Description of Work: Refinished a rusting bathtub. Unfortunately, the bathtub continued to rust and had to be replaced along with the surrounding tile costing us $2300 a year later even though we were told that refinishing the tub would take care of the rusting.

Description of Work: Refinished a single unit bathtub/shower unit by first filling in and bonding small spider cracks on the floor and the side of the tub, and then refinishing the entire unit. Was pleased with the initial prep work and amount of effort expended in preventing any possible spillages in the application. Surrounding areas were also protected. Work was completed in a timely manner and at very little inconvenience to us. Very pleased.

I remodeled a bathroom that included a walk in shower. The house was built in the 90's but used tile from the 70's. Pink and Green. But, the tile was in pretty good shape. I used a mulit-tool and removed a strip of tile around the perimeter in the middle, sanded down the concrete board, and installed glass and granite decorative tile (more on that later). I had refinished a tub in Miami years back and figured I could do a quick, less expensive redo of the shower by having it refinished. I had a quote a few months back from the company whose website is very prominent for south Florida on Google. Man in Canada, sub-contracts locally. The sub came up from Miami and gave me a quote over $1k. I knew this was too much. I continued my remodel and took another look this time via Angie's List and found All Coastal. Not too many reviews from customers so I was initially concerned. But what I did read impressed me and the fact that he was local made me think I could get it done in a timely manner. So I gave him a call. My quote went up a bit when he saw the size of my enclosure...but it was in the ballpark of what I was expecting. I asked for bright white for the walls and a tan for the floor with extra sand in the floor finish since you can't use a suction-cup floor mat. It came out exactly as I wanted it. Found a few areas where it ran and they sanded those and re-applied. They also found some blemishes that I didn't initially see and they came back and applied another coat to the bottom half. Now back to my point about the decorative tile. This is a great option to add some contrast. Use a small rotary cutting wheel, such as with a Dremel type tool. The mistake I made was doing this BEFORE I had the tile refinished. It just makes it more complicated for them...having to mask over it and risk marring the finish. He advised me, and I pass this on, remove the tile for your decorative work and leave that area exposed. Then after the refinishing, go back and install and grout. In the end it looks great. I did not want to prolong this remodel, all the precision tile cutting around the window and cutouts in the wall. Change the hardware on your fixtures after and get a shiny new replacement drain cover and it will look great.

Looks fantastic and I have had so many POSITIVE comments from my friends and relatives who visit.
Description of Work: Juan resurfaced my old 1962 Pink bathtub and bathroom wall to a beautiful white finish. He cleaned up and left my bathroom looking so new, I couldn't even tell that he had been there. He also negotiated with the price as I was running low on remodeling funds. He is a fair and honest business man.

Phone call to get information and prices. Got clear, detailed description of the process and work. Checked for other refinishers, and none seemed as knowledgeable or willing to give a lot of details over the phone. Juan, the owner, gave me a thorough telephone description of the work, including materials, process and schedule. The technician arrived on time, Juan came later and both were very professional and competent. The transformation of a tub that is over 50 years old and began as a bright lime green is now gleaming white, with a non slip surface on the bottom, is almost unbelievable. All of my friends who have seen the before and after are astounded at the change. I would recommend the services of All Coastal unreservedly. I believe him when he says he will stand behind the work and solve problems to my satisfaction (and his). Hence I hired All Coastal and they showed up at the agreed time. Got the project going after some further clarifying about the process. All nearby floor and wall surfaces were protected with masking and drop cloths. The tub was prepped and coated. The next day, the tech came back and removed the masking and caulked all appropriate seams and joints. He reinstalled the faucet hardware and left a beautiful tub.
Description of Work: Refinish a 1957 dull, scratched, and ugly lime or avocado green (hard to tell, since it was so dulled and worn) cast iron bathtub. Make it white and new looking.

We bought the house from a flipper who redid the inside -- painted all the rooms, installed new tile throughout, put in a completely new kitchen and new bathroom fixtures. But for some odd reason, he left a filthy tub in the main bathroom. I used everything I could think of to try to clean it, but nothing worked. So I called Juan Cepeda, owner of All Coastal, whom I was referred to by someone on Angie's List who did not work in St. Lucie County, where I live. Mr. Cepeda came over the next day, gave me an estimate -- which was higher than for a normal tub, he said, because Roman tubs are bigger, and because my project required more work due to the nature of what had been done to it. He explained that someone had poured white latex paint to try to hide the many cuts in the bathtub -- probably done, he said, by the tile installers. (There is new tile surrounding the tub.) Though it's not part of the job, he agreed to go to Home Depot and get a new drain and other hardware for the tub, and installed them when the job was done. Before he started work, he covered everything with brown paper -- floors, countertops, mirrors, towel racks, cabinets, etc., -- and taped it in place. He refinished the tub, and came back the next morning to finish the job. He said to let it set for 48 hours instead of the usual 24, because he put two coats on the bottom of the tub instead of the normal one. He said he thought the refinish would hold, but if it didn't to call him and he would fix any holes or bubbles. He was right: The finish has held and looks beautiful! Better than brand new -- it really shines. He cleaned up all the paper, and even put come new caulking on my vanity -- certainly not part of the job! He was thoroughly professional and polite, and did a first-rate job. I paid him a little more than he quoted because the tub was in such bad shape to begin with, and he did many little extras for me, such as going to Home Depot, and installing the hardware. I recommend this young man without reservation.
Description of Work: He refinished a Roman tub in my bathroom, which the previous owner had poured paint into in an attempt to hide the tub's many flaws.
