Overall service was fantastic. Whole house was measured then there was a variety of styles and options to meet our budget and desire for a great look. Installation was clean, fast and even earlier than expected. Would certainly recommend!

The story is fantastic. After taking an order and letting Universal know that we would be painting our house first - we were called to say that the order was in way before we needed it. Upon completion of painting the interior of our house I called to say we were ready. They promptly got to it, set up a schedule and within two days were installing. Better service can not be matched.

The service was right on time. Everything was perfect and I would highly recommend them.

Out of all the recent remodeling ventures in my home, this was by far the best experience. I ordered plantation shutters for 4 rooms with large windows. Marc was very professional, had good design ideas on what would work and what would not. He worked around MY schedule and was able to meet me after work and on the weekend. He was extremely patient awaiting for me to decide on white or off-white....lol. I had four estimates and his was next to the lowest. He matched my lowest price and then took off another $50.00. Delivery was just short of 3 weeks and installation took only about an hour and a half for all windows. Marc oversaw the entire installation, and when finished, my four rooms were cleaner then when they started. The shutters look great...saved me money by not having to install drapes......and increased the value of my home. I am an OCD extremely picky person and I would highly recommend Universal Blinds and Shutters!! Thank you Marc!

When we originally had the verticals and blinds installed we were very impressed with the quality of the materials used and the service provided, and the wood blinds are still in very good shape. So of course we contacted them again when we wanted to update the vertical blinds on 2 of our sets of sliding glass doors. The service was prompt and professional. We had new verticals installed in 2 rooms. The owner of the business actually came out tonight to install the blinds, and he is friendly and courteous. The new verticals are a great upgrade to our rooms.

We had used Universal Blinds in the past, at a prior residence, to install a Hunter Douglas product. This product was installed in approximately July of 1997. We were happy with the experience. They were quick to come out to service the blinds over the years, this particular product needed service about once every 4-5 years. In some cases, their troubleshooter came out and in other instances the Hunter Douglas rep came out. Because we had a positive experience in the past, we called on them to give us a quote on installing plantation shutters in our new house. There was no indication from our prior interaction how bad things would go... First, the measuring and estimation went fine. They were responsive enough and we decided to use them for the project. One question the guy who did the estimation had was the width of the windows in 2 of the bedrooms. His concern was that they were at the maximum width limit specified by the manufacturer and the horizontal slats in the blinds may sag as a result. He did say that if that happened, they could swap out the slat "trees" for a different material that would not sag. Well, the installation went OK. As usual (with South Florida contractors), the installers were messy and there were several areas where the "finish" of the work was sub-par. I am speaking about the details; corners matching, screws missing or visible, etc. So, it was not a perfect job, but acceptable and they did return to polish up some of the more glaring mistakes. Within a few weeks, we noticed that the slats were indeed sagging on the wider windows. So, we called to request that they take a look at repairing them as promised. Well, several months and many phone calls later and they finally sent a guy to take a look. He agreed that the trees needed to be replaced. OK, fine, that should be a quick process, right? Wrong. We called every other week for the next year. Each time the lady answering the phone seemed to have forgotten who we were, or said that someone was supposed to call or someone was supposed to have come over, someone was on vacation, etc. Many variations on such excuses. Horrendous customer service. Believe me, stay away from this company. So, finally, about a month ago, they send a guy who takes the trees out of two of the shutters in one of the bedrooms with the wider windows. He says we will have the replacement in a week. OK, great! Looking forward to it. Guess what? Right! We have not heard a peep from them. I am about to call them again, to see what is going on. But I wanted to get the word out there, stay away from this company who obviously has no interest in customer service. There has to be better providers out there in South Florida.
