The company does not have competent customer service. They do not forward messages to management. I had to be very pushy to reach out to a manager. When I finally got the manager to my home the problem was handled. Unfortunately nothing was changed as far as service. The beginning issue was that our dog was getting sick from the chemicals so we asked for dry product to be used instead of spray. Once we had the renovation of new sod and fixed the issues we told TrueGreen that they should treat the yard as saw fit and we would take care of our dog. They never changed the service and now the lawn is mostly weeds and we now have new weeds because the landscaper they hired gave us low quality sod that had weeds already in it before it was laid. Now, when told and management came out to see the damage, the company is wiping their hands of the issue. They don't fix a simple computer instruction issue and have destroyed out lawn. We followed all their directions to care for our lawn, we even fired our landscaper and started mowing our own grass. All we needed was TruGreen to manage the weeds and fertilize but I guess a company that is known for that sits on their name but does not deliver. It's a pity that when you pay a bill and every dollar you spend has 100 cents but the service is not what is promised. I would never use this company again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Sometimes it was fine but eventually this company's incompetence caught up with it. There was constant turnover with technicians, some of whom were rude and lazy. Last summer my lawn had serious issues and they kept guessing what the problem was as it continued to go downhill. I had to keep buying sod to replace bald areas. Meanwhile, TruGreen's office was a joke. They'd have techs come out when they weren't supposed to, then have them not show when they were supposed to, and then make promises to make good and still not show up. Oh, and if you buy any of their services, it gives them the green light to bombard you with up-sales calls for junk you don't need. They'll say they surveyed your yard and you have serious problems, that your trees are going to die unless you order their extra service. You'll get those calls all the time. But ask them which trees and they'll stumble because they have NOT surveyed your yard; they're just taking shots in the dark. In my case, my yard is locked and secluded, so they could not have seen my yard without my knowledge. They lie. I switched to Petri's Pest Control and -- what do you know -- my yard is filling in perfectly again and the weeds are disappearing. And they actually show up when they're supposed to. For only a few dollars more, they even treat my hedges. A much better option.

For 6 months (every 6 weeks or so), they came and sprayed. In August, 2017, I found mounds of dirt and tunnels in my yard. I called. The Customer Service reps in the office are excellent by the way - extremely helpful. The woman I spoke with advised it sounded like mole crickets and my plan would include free service for this problem. 18 phone calls and many visits later, in February 2018, I still have the problem. At least half of my yard is destroyed by these insects. TruGreen has been out several times and at the beginning of February, at my insistence that they use something different as what they were using was not working, they finally put down granules. The sprayer had to call someone to find out what might work better and make sure he had it on his truck. I had also requested a supervisor. He came out and blamed drought, fungus, worms, ants and crabgrass -- everything except TruGreen who I paid to service my lawn. When I asked why what they were spraying was not killing ants, he said that they don't usually spray up to the edge.
Description of Work: I was told by a salesperson, after some negotiation, that I was purchasing a "complete" plan that would include fleas, ticks, mosquito control, spiders, ants, roaches, and spray perimeter as I don't allow inside spraying as well as weed control. When I saw spiders and called, they said I only have weed control which includes fertilizer and insects that affect the yard. I spoke with a manager and he advised that my salesman had been lying to people to get contracts but they could not stand behind what he quoted. They did not show up several times for scheduled appointments and they would change appointments without notifying.

They performed their treatments for almost a year, and the brand new sod I started with is now facing replacement again. Their treatments simply did not work. I gave them almost a year before cancelling, as I had pre-paid for the year and felt it was a sunk cost. I complained a few times, and they always sent the tech out again to re-treat, but to no avail. The sod that was new one year ago is now very weedy, and has bald spots and low density throughout. Not only did I waste the money I paid Trugreen for their service, but I am also out the thousands I spent for the new sod! On a positive note, their customer service reps were always polite and professional.

I have never been happy with these kind of companies, I used another company before and now True Green. To me it never seems that the lawn is where it should be, but it could be any number of factors that go into that. I can notice a little difference in the yard, but I don't see where it's really improved all that much. It has improved the quality of the grass, but for them coming out as often as they do, I don't think it's that much of a big improvement. I'm going to keep using them for a while.

