I used Four Star homes to broker my mobile home purchase. Problems with the home went undisclosed until after the purchase was made. Company denies any responsibility. Beware! I strongly advise you use another broker. I wish I did!

Initially listed my home with them March 28, 2014. I listed with them because I had seen their signs in the community I lived in and I visited their website and also saw ads in the local newspaper. The Agent was very friendly and told me she had sold home(s) and would do whatever it took to get my home sold. It was a lie. After I signed the Listing Agreement, she informed me that she did not work weekends, and that Sundays was her day with her husband. I was traveling a lot from May-June and expected the house to be sold at some point during that time. When I came home from my first trip, in early May, the house had not been shown at all. Neighbors told me they had not seen anyone even drive by the house or stop to look. I asked her if she did an open house and she said she had not. I begged her to have an Open House and finally, on a Thursday morning at 10:00am she had an Open House. When I got home at 11:30am, she was already packed up to leave, because "nobody came by". There was no advertising except a sign that day at the entrance to the community that there was an Open House. I guess she expected to just catch people as they drove down Nova. I begged her to put advertising in the newspaper and she told me she could not afford to and she told me she had someone else putting it on Craigslist and she had it on the website. After I was gone again for the month of June and came back the 4th of July, I noticed that nothing had been done to show it. During this time, we increased and decreased the price of the home. Her "broker" told her if I would lower it down $4,000 it would sell quick. Surprise. It did not. Then she got on a kick about how if the home had central a/c it would sell. I had bought a commercial portable a/c 13,500BTU unit that cooled the entire 850sf home. It was more efficient than a central a/c unit and I could not afford central a/c at that time. She told me she could not guarantee the home would sell with it. On the 7th of July, I went into the brokers offices and fired her. Instead, they gave me a new agent whom I was told would sell the home since he was in my community. Well, here we are again, almost 5 weeks later and I have not had an Open House. I was given the song and dance and now, the new agent says, "if you pay the $300 you can opt out of the contract and take your home off the market". My contract is up the end of September. I am just going to wait it out at this point. I am thoroughly disgusted with this company and their "Agents". It has also come to my attention that these people are not realtors. They are licensed through the Department of Motor Vehicles. When you do not own the land, these vultures charge 30% to sell your mobile homes. They try to rope you into a 12-month contract and I told them no more than 6 months. Thank goodness I did that. I will sell the home myself, after the contract is up. DO NOT hire them. You will be very disappointed. My home has been on the market for 5 months now with a plethora of price-points.
Description of Work: Listed my mobile home for sale.
