A & J Appliance Repair Service

He came down and it was remarkable how straightforward and honest he was. He told us that we didn't need to repair anything but rather just hit the reset button and he only charged us for a service call.

Called A and J for repairs, told them I got their name from Angie's List they were very accommodating and asked several times for a good review. Tony came out on time as scheduled. He removed the freezer drawers and did his repair, before leaving he mentioned to my wife it may leak a couple of times and if it persists give us a call back. Well it did leak several times and we waited a while just to see if it stopped. That's when the fun started. On 4/6 my wife called it in and explained to woman who answed the phone what transpired. She advised my wife there would be a service charge to come out. I called back and repeated what Tony the repair man said, I also mentioned I had been in the auto service business for over 40 years and I don't feel I am being unreasonable. I just want what I paid for, which was to stop the leak on my fridge. That's when all the excuses came out, she asked when the service was provided, and I replied don't you have a record of repairs, sarcastically she said they only keep records for 30 days. She then put Charlie on the phone who was more sarcastic than her. I told them I would reluctantly look through my check register to get a date for them. When I called back with the date I heard nothing but excuses not to honor their repair. I had just wanted them to come out and check it without a service call and if the repair needed additional parts I didn't have a problem with that. Just check it out. She hung up the phone on me. These people a very unprofessional and would not recommend them to do any repairs. A good business always attempts to rectify a problem, they did nothing but put gas on the fire. At this point, I'll pay someone else to do the repair correctly, I do not want them back to my home, I just want others to know how they operate. It's easy to take peoples money it takes a reputable company to resolve a problem in a fair and professional manner. Sincerely Joe Monticello

I told the office what was probably wrong but was told a call with an upfront charge of $90 was required. I advised that the fridge door gasket on my samsung fridge freezer was bad and needed replacement but they said a call was still required. The guy arrived within the agreed time and agreed with my initial thoughts and then went on to say that the back of the fridge was iced up and a coil would need to be removed and the total bill would be about $500. I asked how much the seal would cost and was told $120 per door (french door style). I knew from some web searching I could get a gasket for $40 delivered. A saving of $160 right off the bat. I also asked that if the seal were replaced, if the icing would correct its self. He agreed it probably would. So, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. IMHO THEY REALLY PAD THE BILL. The new $40 gasket arrived and the fridge performs great. It is a 5 minute job to remove and replace the old gasket. An additional complaint is that when I mentioned Angies List discount of 5%, I was told the total price was way better than the Angies discout.

Came same day I called. Frig wasn't cooling properly.

Cody arrived in the "middle" of the service window. He was personable, professional and knowledgable. He replaced a faulty connector, and gave me the old one. He went up on the roof to be sure we had good air flow in the vent. He double checked the circuit breaker and all was well. I wouldhave no hesitation recommending this company-

rude Showed up after a three day wait. Fiddled around for an hour. Charged me $70 and told me if there was a problem they would return at no charge. The next time I ran the dishwasher, it still leaked all over the floor. The lady who answered the phone number on their invoice, claimed they hadn't done the work, that I was a liar and refused to honor their warranty. Incompetent, rude thieves.

. Cody first asked me what the problem I thought was wrong with the washing machine. Once I explained he opened the washing machine up and checked it. He came to the realization that there was a major problem and that it was going to cost more to fix it than to purchase a new one. He advised that I purchase the same type of machine that I had since they normally last a long time and are easy to fixed for the most part.

I thought it might be days before I could get my dryer fixed. I called A &J and they sent someone same day! The service provider was efficient and informative. I will defintely use them again if I need repair in the future

Came out in only one day. Right on time, tech (Vincent) was polite and professional. He showed me exactly what was wrong-the unit was in very poor condition and replaced it quickly and efficiently. All this in sharp contrast to Sears Home repair (it is a Kenmore fridge) that only replaced a chip that lasted 4 months and cost a whole lot more. I couldn't be more pleased that I found a company to handle all my repairs..

Refrigerator not cooling properly for sometime even though it was turned to maximum cooling setting. Called this provider. Sent someone out same day even though was not a true emergency. Vinny diagnosed the problem, gave us the cost which we agreed to, and proceeded to replace the thermostat. He was a very nice young man and seemed very knowledgeable in diagnosing the problem. We had considered buying a new refrigerator as this one came with the house. Today we are very happy. It is on normal setting and cooling like new. Appreciate the prompt service. He actually called and came sooner than the time given initially. Would be happy to recommend to anyone and would use again. Found them on Angie's but did not use coupon on Angie's list as they gave a senior discount which was the same discount as the coupon.

