Our daughter had Tom, the owner, to do some work for her and she suggested them to us as they did such a good job for her. They sent Nick and a helper. I would guess that it would take around 4 hours to do everything. 7 and half hours later, they finished and handed me a bill for over $1100. They advised that since it was him and the helper, the rate was $115/ hr. I was charged extra because the helper is an apprentice. They didn't even finish everything and would need to be back to install light bars. He told me he'd back the next day to finish, but really needed to get the parts he didn't bring. He told me that my microwave had a short even though we've never had a problem with it after they installed a new outlet. I told him to take out the new outlet and put in the old one. Nick said, "I guess she knows about more this than the electrician does." Once they removed the new one and put back in the original, the microwave worked just fine. I asked what they were going to do with the outlet they just removed because I paid $30 for it. He told the apprentice to put it in somewhere else. This all was just more time added to the $115/hr I was getting charged. I was then charged again for this and for the apprentice. I contacted Tom to let him know that I didn't feel that I should have to be responsible for paying for an electrician and his apprentice. Tom advised that the apprentice is working too and should be paid as well. He said that he would rip up the check for the second days work and did. Anyone who plans on using Pope should be prepared to pay additional for apprentice work. If you choose to hire Pope and you get Tom, you'll probably have a great experience for a good price. But if you get Nick, you may not get that.
