Albert Waugh Concrete

Didn't even get a return call from Albert to set appointment for an estimate.

The work went very well and the finished product looks great. Best looking driveway in the neighborhood! Albert and his crew were very easy to work with and bent over backwards to make sure we were happy with the work. Tearing out an old driveway is hard work, but they were very careful to minimize any damage to the yard or sprinkler system. The new driveway is much thicker and contains steel reinforcing rods to make it a lot stronger than what we had before.

Albert was the highest quote of the 4 quotes we received. We selected Albert because we felt he would do the best job. We could not have been more wrong. After tearing out out old driveway (1973), Albert complained how thick it was and requested more money. This was after we agreed to a price. That was my first sign how bad Albert was going to be! We put in a new drainfield in the front yard which led to the walkway and driveway to be replaced. Albert was aware of the new drainfield and in fact we delayed his job until it was done. Albert and his crew were told by us repeatedly not to have any equipment near the new drainfield. Albert then authorized a 33 ton cement truck to drive over and park on the new drain field. We found out because 4 different neighbors told us. Albert acted like it was no big deal and said "I bet you $100 it did not even hurt your drain field". Albert also said the cement truck was almost empty when he parked it on the new drain field. I spoke to the cement company directly and the president of the company said that wasn't true, the cement truck was completely full. The president of the cement company also said Albert signed a liability release form to authorize the fully loaded cement truck on the new drain field. My drainfield warranty has now been voided. After the drain field debacle, it went down hill from there. The quality of the job was terrible. It looks like it was done by amateurs. The driveway has different patterns throughout and had rough patches everywhere. The picture frame around the driveway is uneven and crooked and has different colors throughout. There is dirt that dried into the cement so it is permanently dirty. The edge of the driveway where the expansion joints meet is already cracking and chipping. Part of the driveway by the side of the garage has a low spot and holds water. The bottom of the driveway looks like it was repaired with a patch. I wish I had my original 1973 driveway back.. I tried to resolve this with Albert. He initially said it was the cement company's fault because they delievered bad cement. He told me to cancel my credit card payment to the cement company. I paid the cement company directly ($2,373.26) because Albert asked me to. I didn't really think anything about it at the time because I was getting points on my credit card by paying for the cement directly. Come to find out, after discussing the situation with the cement company president, Albert can not have concrete delivered unless it has been paid for up front. Albert told me he was going to make it right. The job quote was $8,600. I paid $5,373.26. $3,000.00 to Albert and $2,373.26 to cement company. I wanted the driveway he told me I would get or refund my money. Albert initially told me he would refund me my $3,000.00 but not the cement. He said he would pay me $500 a week. He then reneged. He said I could go find some one to fix the driveway and pay them the difference I would have owed him. I have the whole thing documented on texts between Albert and me.

Team arrived on time and job was completed on time, totally cleaned up after job. This driveway looks as if it was just installed six months later. Hard working professional crew. Job performed on time at the estimate.

Albert was professional and punctual. His crew worked hard and completed the work on a timely basis. His price was fair based on the various bids we received. We needed this work done quickly as this home is rented weekly during the summer and we didn't want the work to extend into the next week and they got it done as promised. We would use them again.

I called Mr. Waugh's telephone and got a message that the voicemail was full. I then emailed him through Angie's list and did not receive a response. This was the second attempt to get in touch with him. The first time, he indicated he would come by to give an estimate but he never did.

I have left several messages over the course of weeks on office and cell phone. None were ever returned.

I never heard from the contractor. The work has not been done

We're very happy with the results - the price was right and everything went according to plan. Would not hesitate to recommend and use their services again - nice work!

It came out beautiful. They just did what they said they were going to do. They were professional. They were on time. We have no complaints. There was one problem that emerged with a chip in one of the blocks and they replaced that. In fact they told us about it and replaced it. Their price was very competitive. We had people stop down the street and complimented. They kept up the promises that they made all the time. I would recommend them to my friends.

Everything was done within the same week. Albert came out on a Tuesday, the crew came on Thursday and finished on Friday. I worked with Josh the foreman of the crew to finalize the details of the job, he worked it exactly as discussed. Quality and finish of the work seems excellent. I am not sure how much more the color and stamping process costs compared to a plain cement pour, but if you want something that has character, color and stamping is the way to go. Works really well against the paver patio I have.

Creativity and concrete don't usually go in the same sentence, but in Albert's case both apply. His use of rebar and scoring will extend the lives of both the old and the new sections of our driveway. As good as he is at concrete, I think Albert is actually a star surfer dude.

