Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We had an excellent man arrive on time as scheduled to accomplish a very difficult task: Our interior drainage system had been snaked out by a local plumber, but they were not equipped to handle the much larger job -- removing tons of debris and rocks which had accumulated in our main piping system for many years, unbeknownst to us. This main pipe runs under our garage floor, preventing the flow of water from our laundry, toilets and showers. The plumber recommended one supplier who wanted to break through our driveway pavers to get to the drainage issue, and wanted $2,700 to do the job. We contacted Roto Rooter as a second source. The specific man on the job was not only a gentleman but persisted for 6 hours because he refused to give up on jetting out the rocks. This saved us about $4000 in garage flooring costs, and when he was finished, the charge was $1700 -- $1,000 less than the other company quoted. We were very impressed and relieved since our home insurance didn't cover this type of problem. Our recommendation to anyone buying an older home: an inspection to have a plumber put a camera in the drains to be sure this isn't an "unseen" issue which can arise later.

There was nothing wrong with the toilet. It just needs to be used on full drainage rather than for the pee setting if using TP. As for the tub, it just turned out to be partially plugged up by hair. Once that was cleaned, he suggested I check it regularly and he gave me a discount for fixing it by suggesting I print out the coupons on line. He was very courteous, professional and informative about proper drain cleaning and upkeep. I will definitely use this company again.

Will never, ever use them again. On 1/6/2015 they came by to unclog two toilets which cost $340 after a 10% discount. That night toilet No. 1 became clogged again. They came on 1/7/2015 and unclogged toilet No. 1. On 1/9/2015 we went away on vacation - no one was at home. On 1/15/2015 shortly after we got home toilet No. 2 was clogged again. They came by today - after a five hour wait - and unclogged it and charged $319. You see their guarantee is only good for one week. We've spent $659 to have our toilets unclogged; and they can't even do that. Imagine a plumber who can't unclog a toilet. After toilet No. 2 clogged again on 1/16/2015, I contacted the local manager. Local manager agreed to refund me $189 and sent out another plumber free of charge to complete a more thorough evaluation. I was happy with the evaluation and grateful that the local manager took an interest in resolving the matter.

He replaced the old toilet with a new one and did a good job repairing the issue.

The tech was respectful of my house and worked very clean. He was here on a Sunday night for almost three hours and charged a very fair fee. He was wonderful to have in my house because he was very positive and willing to do whatever it took to get the job done! He worked through his "lunch" break and checked and double checked for leaks and that the job was perfect! I highly recommend Roto Rooter for jobs big and small.

Rapid Rooter was called on Sunday evening to take care of what I assumed was a very slow drain in the kitchen which was allowing water to flow onto the floor under my dishwasher. The repairman arrived within 45 minutes. He observed the problem and said he throught the problem was much more serious than a clogged drain line. He gained access to the kitchen plumbing through an access hatch we had installed on the exterior kitchen wall after another serious problem almost a decade ago. Using that access hatch, the technician confirmed multiple problems and demonstrated them to me. As it was late on a Sunday night, he was unable to proceed with repairs, but made arrangements to return the following morning. He provided me with a fair estimate to accomplish repairs and I authorized them to proceed the following day. The repairs were successfully accomplished. The technician decided to snake all drains as a precaution and also ran the camera down the line. He pointed out a few potential future problems, but felt that today's repairs would hold up well. I now just need to expand the exterior access hatch on the exterior wall; install, leak-proof and repaint that area. I spoke with a plumbing contractor (friend of a friend) today about the repairs and pricing. He indicated that Rapid Rooter was VERY competitive in their pricing and confirmed a quality job. I will not hesitate to contact Rapid Rooter again in the future!

Arrived in less than an hour on a Sunday. Alisa was the technician and she had someone in training with her. I was well aware of what the problem was since it is a recurring issue in an older home. Alisa did not try to add additional services and was very straight forward, which is something you do not come by often in emergency home repair services. Highly recommend!

The appointment was originally scheduled for a Friday b/w 1:15-3:15pm. No one was able to give me even a ball park estimate. My sink was slow to drain and it needed to be snaked, which I assumed was routine but no one could give me any idea as to cost. Sat at home waiting for technician to show up. Called at 3:15 and was told it would be more like 4-5 pm. At 5 pm I called and was told it would be more like 6-7. At 7pm I called and the representative asked if the technician could come at 11:30 that night. When I said no and complained about the repeated delays, the representative told me they would take 20% off the bill. When I asked again about the possible cost, the representative had no idea. The next morning I called to see when the technician would arrive, I was "guaranteed" he would be there between 10am and noon. Of course noon came and went whereupon I called again to be told he would be there b/w 1 and 2 pm. When I called at 2 I was told he would be there in 30 minutes. When he arrived at 2:30 he was polite but not apologetic. I showed him the problem in the kitchen and let him check out the situation while I went in the other room to make calls. The next thing I know, he hands me a bill for $347 to snake the drain and said the drain had a lot of grease in it. When I questioned him about the price he said it was a standard charge for snaking a drain. When I asked why no one would tell me the "standard charge" when I had asked, he had no idea. He also had no idea about the promised 20% discount for wasting most of my day on Friday and Saturday waiting for someone to show up. I've read other reviews and this seems to be a common problem (repeated delays and unexpected expense). I would never recommend Roto Rooter and I will never use their services again.