A couple months ago went to a spray. If the serviceman gets it anywhere near the house, you get rust spots. I have had them out three times to clean it off. It happens one more time and they are fired. I have had the manager out a couple times. Some spots are cleaned, but not all the way off. The price is about the same at Scott's use to be. If they mess my house up one more time, I will not use them again. I would tell people to check the outside of their home after the service.

Things didn't go as well as I had hoped, so I didn't renew their contract. They weren't the most responsive. They should have continued to check if I was happy with the service and to make any changes that needed to be done to try and improve it. That wasn't done.

Extremely disappointing. I have been a loyal customer for years - I've even recommended them to neighbors. After getting my $728 bill, I discovered that I could buy the exact same service from them for $579 - - that $150 less if I purchased it online. But that was for new customers only. I called to at least get the bill under $700. They decided to lose a long-term customer instead. I understand that you need to give a good break to attract new customers. But I felt I was being taken advantage of paying so much more.

Horrendous scheduling, horrendous service. Explained when we signed up that we needed 24hrs notice for service because we have 3 large dogs trained for protection and have a doggy door and can go in and out to the backyard as they please. The only time they called was the first service, after that, they only sprayed the front, and said they would return to do the back. Which they never did on their own accord, I had to call and ask for them to return. After about 3 months I called the branch manager and explained that the crabgrass and nutsedge was getting worse not better. He asked if I could take pictures and send them to him. I was not happy, but I did. He told me he would give me a free service call. Really???... FREE?... They came out, probably sprayed water again. I could go on and on and on but I will not waste anymore of my time or energy on this company. They should be investigated for fraud......

They do a good job. I've been using them for years. They come once a month. Fertilization is $49 and they are doing some other stuff. I've tried other companies and I keep going back to them. They'll come out if I have a problem like with weeds or something like that and they will fix the problem.

I had the service for over two years. The first year they did quite well and the grass looked green and no weeds. The last 6 or 7 months it got bad. They kept sending the same guys and I kept getting more weeds. I lost my whole front lawn and kept getting worse and worse. They told me they would fix it and I finally said do you want me to cancel it and they told me the weeds are uncontrollable and they could not do anything. They do not seem to be mindful of what they have done. Everytime I called it was the same guy, I asked to talk to the manager and he said it was him. It was George, he always was the one I talked to, he was the one that sprayed and the manager. I could never get past him.

What a terrible experience!!! Month after month they promised to perform services to treat my lawn by fertilizing and removing weeds. They failed on every front and I truly believe that they didn't perform the fertilization and weed services most of the time. I had to contact and complain at least 4 times and received empty promises. Each time a manager would contact me after I told them that I would be terminating and that they would make everything right. Ultimately, I fired them!!! I've done the service myself for the last months with products from Home Depot and I'm seeing much better results. Scott's lawn service, two thumbs down!!!

I have a large Ficus hedge and few other shrubs on my property that needed some professional attention after I exhausted all that I could do on my end. I took a gamble, after seeing some other unfavorable reviews, and decided to contact Scott's Lawn service. Initially I contacted them just to see what services they provide, prices, and see how soon or quickly they can have one of their agents come over. After listening to their sales pitch I agreed to sign up with them. (Yes, I fell for the "If you act now you can have your whole property serviced at the low, low price of....." I should have known better.) Anyway, I'm signed up and before hanging up the phone the sales rep said, "you'll be contacted in 2-3 days advising you when someone will be coming." That was 2/9/14, and I haven't heard from them yet. Just one generic email a half hour after the initial conversation that tells me I am now signed up for automatic bill payments. Wonderful. This morning, 2/18/14, after getting home from working a midnight shift, I contacted them to see what's up. Todays sales rep goes on to tell me I'm not in the system. What??!! After digging around, which is me listening to him type on his keyboard, he tells me I was listed under the wrong address. For example: I live on 101 Fake Street, he tells me "you're listed under 103 Fake Street, AND that a technician already treated that property". Really?? Cause where I live the houses here are numerically spaced 10 numbers apart, 101, 111, 121, 131, etc. Once I pointed that out, a whole lot of side stepping began. Moving on, the sales rep tells me the issue with my address has been fixed, and I'll be contacted when someone will be coming out. You would think this newly acquired and now unhappy customer would've been on top of their priority list. Nope!! I went to bed, woke up, and still no email, voicemail, or anything. So now I call Scott's back to cancel. This is when some other sales rep advises me for the first time that their notifications regarding when someone will come out is all AUTOMATED, and that no actual person calls you. That would have been helpful to know, but 1 whole week without hearing anything from anyone at Scott's...No Bueno...not good guys. Needless to say, my recommendation is to go elsewhere for their lawn care needs.

