Bob, with Air Source 1, LLC, came out to the house and without a written estimate began replacing parts without even letting us know what he was doing or how much it would cost. Then presented us with a bill for what he claimed to have done. He spoke with my son, Raymond as an interpreter only, because we speak limited English when it comes to technical terms, such as the work being done. The repairs lasted approximately 40 minutes before the house started heating up again. Bob didn't answer the phone or return our calls until my granddaughter, Celia, called. She left a message for Bob on both numbers provided on the invoice and he returned her call. She's helping write this because she experienced Bob personally. Celia - I asked him some direct questions regarding no written estimate prior to beginning work and he had a negative tone with me immediately. I let him know that the repairs failed right away and he didn't care. He claimed that Raymond, gave him permission to do the work, which is a false statement. He also claimed that the worked he performed could have been expected to last 1 hour, 1 week, or 1 year. I asked him if he discussed other options with my grandparents and he said that he offered them the use of a portable A/C until the house cooled down, but that was it. He also stressed that he had been out their house 4 times, also a false statement, and that he charges $95.00/hr and was doing them a favor by coming out. I asked him why he complete that kind of work if he only expected it to last for such a short time and then he said he, "wasn't going to continue this conversation," and then hung up on me. I have since visited his website and witnessed the 100% guarantee that his company offers. There was no concern that the work failed so quickly, nor any mention of his guarantee and whether he planned to honor it. I called Bob again, but it went to voicemail. Via voicemail I informed him that I would take to the internet and report reviews on his poor performance, service, price, quality and professionalism. I hope that this reaches all consumers so no one else will fall prey to his tactics, especially elderly immigrants just trying to live their lives in health and peace.
Description of Work: Bob, with Air Source 1, LLC, came out to the house and checked the A/C. No cool, found compressor locked up. Replaced contactor and dual capacitor, and added hardstart kit.

I just called for a Maintenance call to make sure my ac was working properly and clean They very good they should me how clean the ac is and how they changed the filter. They called me before they would up for the appointment to make sure I was home in the morning. I will call them again.

This complaint is from Feb of 2013. Our company was there in Sept 11th 2013. The service call was for replacing a thermostate repalcing a capacitor and adding a Hard Start Kit, The second call on Sept 13th 2013 and we cleaned the coil. I am nto sure if [MEMBER] had someone else out to him in Feb of that year and had some problems but it was not our company. Please have him look at his records to see which company he had so he can have some closure in tis case.

Description of Work: Air Source one does my yearly AC checkups which includes a top to bottom check of the system and condenser cleaning. I have also used them for troubleshooting and repairs on my system. They are extremely knowledgeable with all types of systems including the computerized operating systems of today. I highly recommend their service if you want it done right the first time and at a reasonable cost.

I originally called another company, Air Temp, to do a tune up on my outside unit, which is a Ruud that is still under warranty. They only found a small leak in the AC coil. The tech from Air Temp told me I didn’t have to change it now; I could wait 7-8 months. I asked them how much it would cost to replace the whole unit, and they said about $4300. Then I called this company, Air Source 1 in the first week of November to get another quote. When the tech came here, I asked him about the cost of replacing the unit and he told my wife and I it would be $3200. I wanted to go with that price; however we wanted a more energy efficient air handler. The tech never explained to me that the heat pump is 16 SEER. I also never received a proposal about the total work that was being performed. He only gave me an invoice that was dated three days after the work was completed. All the invoice said was replace and remove AC with a serial and a model number. I thought that the invoice I signed was for the new unit. When he came back to install it, I asked if he needed a permit from the city to do the job. He said he did not, as he was only swapping them. I went inside and called someone from the city, and I was told that he did need a permit and that he was violating code. During the installation of the air handler, a piece of cardboard was placed on top of it to prevent debris from going into the air handler fan. When the owner left to go to lunch, he told the trainee on the site to let the tech know that the cardboard had to be removed. The trainee forgot to tell him this, and they sealed the insulation over it, not knowing that the cardboard was inside the unit. After he started testing everything, it blew up the insulation and the compressor. He acted nonchalant and said it was no big deal, claiming it was easy to replace the compressor. We were very upset, and wanted the whole thing replaced, as we had purchased a brand new unit, and not a compressor repair. He came into my house, and called the distributor of the Ruud units. He lied to the distributor, and claimed the unit had a defective compressor from the factory, and that the customer was very upset because of this. He left for the day, and that night it got cold in our home. I tried to use my heat pump, and it did not work. This was about 11 pm and I decided not to call the company until the next morning. I let him know my heat pump was not working, and he began to yell at me and said I did not tell him to install one, just the air conditioning. The only thing in paper that I received from them was an invoice with two serial numbers, and I did not know what they meant, or that it was just for the AC only. Four days later I called the bank and disputed the $3400. The bank faxed the company to let them know I was doing so, and he called me immediately and demanded that I pay him $1000 more for the heat pump and installation. I let him know that I was not interested in his service, and that I also knew that he had needed a permit to do the work in the first place. He hung up on me at that point. I called the city and I told them what happened. The person in the office confirmed that they knew about this, and that he had actually come in that morning to get the permit. This was four days after the installation. I started a complaint case, and the city sent an investigator to the house, finding several violations. I called the person in charge of giving a rebate to Florida residents who install a new unit, and I was told it was against Florida law to replace a heat pump with a straight AC unit only. Also, the company lied to me about the amount of the rebate I would be receiving, and they never gave me the proper paperwork to redeem this. Later on, I also discovered that a wire was installed incorrectly in my air handler that could potentially cause a house fire. We need someone who has a permit, we would like the money back to the bank, and we need the wrong unit removed from my house. In the letter he sent me, it said the AC was broken and had to be replaced right away, and also that it was explained to me about the heat pump and the AC several times, which was untrue. My wife is witness to everything that was said and done as well. We are elderly, disabled people. We were deliberately misled and taken advantage of.