We called in the morning around 6:30 as our toilet and tubs were clogged and we were unable to unclog them. We were told someone would be here between 8 & 10am. Alisa arrived on time and told us what she needed to do an how much it would could prior to starting. Since we have a septic tank we were concerned. She snaked the drain and showed us where the clog was and we watched as it was cleared. She explained step by step what she was doing and what we should do to make sure it stays clear. She was AWESOME!!

I recently purchased my house and was running my dishwasher and washing dishes and my drain started to back up. I tried plunging the drain, drain-o, etc. but nothing worked. I finally called roto-rooter since they advertised that they did not charge weekend pricing. I called about 7:30am and was told that someone would be out around 9:30, but they had to finish the job they were working on first. While I was waiting I got a call every 30 minutes or so with an update on the eta. He finally arrived around 11am. Once he arrived he was very nice, gave me a price quote for snaking the sink (which was the final price after accepting the angie's list coupon which I couldn't print). Throughout the process he answered the questions I had and explained how my pipes were laid out since I had no clue. He informed me that there was a big back-up of grease and how to avoid it in the future.

The representative called 30 minutes before he arrived, as promised and then was on time. He was very friendly, helpful and he got straight to work and finished in less than an hour. Highly recommend this company.

Our commodes were bubbling and belching. Dennis cleaned to the street and found no clogs. He then cleaned from the main sewer back toward the house and found clogs of white material. He asked if we were flushing wet wipes or if we had flushed any other items. He actually told us approximately where the clog was found so we were able to estimate which bathroom had started the clog. We did not determine what caused the clog but were so glad that we have free running commodes now. Roto-Rooter gave us an expected arrival time then emailed us when he was on his way. We were actually in a restaurant but were able to finish the meal because he had called 30 minutes before he expected to be at the house. He was very professional and we will definitely call Roto-Rooter for any and all of our plumbing needs.

Attempted everything (she) could do and find a way to fix this without having to make a huge mess in the bathroom ... Hard working lady, yes! LoL knows what she's doing for over 12 years ... And funny, making this bad situation more enjoyable ... Ask for Alisa ...she's good ....

I don't remember the price, but it was okay, normal. They are fast and good.

The service was pretty good. Roto Rooter have a policy that they do not guarantee for a year. If the line was broken into by tree roots, they don't guarantee for a year. They guarantee only if the line was backed up from your household items going into the line and blocking it, and then they would go in and clean it. They then show you with a camera. They don't have control over the roots that are growing. The development that we live in, is called a Planned Development, where the city planned where trees should be. The tree is planted right on top of the valves of the cleaning system. The trees have matured over 15 years.

I called our regular plumbing to clean out our main drain line that was backing up into the house. He only had a 75' snake and couldn't reach the blockage and suggested a couple of companies. I called Rapid Rooter -Roto Rooter and they came out within the hour. He tried snaking the line as well even from the city's drain access but couldn't reach the blockage so I called the city and the city was able to clear the problem. The 1st plumber DiMartino, didn't charge me since he couldn't fix the blockage, Roto Rooter charged me $249. I have no problem with a service call but that is high for a problem they couldn't fix.

The plumber was very friendly and quick with his work. I was impressed by every step of the process from my initial call, to the work performed they were very nice. I will use them again if anything goes wrong in the future with my plumbing.

I am thoroughly disgusted with the way your company has conducted business with me. Originally, I scheduled an online appointment for Saturday between 10-12 for 'a possible leak in crawl space under my home' (as stated in my request). When Saturday came around, no one came between my requested time. I called and was told that they were running behind and would be closer to 1pm. I told them that I had errands to run and could not wait all day. At 1pm, no one arrived or called...so I did. Was told it would be closer to 2pm. I told the rep that it would be better to reschedule for later on since they would end up keeping me for hours anyway. We rescheduled for 4pm-6pm. At 6pm, no one arrived or called AGAIN! So when I called they said they don't have enough staff and will be there closer to 7pm. At 7, 2 techs arrived. They're visit was useless because they were too large to get into my crawl space as I originally said would have to happen. They told me Dispatch would call me to reschedule with a slimmer tech who would also bring a device to check humidity. Shockingly, that never happened. When I called she said someone could come out around 11pm or next day. We scheduled for Sunday between 8-9am. When the tech arrives on Sunday, he was trying to figure out whether the leak was inside the house or outside. That being said, he never went into the crawl space and told me that another tech had to come out with a leak detector and advised me to call Dispatch. Dispatch supervisor told me that someone with the detector would arrive in 20 minutes or less. An hour rolls around and no tech or call. He finally arrived about 90 minutes later and said did they tell you that the test would be $395. I finally flipped, I told him that no one informed me that there would be a cost and I would not pay for it. I told him everything that happened and he called Pablo, local manager. He told me that Pablo would contact me, but advised that someone needed to go in the crawl space. It is now 8:30pm on Sunday and I have yet to hear from anyone except for the leak that is pouring money down the drain. I am appalled at the service given to me and the lack of respect for my time and money. 100% disgusting.

The provider showed up at the promised time of the appointment and was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. We need this pipe routed out annually to keep the pipes running clearly from the house. We were charged the promised price (actually slightly less due to a coupon which we were able to apply to the service). I would definitely recommend this company to my friends.
