Comcast

I have been using them for at least four years. They are outrageously priced. I pay over $200 a month for our service. Back earlier on maybe a year ago or so, they were having a lot of outages, but they claimed that it was because they were upgrading the system and they had to take it offline to add something and they put it back up. I am a computer scientist, retired, so I had resources here in my home to check the veracity of their statements and I was using internet as a milestone measure and sure enough, every time they told me that they were upgrading the system, I was able to verify it. My internet is quite speedy right now. I am very happy with that. Now, they are finished with their upgrades and things have stabilized. Except for rare occasional equipment failure, they are pretty reliable. Their quality is excellent. When I call them on the phone, I have to go through their robot-call screening to get to a person, but I have always been able to get a hold of somebody whether it is on my first call or whether I leave them my call back number and they call me when they are available. I have always been able to talk to a person and have always been able to get my problem resolved. Generally when there is a cable outage, they always overestimate the time of the outage by hours. They will say something like they expect to have it back online by 3:30 and it is 10 o’ clock in the morning and generally, it is back online by 10:30. So, I really do not have any complaints about their punctuality. The only people I dealt with are people associated with their phone service or telephone representative and they always are professional so I have no complaints there. If I did not have their services, I would shop around, but they are the only cable provider. They have a monopoly here where I live. I live out in the Styx, a very small town. Comcast is the only provider. It is either that or one of the satellite services. I would definitely look at the satellite services before I sign up with Comcast again, but they are the only cable provider. So from a cable provider standpoint, I would be signing up with them again.

Over the last two years, compaints to management and State of Florida, many tech visits, more lousy service.

They are okay. I do not think they need to charge as much, but then again I suppose they think they do. They are very responsive and punctual; they give you a window, and they are definitely here within that window. I would continue using them unless somebody wants to give a really good deal.
