JCM Building Services - Inspections

JCM provided top notch service from start to finish. Prior to our pre-drywall inspection, Jay provided a preview of what to expect due to limitations established by our contract with the builder, e.g., not allowed on roof, water and electrical not yet hooked-up. Upon arrival to the site JCM met with the builder, asked questions about the current state of construction. He then met with us and confirmed what the builder would and would not permit. During our 2 hour on-site home inspection, JCM provided a review of and insight to the work in progress - what good, better and best practices looked like it when it came to areas of construction such as: foundation, wall studs, framing, beams, trusses, electrical, plumbing, hvac, stucco and roofing. He always attentstively listened to our questions s and then took the time to answer and confirm we understood. We were never rushed. The final inspection report was delivered within 24 hours, which we shared with and then reviewed with the builder on-site a week later. The report was easy to follow because it contained many photos, location references and notes regarding what areas were acceptable and what areas needed to be addressed. It was a wonderful learning experience that provides long term benefits. We look forward to again hiring JCM for our post home close and warranty inspections. We recommend JCM to anyone who needs a reliable and knowledgeable home inspector.

Jay communicated very well and provided an excellent report that included great photographs and descriptions of issues he thought needed to be addressed. If you need home inspections or any other services he provides through his company I would highly recommend.

It turned out that my prospective home does have some defects that will need to be corrected. The Jay was explaining every finding and took 3 hours to expect the residence in detail. I'm glad I hired someone who takes care of the buyer instead of just preparing the paperwork for the lender.

I would highly recommend Jay @ JCM Building Services. He did an extremely thorough evaluation and inspection of the home I am purchasing. He took his time through every step of the process to make sure I understood everything he was discussing, what is normal, what is not, what I should be immediately concerned about or can hold off, etc. The report that he provided to me and my real estate agent was extremely detailed along with pictures. It was well worth the cost and I truly feel I got my money's worth because I know exactly what I'm walking into with my new home purchase. Excellent company. I really can’t accurately comment on the cost because I don’t know what a home inspection should cost, but Jay did a great job. He was prompt, prepared the inspection report same day and was thorough. Great job.

Jay and his son Jay were extremely prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I am new to homeownership and they spent extra time after the inspection to point out some important general maintenance, and gave me a ton of confidence about caring for my siding and landscaping, I received my report the same day, too! Jay and his adult son (who by the way is licensed as well) did a fantastic job! I interviewed him before I met him at the house, because I wanted someone with experience and someone who was going to do a very thorough job. He did just that and more! Because he had his son doing the basic inspecting, he had time to explain things to me in detail. I recommend accompanying him during the inspection. He was very good about explaining both major and minor issues and how to address them. Gives my wife and I peace of mind knowing that the inspector did a thorough job! All 4 inspections included in cost.

Jay did a great job of inspecting the property we were considering to purchase. He found things that I would not have been able to find myself. He provided great recommendations and even was able to reverse engineer and understand what was done when trying to figure out how the current owner designed and constructed certain areas in the house. I would definitely recommend him.
