The experience with Shirley was very frustrating, very unprofessional. This agent acted as if she totally didn't care. She made no attempts to contact my son on a weekly basis to say what she was doing. Because he was out of town, he left me and his brother in charge of overseeing the property. She thought she could do exactly as she wanted. At the beginnning, she came across as a friendly and gentle person, at the end, she totally changed. She took the listing over from one of her team members who was nice, but less experienced. She assured him that she would do the best she possibly could, however this would not be true. Even when she set up to take the pictures, the man who took the pictures called my son anal because he didn't want to put on protective booties to walk throughout the house, and we overheard this. She had no real interest in dealing with him or us, she had other things to do. She was pursuing another profession and that took precedence over what she was supposed to be doing as an agent. We made attempts with my son's direct okay to inform her boss about her actions. Of course, that went nowhere, she actually became worse. She refused to work with me, even after I attempted to get someone to purchase the townhouse through her. She said that she had someone to buy the house when I told her about the plan. Then, all of a sudden, it didn't work out. My people lost interest because they wanted to buy the house outright. Things went downhill after that. When I called to speak to her after we hadn't got any communication from her, she was at a conference for a workshop. I was trying to talk to her and she yelled very nastily and said "Don't call me again, I have nothing to say to you! You don't have the right to tell me about extending the contract! This is not your house and I'll only talk to your son!" She informed me in a very nasty tone to never call her again. She didn't communicate with my son, so he called us to see what was going on, and he said he didn't want to use her anymore because he wasn't pleased with her. This was a horrible experience, Coldwell Banker won't be used anymore, and I suggest that Shirley Lee is not an agent to deal with. This doesn't reflect on the other agents at her office. About a month and a half after the blowup, my son tried calling her at the end of the contract, she didn't respond. He told her to give his brother the key and to let him know when she was taking her stuff out. Not only did Shirley not call to set up a time or any other arrangements, when my younger son called the day after the contract expired, Shirley said that everything had already been taken care of, and she left the key. She didn't even arrange to put the key in his hand. We were willing to let her go before, but she convinced us to let her stay on and that the house would be sold. I was surprised by all of this because I bought my house, which I still live in, from Coldwell Banker 23 years ago and had a completely different experience. This experience led us to not ever deal with Coldwell Banker again. There's no one that you can follow up with for a complaint. No one takes it seriously, and you can't reach anyone else there. This leads me to believe that agents like Shirley can do what she wants, and has for years. It's a shame because there are other agents who are much better than that, but one bad apple will spoil the bunch. This is just our experience and what happened to us in our opinion. I'm quite sure that lots of customers have had better experiences, but we didn't have that.
Description of Work: An agent from this office, Shirley Lee, was hired to help sell my older son's townhouse. She hired someone to take pictures of the house and staged it. She also listed it on MLS.