Air Source 1 January 5, 2015 [member name removed] called us for a free estimate for a new A/C system. While giving the estimate [member name removed] complained profusely about Speedy Air Conditioning who installed his last system. He told us how they lied to him and the poor job they did and that they needed a new system right away because they are both ill with heart problems. They persisted it was so hot in their house they were walking around practically naked for relief. [member name removed] affirmed he wanted a 16 SEER unit and no less. WE explained that only straight A/C systems come in 16 SEER. This was fully explained to [member name removed] and his wife. We have all the signed contracts showing he agreed to the 16 SEER 3.5 ton A/C with 10kw electric heat package. [member name removed] wanted financing as well. Our manager went by the [member name removed] house several times beginning the 7th of November 2014 to go over the financing options and have them sign the paperwork for the financing. We have all the paperwork which includes the model of the A/C units and date of application and date of installation which is required for the financing to be approved. The [member name removed] were approved to being the installation and we began an emergency installation because of their heart problems on Thursday the 13th of November 2014 finishing late Friday the 14th of November 2014. The city of Port St. Lucie allows for next day permits in case of an emergency. Both the [member name removed] talked to every employee regarding there heart problems so we installed the unit and then applied for the permit which was Monday morning because the city is not open on the weekends. WE have every signed paper which states that we were installing a 16 SEER A/C with 10kw heat package. We discussed in detail with both the [member name removed] that there is not 16 SEER heat pump. At this time [member name removed] has gone to every extent to slander our business. He says he wants a heat pump. We have no problem accommodating this request however there is a difference in price for a heat pump compared to a straight A/C. As well as a cost to take out the contracted unit and put in the heat pump. [member name removed] refuses to pay the difference and insist we release the money for the financing. ON the contract [member name removed] agreed to give us the balance in a check for $80.00 which he stopped payment on as well. We believe we had done everything we could to help the [member name removed]. We went to their home on many occasions to go over the unit that would be installed. In fact as you can see on the contract he was firm that the unit was a 2014 unit because Speedy gave him an older unit. We made sure the unit is a current 2014 model. As soon as his financing went through we pulled our technicians to do an elegancy install because of their health issues. We would be happy to change out the system for the difference in price. I have used this company for the last two years and have been very satisfied with their workmanship.The crew arrived at approximately 9:00 A.M. One crew member was outside the building cleaning out and vacuuming the condensate drain lines ..The other crew member was entering each of the units, placing the pellets in the AC units and inspecting each unit.. When that work was completed they both came into my unit and replaced the defective unit in my enclosed back patio.The crew was very courteous to all of the unit owners.They cleaned up after themselves and removed the packing materials from my replacement AC unit..They were quite efficient and completed the entire project in about (4) hours...
Description of Work: Their crew came to our 72 unit building and cleaned out all of the AC condensate drain lines for each air conditioning unit. They also inspected all of our individual AC units and placed algae reducing pellets into their respective drain pans. At this same installation the crew removed and replaced an individual patio air conditioner which i had supplied.

It was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. Upon calling their office we were greeted with a very friendly person and helpful. She had the owner to our house within an hour. Bob the owner understood our situation with no A/C and the extremely hot and humid temperatures at the time. He had our A/C unit installed the next day. I would recommend this company and will use them for our maintenance.