Never showed up on either day. No courtesy call either. I called him late Tuesday afternoon to give him another chance for my business and left a VM asking him to please call me back and never received a phone call. By some other reviews on here seems to be a pattern with this company. Also can't believe this company is listed so high on this site, Unprofessional!! I strongly suggest contacting others on here. Saw the response to another potential customer with a lot of excuses. We're all busy people but you'd think he could at least find two minutes out of the day to call a customer back.

Albert came out to give me an estimate on the work. He was the only company I called for an estimate, not because I didn't know of any others but because I got a good feeling about his abilities and workmanship. He drew up his idea of what he thought would look good and I let him give me suggestions on what color and pattern to use. He really knows his craft and I could sense that in our conversation. His team came out , cleared the area, laid the form boards, poured the concrete and then later came back to finish up the job. My husband and I are very pleased with the out come.

Turned a yard that looked hideous into something that I am now proud to show people. Albert and his crew were the essence of professionalism. I also have to say Albert's design was really out out of the box, and looks so good. I would absolutely, positively recommend Albert to anyone needing concrete work done. I plan on hiring him in the near future to pour a new patio on the front of our house. By the way, I am former construction superintendent that specialized in commercial concrete. I know good work when I see it.

I was pleased with Mr. Darmata. He came out on a Saturday morning to give me a quote and was professional and polite. While I was waiting for Mr. Darmata to get my fencing in, I emailed him and made a change to the original plan I had requested. Diana responded to me the same day, got me a new quote, and made the process easy even though I'm sure it was an inconvenience for me to make that change. Once the materials came in, my fence was installed in less than a day and it looks fantastic. Mr. Darmata did a quality job and I will recommend him to anyone.

I made an appointment with him to come out and give me an estimate to pour a brand new concrete driveway, sidewalk and pads, and he never showed up.

It was a big job and the rains made it tough but we are very happy with the end result. The driveway is beautiful and we are very happy with it in every respect. We have received many compliments from neighbors as well. We are looking forward to many years of use and are pleased with our choice of materials, finish and with the contractor.

He and his crew came when he said they would. The job was done in one day, They came back a day later to clean up the yard, retrieve the wood frames and to make cuts in the concrete to prevent cracking. They did a beautiful job! I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and when I decide to redo my driveway I will call Albert.

I contacted Albert Waugh because I had been referred to several concrete companies by friends and they did not even bother to return the call. This company had good ratings on Angie's List so I gave them a try. I was contacted immediately by Mr. Waugh who arrived as promised and gave me a good estimate. He included rebar to strengthen the driveway and recommended cuts every eight feet to reduce cracking. The job started on time and the driveway was removed....then the rains came! I was contacted by Mr. Waugh and he offered to try to move forward but strongly recommneded we wait for a dryer day. Since I wanted it done right, we waited. The first possible day, they poured and then covered the work with heavy plastic and the driveway is perfect. I was impressed that they leveled the ground and compacted it so that they were pouring over a solid foundation. After the pour was completed, they cleaned up the site and then called to see if I was satisfied before asking for payment. This was a difficult job as it POURED every day around noon to 1 PM but (since clearly they have no control over the weather) we waited and the wait was worth the effort as the job is excellent. Several of my neighbors have been by to compliment the work and one of my friends is going to use this company for her patio. I told Mr. Waugh that they best part was his communication. I did not have to call once to find out what was going on or why there was a delay (though I could figure it out...RAIN!) but he called me anyway. Excellent Company!

The crew of Albert Waugh Concrete was very cooperative and were willing to make minor changes to the plan as the work went forward. They were higher priced than the competitor but they offered and did more with regard to the actual installation. I would use them again in the future.

I wouldn’t hire him to do anything because he came to give me an estimate and it’s been six months now and I haven’t heard from him about the estimate or the plans or anything. He was fine when he came out to talk to me, to give me estimate and tell me about the arrangements. He told me that he would call me in a week but didn’t hear anything from him so I called him back and the answer I got was that he was out of town and would get back to me when he has to which was so rude. I would never recommend him to anybody.

Albert is very polite, his crew always arrived promptly, and work commenced immediately. We are very pleased with the finished result exactly as we requested. The sidewalk has a curve in it from house to workshop that really enhanced the finished product.

We wanted an 11 x 11ft square poured in our backyard for our grill and a table. When he came out, he told us that for no extra charge, he could make it more decorative by changing the shape a bit. I asked him about stamping the concrete and he only charged me a bit more. He suggested a color and pattern and it turned out looking amazing! It is better than I had originally envisioned. It looks very elegant.
