+ -1 moreJust bought a house for my family in PSL. The garage side entry door had damaged top molding that allowed water intrusion for a very long time. The front door had wood rot at the very bottom of the vertical jamb sections. Norm came the next day after calling for an estimate. He arrived exactly when he said he would and provided a professional and friendly estimate. The price stated for the work performed seemed reasonable to me so I signed a contract that same day and put down a 50% deposit. He would have been able to schedule me for just a few days out but 2 weeks out better fit my schedule. On the day of the appointment he arrived a little early and with all needed materials. He completely replaced the side entry door and made better than new repairs to the front door including adding molding where there was none before to help better waterproof the area. The work was professional and he was even happy to humor this curious new homeowner's questions. Once finished he cleaned up the work areas to better than when he arrived and made sure I understood what was done and was happy with it. I won't hesitate to call again for my next home improvement project.

My only complaint was that it was not ready to paint because I had to re-chaulk and re-spackle nail heads prior to painting.
Description of Work: Mike Bell did trim work for me including installing base trim, door casing, plinth blocks, and rosettes. He also hung interior doors and installed locksets. He chaulked and spackled nail heads.

He arrived at the agreed time; was knowledgeable and was able to give me a quote. We arranged a time for the work to be done. On Thursday evening he called to remind me he would be to the house today and we agreed upon a time. Again, he was prompt, did a great job and was excellent at cleaning his work space. He had a tough time today as it started raining and storming. Tough going for trying to paint an exterior door. But - he stayed with it and got it all done. I will certainly use his services again. You cant go wrong hiring this gentleman to work on your home repairs. Well done!!

+ -1 moreHe went to Home Depot to get a bracket to repair a cabinet in the master bathroom and was gone for a very long time. He was only here at my home for a few hours. He stated that there is a $75 charge just to come to the house. Then $200 to put in new filters that I purchased and add a little grout to my shower! I ended up cleaning the irrigation filter and he just put it back on. I think the pricing was too high for these little jobs. The quality of the work was good, but the price was just too high for me.
Description of Work: I had a handyman come out to put some grout in my shower. He replaced the air conditioning filter. He replaced the filters under the sink, which I provided. He brought the irrigation filter in and had me clean it while he went on to the next little project. He also replaced a bracket on a cupboard in my master bathroom.

+ 3 moreThey did an excellent job, This house was built in 1903 and it had a lot of quirks when working on it! They did a great job working through it and were creative. The bathroom turned out beautiful. They were very helpful in how we could finish the breakfast room. I would recommend them highly!
Description of Work: They put in a new shower, replaced a floor, put moldings up, and did all contacts with plumber, shower door installation etc. It was a difficult job as they had to knock down walls and build in a new room for the shower. They also knocked down another wall in the breakfast room.

+ -1 moreNorm was out to look at the damage and give me an estimate within hours. He then had to back out for materials, came back, moved everything around up in a very hot carport crawlspace so that the weight was better dispersed, and when he finished the patch job, you couldn't even tell there had been damage. On top of that, this was a rental property, and I could not get out there to pay him due to work hours, so he drove all the way across town to save me the trouble. I can't recommend him any higher. Very nice man, trustworthy, and he did excellent work. I feel bad that this review took so long to post, but I didn't realize my subscription had expired.

+ -1 moreThese guys were great! Professional, punctual and there work was outstanding. Work was done on a small rental I have in Florida. I met them there once and everything else was done thru emails and phone calls. They sent me pictures of the work along the way. While I wasn't there day to day, the neighbors told me the guys showed up early everyday, were quiet, professional, clean and cleaned up everyday. The finished product was great and the price was very reasonable (I interviewed several other contractors). I highly recommend versatile.

We did have him install a new faucet in the same area as the dishwasher, but the increased cost was much higher than if we had someone else come in to install it. If you were to ask me if I would ever have them do more work........the answer would be absolutely no. I had to request the 10% Angie's List discount, When I called to make the original appt I told them I had gotten their name & number from Angie's List then I know he saw my 10% discount sheet laying on my counter where his tools were.
Description of Work: Removed an old dishwasher and put in a new one. while he was rebuilding the area of the dishwasher he put a screw through the counter top. He just tapped it with a hammer and he was done.

+ 2 moreVersatile Improvements & Remodeling Inc., set up a date to come and give estimate on replacing our double door entry. Mike Bell arrived promptly on January 3rd and sat down with us and explained what the estimate included and what would be estimated additional costs for for new lockset and trim. I called the next week to tell him we were ready to go forward with the project. On January 11 we met at Home Depot to order the door my wife selected. Installation began on Feb 6 and was completed Feb 8. Mike was always on time and would even call to let us know he was on the way. His knowlege and craftsmanship was flawless and he gave great attention to detail. When the final inspection was done by the County Inspector he remarked to me how impressed he was with the installation. Becaused we were so satisfied with the installation of the door, we asked him to replace our 12x40 foot textured ceiling on the back porch with a wooden ceiling. Again another outstanding job which was completed on time and within the estimated cost. At the end of each day he would clean up around the project site. Mike always made sure we were satisfied with his work. I would recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Removed double entry door and installed single entry door with double sidelights. Replaced 12x40 foot porch textured ceiling with wooden ceiling, removed 3 ceiling fans and installed 3 new ones.

