American Leak Detection of Southwest Florida

I called to set up a time for American Leak Detection to come out and they were able to come out the next day. I was told 11-1, which I assumed that J.D. would be here sometime in that range. When he realized at 10:15 he wasn't going to be at my house until 11:45 he called to let me know his estimated arrival time and apologized. There was no need to apologize but I appreciated that he was considerate of my time. He was here for three house and worked tirelessly to locate our leak. He kept me posted and answered all of my questions. My husband came home for lunch and walked through any questions my husband had. D.J. was very professional with a focus on customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to use American Leak Detection. This is the right call if you need someone to locate a leak.

Took Travis all of 10 seconds to find the source. Amazing! He can hear water and feel dampness like a pro. So glad we found American Leak Detection. And he was able to come the same day we called. We will tell our friends and neighbors about your great service. A small hole in the drywall....no major damage!

It went well. The young man was here for 75 minutes and fixed two leaks. He was very nice and very good. The charge of $400 for 1 hour and 15 minutes was a bit steep. He didn't use any specialized equipment, just him diving in the pool and checking the leaks with colored liquid.

The guy called, said he was going to come out and look at the job, and call me back. I never got a call back. This service sucks!!!

They did a thorough inspection and were fair and honest.

Ron was the technician they sent, he was excellent, very professional, explained what and why he was doing the testing he was doing, leak was found. Est for repairs seemed reasonable. We will definitely be using this company in the future and for the repairs now

It took three visits to finally solve our leak issues, but these folks were dogged in their determination to get it fixed! Only cost was the initial repair (it turned out to be more troublesome than it first appeared), and each of the three repairmen we dealt with was punctual and pleasant. We highly recommend this company for honest, dependable work. They will find your leak and fix it!

Steve from American Leak Detection was prompt, found the leak within a short period of time, and made what he wrote up as a "temporary" repair. This repair has lasted almost 2 years as of this review, so needless to say I'm very happy!

Repairman arrived promptly on time, proceeded to accomplish task without delay, Cleaned up work area,and was apparantly able to complete his job without any problem. I am very pleased.

I've use AMD twice, and both times the representative/technician who came was timely, professional, and knowledgeable. The work was thorough and fully explained after the work was done. They honor their 30-day warranty in a timely fashion and quickly respond to emails.

American Leak Detection found the source of the leak that other companies could not find.

The leak was not from a pipe as he was focused on. He did show me a pipe in the ceiling. (Not the problem). The leak was due to the excessive rain which elevated the water table supporting the foundation. He wanted immediate payment w credit card, which I gave him somewhat reluctantly. It was a big sum considering the short time spent and the fact that another workman figured out the problem. If I could do it all over again, I would have called DCR Restoration instead.

My pool was leaking! I was afraid it was going to be horribly expensive. They came out checked the whole pool for leaks. They found the leak repaired it. The concrete patch was blended to match my existing pool deck. They did a great job.

I called and the company was able to send a representative the next day. Everything went as planned and the leak was located and the overall pool was checked for any other problems. Fortunately there were none. The service was fast and professional. We were extremely pleased with the outcome. We would highly recommend this company to others.

It went great! They responded to my email within 24 hours and scheduled an appointment within 3 business days on a day and time of my choosing. The Leak Specialist arrived promptly, was very pleasant and helpful. He quickly identified the problem and showed me photos of the damage. He described how the leak could be resolved, made recommendations for preventive measures. He had to go into the wall to identify the source of the leak and was very sensitive to potential damage, discussed options with me, etc. He also cleaned up the work area upon completion! I would highly recommend this company to identify the source of water leaks! Very professional, very pleasant to deal with. I especially appreciated the brainstorming about remediation and options for making the necessary repairs.

When he found the leak, he said he could do the job since he was already there or call a plumber. He said he would have to jack hammer the sidewalk and he did which made cracks. He punched a hole in the air conditioner line. He put a U-Shape pipe back and I told him that's not how you found. He didn't like that I was telling him what to do. I called his boss and sent a picture to him. I never heard from back from him. The next day the same guy came, without calling, covered it and sent a picture to me and asked is that better. I asked him to wait and he said it was too late since he finished. He did a bad job covering it up. He said he's the plumber and the homeowner shouldn't tell him how to do his job and kept going on and on. He was very rude and had a chip on his shoulder. I think the owner should have called to explain everything. The price was outrageous for the way they conducted themselves and the quality of the job.

I had been delayed in getting back home on time and when I arrived they were already at work. They found minor leaks around the skimmer, but the major problem was at the old sand filter, It was soaking wet and they initially thought it had become porous over time. (installed in1986). The actual problem turned out to be water under pressure being forced out the top of the filter. They unthreaded the top and lubed the ring before reinstalling. No more leak. They also tested the valves controlling water to the skimmer and vacuum port. One was leaking air into the system causing bubbles and a lose of pressure. This I will fix shortly.

This is the second time we have used ALD; the first time we had a leak in a pipe in the foundation slab, and the insurance company assigned ALD to our job. They were prompt, professional, and found exactly where the leak was. I presume the insurance company was charged their standard fee of $300. The second time they were called because we had water damage under a wood floor and could not figure out where the moisture was coming from. This was unrelated to the leak above. They sent Robert Obert. Robert told us that because there was no obvious source of water, he would not charge the usual $300 fee but would inspect the area and advise us of possible moisture sources getting under the wood. This was very helpful to us.

It all went extremely well. The person that came out, Ron, was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He very thoroughly checked out the entire pool, lines and filtration system for leaks. He was also a pleasant individual and very thoroughly answered some questions I had about the pool. He clearly knows everything about pools. The good part is they also do repairs, if possible, while out for leak testing. If it's more serious, they can tell you exactly what needs to be done and do it for you too. Fortunately, what was needed for my pool could be done while he was here. He found several tile joints leaking and also the actual niche for the pool light was leaking where it is cemented into the pool wall. He fixed all of these with some special epoxy he uses and checking this morning the water level has not dropped at all! It was losing almost an inch plus a day. He also did a minor modification to the skimmer to increase the water flow for vacuuming the pool for this particular pool. The vacuum system on this pool has always been lousy for pool cleaning, now it vacuums quite well. I highly recommend this company!

This was the second company that I used. The first one, Sherlock leak detection did not find the leak but still charged me $350 to look. I called American Leak Detection after giving up on Sherlock. American was so much more professional. They found a leak at the pool light and fixed it.

Arrived early for appt. Handled promptly. Very Professional. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

Dominick arrived earlier than promised and immediately saw the problem. I was feeling pretty foolish for not thinking to prime the pump. (I guess I believed when the pump was said to be self-priming). It never occurred to me. (Senior moment). He added water to the bowl and everything worked perfectly. Thank you. He gave me a break in the quoted price and I appreciated it very much. American Leak Detection was recommended to me by another Angie's List provider and a check with Angie's List ratings confirmed to me that this was a good choice of provider.
