser in the Door dead, which is powered by the mother board. He provided an estimate to the customer whom authorized the repair, replaced the main mother board located on the very back of the refrigerator, reassembled the unit, collected the payment for a 337.13 repair and departed at 10:43 AM, 57 minutes later. On 11/30/09, almost 7 weeks later, at 8:52 AM, the customer called again with a similar challenge. Jim was dispatched and arrived at 11:20 AM, less than 3 hours later . His findings were; Checked new board just installed, checks good, sensors read in normal range, found defrost heater open, replaced heater (as an ad on) cooling good. 1-year warranty on repair During this visit Jim, unfortunately found the defrost heater circuit defective. This customer owns a very good refrigerator, in my opinion, but it is worth mentioning that in both cases we had the parts to repair his unit on the van. The bad news is, both parts replaced are common failures. The good news is we have replaced possibly the only two parts we carry for this unit, in addition to having replaced them with parts found to be superior to those originally used. Jim again provided the customer with an estimate of 147.40(nearly half of the normal rate), received authorization, disassembled the freezer compartment, defrosted the evaporator, replaced the defective heater circuit, reassembled and departed at 1:33 PM, 2 hours and 13 minutes later.. Had Jim found the main mother board to be defective during the second visit as he did on the first, it becomes what we refer to as "An Opportunity Call" and there would have been no charges, as our repairs have a 1 Year Parts and Labor Warranty. Here at Mr Appliance we consider these calls to be an opportunity to prove to our customers that, far more important than our being compensated, is their being satisfied with our team. Fortunately, or unfortunately, this was not the case with this customer. Thank You for this opportunity and this service you provide to our consumers.

First I would like to thank the memberr for taking valuable time out of his day to use this fabulous tool. I would also like to make a minor correction to his report. The amount he paid for the repair was $166.18, not the $1,656.18 reported. Correcting his installation required uninstalling his "over the range microwave", placing it on a workable surface, removing and redirecting his exhaust blower assembly to blow out the back of his microwave into his vent, measuring for proper alignment, addressing the prior installation, re-installing the "over the range microwave" and testing for acceptable CFMs. This is quite a process in getting it done correctly. Thank you for this opportunity.
