Everything was great until you sign the contract and begin. Was promised everything under the sun to get you to sign. Signed contract in 12/2013. Home still had not had punch list finished in 2/2015. Everything based on allowances yet the prices kept changing. Sewer system started at $15,000 and went up to $40,000 once we were building.Prices quoted were always increased as work was done. Fireplace on allowance but then added charge to frame fireplace in. If that's not inflating charges, I don't know what is. Changed some selections on their own without ever consulting us and then handed us thousands of dollars in change orders. We agreed to some change orders like bead board at 4ft high only to end up with 2ft bead board still at same price. Not very much of a custom builder when they allow subcontractors to do what is easiest for them instead of proper way such as glass tile in shower cut with nippers or grinder, backsplash tile installed around outlets with relief cuts in tile to avoid time consuming cutouts. Staggered wood flooring pattern changed in same room in order to avoid more cuts. Wiring for in cabinet puck light drilled through cabinet shelves inside the cabinet instead of hidden behind. Installed horizontal stainless steel cable for deck railings that began to rust within 2 weeks of installation.What was supposed to be our $10,000 landscape and driveway allowance ended up being used for fill for footprint of house which should have been included with contract. Just all around bait and switch and used inferior products wherever they could . Anyone considering them should contact other homeowners and not the ones they provide you which happen to be business partners or friends. Go to the various shops, contractors, or residents and you will hear the same. Find other owners and you will hear the truth. 15 months of a very exhausting and frustrating experience.
