We use Hullett for monthly pest control inside our home and around the perimeter. We had an ant problem and had used them in our previous home with great success. We don't like using the chemicals inside our home, even though Hullett uses the and quot;lesser toxicand quot; forms of pesticides we prefer not to have them spray inside the house. They left some baits inside the house and then sprayed the perimeter. This is the same service they provided in our previous home, with the same result......NO MORE ANTS!!! I rated them a and quot;Cand quot; on pricing because they are not the cheapest folks in town, but they use the and quot;lesser toxicand quot; forms of pesticides and that is a huge priority for me. I want to use the least toxic form of pesticides to do the job, so as to lower my and my family's exposure to stronger toxins. Also, if any little critters do appear, (they have not) we can call them any time for a service call for no additional fee.

On the positive side, the supervisor was helpful about walking around the perimeter of my home and giving me tips about cutting back shrubs, mulch, caulking holes, etc. He did spend a lot of time answering my questions about termites. But I'm not sure how truthful he was. Hullett advertises a and quot;No Tentand quot; treatment for drywood termites. At first, that sounds really appealing. Tenting is obviously a lot of money and work. Here's the problem with no-tent treatment: the areas where drywood termites (or evidence of them) are found gets sprayed with chemicals. But those kind of termites live in the wood, and you rarely see them, unless they are swarming. They also eat very slowly. So, you may have them in other areas beyond where you see evidence. Tenting with Vikane is the only way to definitely kill them all. Even the termite supervisor told me that he would tent my house if he were in my shoes. I was frustrated with Hullett, in that our home had been under warranty with them for 9 years. Every year, they supposedly came to inspect the house. They obviously didn't do a very thorough job, to have not found the damage that I found. I've learned that it is very important to ask them to inspect INSIDE your home when they come for the annual inspection (if you have a warranty with them). After learning that we also had drywood termites, I got estimates from 6 pest control companies (including Hullett). Hullett was the most expensive. We are not renewing our subterranean agreement with them. I just had Beaches Environmental do a drywood fumigation (tent) of our home this week. They also installed a Sentricon system. I'm not sure if I'll have better luck with them, but after months of research, I felt like I made the best decision.
Description of Work: We moved into our home in June 2012, and it had a Subterranean termite warranty on it from Hullett. I learned that in 2003, Termidor was applied to the exterior of the home. A few days after moving in, I discovered subterranean termite damage in a closet wall. I contacted Hullett. The customer service ladies would not give me information on the history of the home, so other than learning about the 2003 treatment, I had no way of knowing what had been going on in the house in prior years. They did send out a tech, and he did treat the outside of the house (near where the termite damage was found) with more Termidor). A few weeks later, the termite supervisor came out and used a radar device to measure movement in the wall. None was detected. He inspected the attic above the wall, and found evidence of drywood termites. UGH! We had the wall torn down, and Hullett came and sprayed Borate inside.
