A & J Appliance Repair Service

Lets say not well. Had out maybe 6 times. Prices were terrible as he has one guy for sub zero driving 2 hours to get there.

I am writing this to warn anyone from using A& J Appliance!!!!! I got their name from your list and what a mistake that was. At the initial service call they said a part was needed and they would need to come back as they didn’t have it on their truck (a very common part).Two days later an appointment was made for 5pm and the technician arrived almost 2 hours late and installed that part….but that did not fix the problem. They arrived almost 2 hours late again the next day and now realized they had misdiagnosed the problem and another part was needed, which should have been noticed right away as the piece that was damaged was right in the front of the refrigerator. The same technician was extremely rude and unapologetic for his mistake. Two days later the new part was installed and the technician left without cleaning up his mess or apologizing for his mistake. The refrigerator still does not work properly after almost $300 of repairs. I would DEFINITELY not recommend this company to anyone …as they are extremely unprofessional, rude and incompetent. Please do not use them on Angie’s List if you value your reputation.

I'm a first time user and read a lot of reviews some bad but mostly good. I took a chance on A and J Appliance and so glad I did!! Tony was awesome and got his tech Cory out the same day to take a look at my dryer. Parts were ordered and were to arrive on Friday August 30th. Well Hurricane Dorian came and postponed the repair but Cory called me on Tuesday and came out to replace the heating element. Will definitely call them again and recommend them to all my friends and family. Thank you Tony and Corry!!! One happy customer :) Holly Posadas

I ended up getting a piece I never needed and was overcharged for the piece. The very next day when I went to wash my clothes the machine didn't work and it was twice as worse. I called to ask for a refund, which he agreed to, but then a few hours later a texted a bs story why he couldn't give me a refund. I would never use this service again and wouldn't recommend this service to anyone.

Serviceman decides I needed a lock. After 2 locks were installed he de ides it was more than the lock, it was the computer board. Recommended I purchase a new washer. After new washer was installed, one time we got same error code. Replaced circuit breaker seemed to correct problem. Wondering if really needed new washer.

Marcus, the Tech, was excellent. Did and excellent job and has a lot of Knowledge!

It was done in a timely manner, being the fact we had to wait for the part, which took a couple of days.

VERY BAD, when we call them and ask if they were LG authorize repair company, they responded yes, but once in the house, they did a WRONG diagnosis and refuse to perform a warranty repair. We call LG directly, and they send a "real" tech that fix the problem immediately and explain the problem and that the previous diagnosis was not only incorrect but unprofessionally done. we strongly recommend anyone looking for service, not to hire this company at all, and Angie's list should not recommend them, it gave them a "Bad Name"

Dryer went out Sunday night and i called first thing Monday am. Cody came and checked it out. Three parts were needed and he ordered the parts. Came back on Friday and did the the repairs. He also cleaned the lint out. I was concerned because of the age of the unit but he felt it was worth the repair. So happy we didn’t have to buy a new one right now and it works great.

Sorry I called them. Would never call again.

They were prompt and very professional to fix my mother’s refrigerator. I would refer this company to any friends or relatives.

I called for a appointment to get my ice maker fixed and Tony was nice enough to take the time to troubleshoot my problem over the phone. Within 5 minuets we had the problem solved saving me the $80 service charge. Genuinely nice guy who wasn't just looking to make a buck off me. I will definitely call this company again! Thanks Tony

The serviceman arrived on time and was very nice. He was at the house for less than 5 minutes - the circuit board was shot on the oven and he told me that it would be cheaper to buy a new oven than repair it, so no work was done. I appreciated his honesty and have no complaints about him. But I was charged a $90 service call, even though nothing was done. I have no problem with paying something for them coming out, but I found that to be overpriced.

Have had this washer for 10 years and the door gasket over time gets a build up of mold. We have tried cleaning it and always leave the door open but it was time to replace it. Called A & J because they had done great work on the Dryer and talked for about 15 minutes about the washer. Was told up front that if they replace it and we still leave the door open after the washer is finished that over time the problem will return. Talked about other replacement brands and was given names and models numbers and contacts to call. My point is you just don't see service like this anymore. It was GREAT and if they talked me out of the repair they lost a sale (still deciding what to do) but gain a very happy customer. I will always use them.......

When I called A&J Appliance Repair Co. last Friday, I actually spoke with the Owner, Tony and he sent someone out the next morning. The young gentleman that repaired the freezer was his nephew who was very polite and courteous. It turns out that the freezer line was clogged and he had it unclogged in a few minutes. He was very neat and cleaned up where he was working, They charge a flat rate of $129 but gave me a discount of 10% for being an Angie's List member. I am duly impressed with this company and would definitely use them again! I give them an A+

I called this morning because we woke up to a refrigerator that wasnt cooling. They called before showing and showed up on time. Normally you dont see that with service companies. They came out in the afternoon and had the part to fix the refrigerator. Being a first time customer I am highly impressed with this company.

Tech was very informative on presenting alternatives to us for this 15+ year old refrigerator. Will definitely use this company again and refer to neighbors and friends. I believe that this is a truly HONEST company!

This company came out to do a repair on our refrigerator (black specs in the water and ice). The technician (Marcus) diagnosed the problem and we asked, "What happens if your diagnosis is incorrect, we spend all this money and it isn't fixed?" He said just to call him (Marcus) directly and he would come back to repair the problem properly without another service call. He did the work and we paid the company. A couple weeks later we noticed the refrigerator leaking slightly and the problem still not fixed. We called back and texted him - he said he would return. We waited and waited, he never did contact us. After a few months of just living with it we finally gave up on him and called the company directly. Their owner said we shouldn't have listened to his employee and should have called the company directly. Because we followed his employees instructions and didn't call the company he rudely said we waited too long and they won't come back without charging another service call and we'll have to pay for all additional charges. These are dishonest people - don't take a chance and don't believe them.

Called and scheduled an appointment for them to come out between a certain amount of hours on a specific day. Took off from work, and they did not show. When I called to inquire why, they told me they left a message to have me call back and confirm appointment, which was not true. There was no message. Then they said they never took my address down, which wasn't true. It was the first thing they asked, to see where I was located. It made me uncomfortable that he was arguing with the customer. I used another local service and was out pay for the day from not working.

Took Cody's suggestion and obtained a new machine.

Job stayed until the problem was resolved.

Joe from A & J Appliance Repair just left my house after repairing my 7 year old Whirlpool bottom freezer and top French door fridge. Joe was prompt (he actually had to wait on me to get home from work), very courteous and professional. Within 5 minutes of arriving, he knew what the problem was and fixed it. He said at 1st it could be the starter relay or the compressor so he installed the relay and that took care of it. He could have told me it was the compressor and charged me $800.00 unsteady of the $154.00 he charged me and I wouldn't have known the difference. Very honest and personable. Thanks Joe! Hopefully I won't need you again but if ido, you will be my 1st and only call. It is nice to know there are honest people left in your line of work.

Excellent! On time and Cody was great. Cleaned vent and walked me through the process. All was cleaned up after vent was cleaned.