+ 1 moreThese guys are outstanding. They seem to enjoy what they do and are meticulous in the final result. The gates now swing securely after bolts were installed all the way through the posts. An additional hinge was added to each gate. The gates now open all the way and don't get hung up on the sloped ground . Drywall, mud, sanding and painting work was done for 2 holes in the wall - I can't tell now that the holes were there. Paul painted the high ceiling areas in the kitchen. They come with all supplies and don't ask if I have a certain tool or ladder. They know what they are going and are great! Highly recommended. Everything was left spotless. Hire them. Fast, easy, fun, good work and good price.
Description of Work: reset 2 heavy wood gates, hinges, latches and locks ground under the gates is sloped and the gate bottoms were trimmed cut open drywall to check for mold replaced drywall from work done by electricians mudded the walls, sanded and painted painted interior high ceiling area

Once we received the estimate and decided to go ahead with the job it was the beginning of a great experience that definitely exceeded our expectations. They were extremely helpful in the initial phases of selection of the materials used to complete the project, as well as the materials needed throughout the job. Their enthusiasm, expertise, decorating ideas, and helpfulness was beyond our imagination. They gave us a time frame for the job and were exactly on time with the completion. They were prompt, courteous, thorough, neat, organized, detail oriented, good-natured and a pleasure to work with. + -1 morePaul and his crew did such an amazing job from start to finish. My cost estimate was very fair and Paul worked with me patiently while I chose the type of tile I wanted. The tiles were delivered to my home and carefully managed by Paul's crew so that no unintended breakage occurred. Paul's schedule estimate for completion was dead-on...the crew arrived on time, worked hard every day, cleaned up after themselves, and finished 1/2 day ahead of schedule. The tiles look amazing and were definitely installed by PROFESSIONALS...I would recommend Paul and his team for any project. It is such a relief to deal with a contractor who I can trust in my home and who will do what they say they will do. Paul delivered and I will use him for any project in the future...he's got my business for life. Do yourself a favor and have Versatile Improvements give you advice and a quote for your upcoming project. I'm glad I did.

Paul shows up on time, has all the tools and skills necessary to accomplish any home improvement need, works quickly and diligently, and will not leave until his client is completely satisfied with the work. + 4 moreExcept for the insurance company dragging their feet in issuing approved funds, the restoration is going very well. The house is almost complete and I hope my husband and I will be returning to our beautiful home in short order.
Description of Work: Just to be clear ....my insurance covered entire restoration. My house was flooded after water hose in laundry room burst causing major flooding throughout the house. Unfortunately my husband and I were away at the time. I used Angie's List to help me find a contractor since I knew no one I could call. When I contacted Paul Verga and Rick Grande from Versatile Improvements they responded immediately and have been available every step of the way! When I have a question, make a phone call, text or need to meet re: concerns .....they are always willing to take the time to keep me informerd and answer all my questions. My home needed a total restoration, including new cabinets in kitchen and both bathrooms, drywall repair in all rooms, painting entire interior of house with new molding in all rooms. I also needed new flooring throughout most of the home and they suggested that Home Depot would be the most economical for me and also provide excellent service and quality .......and they were right!, The house is not yet complete but the work they have performed so far is exceptional.......I can hardly wait to see the the completed project. The only thing holding matters up is the slow response of my insurance company to reinburse Paul and Rick for money spent but that seems to be picking up now. Thankfully. I would, without reservation, highly recommend Paul and Rick as dedicated, diligent, and highly skilled contractors who will get the job done and do an excellent job in restoring any living area from bathroom to bedroom and even an entire house!

+ 2 moreDecided we wanted a pocket door leading from living room into hallway removed, along with all framing that went with it. Wanted just drywall and baseboards. Also wanted to upgrade all outlets and light switches in living room and install a new ceiling fan. Our front door needed help, wouldn't stay shut unless you engaged the deadbolt. We also wanted new door knobs and deadbolts installed. Paul was very prompt in calling to set up a time to come by to provide an estimate. He and Rick came by, took a look at what we wanted done, asked questions, made suggestions and provided a fair estimate that we were happy with. We scheduled a day to start the work and they showed up on time and got right to work. Paul and Rick are very professional, knowledgable and courteous. Just all-around good people! I'm very happy with their work and would not hesitate recommending them to any of my friends or family. They even took some of the trim from the removal of the pocket door and replaced two pieces of trim in the master bathroom that our dog had used as a chew toy, at no extra charge! We will definately hire them again, we have lots to do around the house!!

+ 4 moreTotally satisfied with ALL work done by these guys! Estimates were spot on, work completed in timely and professional manner, they were very friendly and professional at all times. Made sure they kept areas clean and cleaned up after finishing job. Came early and worked late, I strongly feel they really went well above and beyond in their work. No issues whatsoever and would (will) have them back for all futures projects involving any type of remodel, etc. They constantly offered suggestions on the projects that added value and made the result even better than we had asked for. Important to mention again that all estimates were fair and I feel that they delivered far more than the costs in professional work. Do not hesitate in bringing this frim in on any remodeling/repair project.