I didn't want them monthly, I wanted them every 6-8 weeks and they were coming monthly. They couldn't seem to follow instructions. I had no complaints about the work they did except I didn't want them to come out here every months and they just didn't seem to understand that and in the end they kept the same amount every month.

The monthly service guy was nice and polite and seemed to be doing a decent job, however over time I didn't see any visual improvement in my lawn. The whitefly service ($200 flat fee per treatment) was ineffective. My hedge is still withering away. When I asked for them to come out to check it out I was told that it would be a $200 charge. I just cancelled the service altogether. Not effective and not worth the money.

It took them a while to get there schedule straight. They showed up to often and when I called to correct the problem they stopped showing up altogether. They said that I had quit. I think the problem is in the office not the technicians. Anyway, it took about 4 month to get them on track and now they show up on schedule and my lawn looks great.

I wrote a pointed email to adhear to our agreement; i heard nothing back until i just came home today to another scotts sign in the yard and another bill on the door and one in the mail marked 'past due fee' 7.50. Oh, and to top it off, a customer satisfaction survey email- These guys are like a never ending nightmare... its the BBB next. Interestingly enough, my yard looks no better than the untreated swale, so i question the value of the treatments at all.

They did a good job of selling me but when I used them they were the worst I've had. When it came to their service I ended up with more weeds than I had when they started. During the fertilization phase I saw their guy with a little bucket in my yard just randomly throwing stuff around. I asked him about a specific tree that I thought needed stuff and he told me that he took care of it. But, I checked it after he left and the tree had never been touched so I canceled them right away. They were nice people but I was very disappointed. I thought their price was high for what they do.

different program and would cost $123 every three months. Kevin had completely misrepresented his company's service and what would be provided for $55.00 per month. I then canceled my account with Scotts LawnService and was provided a cancellation number.
Description of Work: I met Scott's salesman, Kevin, on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Palm Beach Home Show held in the Fairgrounds. He proposed a home service to me that would treat my lawn for non-grasses, including clover, of which I have much. I said my clover problems emanate from my neighbor's house, which is a high end rental, but for which the landlord will not provide more than lawn cutting. However, I said we have a bigger problem, that is of tiny ants coming into our home in great abundance. He said that that would be included in the service, and after measuring my property from the aerial views, gave me a price of $55.00 monthly. I agreed to try the service on a month to month basis to see if it did get rid of the ants. Kevin said someone would call early this week to make an appointment for the service and to discuss methods of payments. I did get a call, but was in a noisy environment, so could not discuss the matter. The caller said she would call back at 2 PM. She never called back. Last evening I received a call from Kevin, referring to our meeting at the Home Show. I said to him that , inasmuch as I hadn't heard back from the lady who had called and that we were leaving town for two weeks, I wished to defer or postpone the service until after our return. Today, Wednesday, February 27, we returned from an early morning appointment to find that Scotts, without having made an appointment, nor arranging for payment, had been to my home, performed lawn treatments which were written out in detail, but there was no mention of the peripheral ant service that Kevin promised and was the only real purpose of my considering them. They also left an invoice requesting prompt payment. I set up a payment by wire to take place on March 1. I then called Scott's local office to see why they hadn't mentioned the peripheral ant service and was told that that was a completely