It went very well. As the tech was getting ready to defrost the freezer line he took the time to show me where the problem was and how he was going to fix it. When the job was completed he took the time to clean up what little mess the water made. They called to let me know they were on the way and about what time he would be there. Right on the button. Fixed bother job left by another supplier

I called because I was getting a burning smell in the dryer. A&J was able to come that day. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone believed I probably needed a "vent job" and gave me a price of $139 ($10 off because I mentioned Angies List). They called me prior to arrival to let me know they were on their way. Cody arrived on time and I explained the situation. He asked me a few questions and then went to work. I always thought that dryer vent cleaning was a rip off, but was I wrong!! Cody removed a large piece of dried lint that had hardened in the vent and created a block. In addition when he pulled the front of the dryer it was loaded with lint! After spending an hour working on the dryer he was done. I cannot believe how much better my dryer is operating - it now dried clothes in a snap! I am very happy with their service and will use them again.

They came out the same day that I called and had the issue fixed within 20 minutes. They were very friendly and showed me the issues they dealt with and how to help prevent them in the future. Price was fine, as expected. Fridge is now blasting cold air once again. We'll use them again in the future if we need!

A violent electrical storm caused my freezer to quit working. I could hear the condenser clicking, trying to come on, over and over. I hoped it would correct itself overnight; that didn't happen. I awoke to a puddle of water on the kitchen floor from the melting ice in my refrigerator's icemaker. All the frozen food was squishy. I called A&J at 8 a.m. and they were at my house by 10:30 a.m. In 20 minutes Tom and his apprentice installed a new relay and overload thingy. (I don't pretend to know what that is; I'm reading the receipt.) I got a generous $25 discount for being an Angie's List member. Tom also cleaned the refrigerator coils for free (my husband kept meaning to "get around to it" but, as he says, "a round tuit is hard to find"). I am thrilled at the response to my call, at their proficiency and efficiency, and in the price. Angie's List makes me look smart and well-connected! We appreciate the responsiveness of this company. I called on a Sunday and they were able to schedule Corey to come out on Monday morning. When I called again to check on when he was coming since I was given a 8-11 a.m. window of time, I was told exactly when. Corey was very thorough and honest. Our washer was not worth fixing due to the price of the part and repair. Thank you!

Called at about3:30 on Friday afternoon. Cody was here before 4:30. Problem was due to ice buildup in the freezer, in the bottom freezer of our Frigidaire refrigerator preventing the freezer closing completely. Food was thawing and there was a lot of moisture condensation. Cody removed the ice and checked waterlines and icemaker. Everything seemed to be operating properly. He told us to call him if problems persisted and copied the Model # and Serial # of the refrigerator so he would be able to bring the correct ice maker with him if replacement was necessary. Cory was personable and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him.

Tony and Vinny did a fabulous job. They were polite, quick to diagnose the problem and quick to fix the problem. Everything is working like a dream. I am so glad I didn't renew my warranty with Best Buy, where I bought the appliances. They are quick to take your money, but it isn't worth the aggravation of dealing with customer service and waiting for someone to show up. I will be calling them today to do a repair on my dryer.

The problem and work was thoroughly explained to us. All work was completed and the dryer works great. We were also advised about a problem with the exterior dryer vent that we weren't aware of.

We had used this same company, about a year and a half ago, for a repair to the freezer size of our refrigerator, which had abruptly stopped freezing. The Technician was very prompt and professional, and quickly determined it was due to the failure of the motor within the freezer (due to age), which cost about $275.00 to replace. Just as when we had the refrigerator repair done, the company was very responsive when we called about the need for a repair to our dryer, and an appointment was scheduled for the very next morning. Just as before, when we had the refrigerator repair done, this Technician was also prompt and professional. When we called for the appointment, we were advised that there was a service call fee of $89.95, but said fee would be applied towards the cost of any repairs we authorized to be made to our dryer (as had been the case when we had had the refrigerator repair previously). Unfortunately, the Technician quickly determined that, due a fire having melted the circuit board, that repairs were not feasible, and explained that our only option was to consider purchasing another dryer. (When we had the old dryer removed, and the new dryer installed, the cause of the fire...which we were so very fortunate had not ignited and spread to the house...was a plastic "collar stay", that had apparently become dislodged from one of my husband's shirts, and had made it's way to the opening where the dryer vent connects to the house, and lint had backed up, around the collar stay, in that connection.) Based on both of our experiences with A&J, we will use this company again if we should ever be in need of any future repairs to any major appliances.

Technician knowledgeable and helpful, but dishwasher was not worth repairing. The company charges $5 more for use of credit card. They gave a four hour window for the appointment and called when actually in route.

Called the office @ 10:30 Cody arrived @ 12:45 job was finished by 13:30 Great Job!

Very pleased with work performed. Very honest. I would use again. Thank you for your professionalism and honesty.

Although he could have repair it without saying the real problem, we greatly appreciated his honesty.
