I gave them a check for $150 as a downpayment. A few days later I decided that this was too much and called to cancel the work. I was informed that they would destroy the check because they had not cashed it. A few days later I called the bank and found that they had indeed cashed the check. They then told me that they would send me a check as soon as it cleared. It has been a week now and I still have not receivd their check.
Description of Work: I had them come and look at the work I needed done for cleaning up my yard for spring.

The paperwork was turned in on Thursday which included her $150 deposit after afternoon she called the sales department instead she was canceling he did not know at all followed them the check $450 that was wrote to be deposited to do her job on Tuesday I found out about it so that's fine no big deal the office will send her a check when it clears and that was done she had her check in the month of April and she put this review on here when she canceled immediately instead of waiting for us to do our job to send her her check which was silly I know when I buy furniture or something my wife cancel something that made me wait 30 days our policy is not that way we sent it out when it clears the bank and they say it's completely cleared that way they don't try to rip us off with a bad check thank you so much Marshall Well finance department and payroll

Description of Work: It went fine while he was discussing what he planned to do. I kept asking him about the additional cost and he wouldn't give me as much as a ball park figure. He just told me how great the house would look upon completion. After about an hour of talking and walking around, he finally drew up a plan and gave me the total cost. I couldn't believe my eyes. I am only doing this to give my house more curb appeal. I got it through my divorce settlement but have it on the market because I can't afford to live there any more. I thought I spelled it out pretty clearly in my first communication with him. I noticed afterwards that he has other Angie's deals which may have been more appropriate for my situation.

I purchased a Big Deal with them for $899 for a complete landscaping makeover, which was valued at $2100. They came out and looked at my yard, and gave me an estimate of $4300. He said that I would get a 10% discount, but did not take into account the deal I had purchased. I felt like $2100 should have been deducted from the estimate, since that is the value of the deal I purchased, but he did not even take into account the $899 I had already paid for the deal, and was simply offering me 10% off the regular price of the service. Because of the confusion with this deal offer, I have decided not to work with them company.

Description of Work: I used Chris Black Landscaping and Designs. They pulled a tree. They moved the tree's location and added some curving and some stone. They also moved some plants.

The service was great. He is a very nice guy, and he runs the business himself. Not only does he run the business, he is also here doing the work. If you have a problem, he comes right out to fix it. He is very responsive.

It was a job. I would recommend that his design capabilities are very good. It was very artistic. The only other thing on the other side of the coin I would think that customer's should be really precise in review of his proposal. It's not that he does anything wrong it just seems disorganized sometimes with work and what he's doing and what you get your bill. In his case you have to really be diligent. You make sure you understand the proposal and what materials and stuff.
Description of Work: Landscaping. They do some fairly extensive jobs.
