They showed up on time and got the job done. Didn't try to upwell me extras like other companies do (I won't mention any names but they advertise a lot here in the fort lauderdale area). They did make sure the freon was charged back to the proper levels and cleaned up after they were done. No surprises is a great thing. I was in contact with Steve at the office and he set everything up ahead of time to make sure everything went smooth and it did. I would have no hesitation about using Pride AC in the future and would recommend them to my friends.
Description of Work: I had them install a floor drip pan under my ac handler. We have just put in new wood floors and needed it and the typical alarms that go with it (shut off, water alarm). I also had them remove and clean the coils as we have had other construction going on in our house and a lot of dust recently. Workers showed up on time and I was home that day…they seemed professional and to me like they knew what they were doing in removing my handler from the closet.

As far as the things going wrong in my apartment, I have Pride, it is Pride Air Conditioning & Appliances, Inc. It is a service. You pay yearly and if you have a problem with the bathroom they come, if you have a problem with anything in the kitchen they come and they fix it. It is for general repairs. The cost depends on how many appliances you insure. When I moved in I bought a new refrigerator, I bought a new washer and dryer and the stove and I didn't put that on the contract because that was new. What impressed about their service is their price. They are just very reliable and they do a good job.
Description of Work: They came first and the plumber couldn't do it, it had to be cut out. Then I got in touch with him and they came back after that on the 29th to fix the plumbing problem. It is the yearly fee that I pay the price.

Actually they will be here tomorrow and this is for my twice a year air conditioning check up. I use them under contract. They are very good and they seem to enjoy what they are doing, which is important. They are very reasonable. I have them take care of everything, not just the air conditioning, just the plumbing and they put in new hot water heater for me and all that stuff and it under $300 a year. I have checked other places too they are the most reasonable, but more importantly they are the most reliable. The quality was excellent and they are great. They are very responsive. They are very professional. I would use them again.
Description of Work: I used Pride Air Conditioning & Appliances for plumbing about six months ago in October. They fixed my toilet a few times. They had put in a dishwasher. They put in a new faucet for me and usual plumbing stuff.

Their okay. They had 3 different people here with 3 different opinions. and just do not instill confidence.

I have a service contract with them to come out and fix my appliances if any issues arise. On this list includes cook tops. I have a ceramic cook top, and they told me that they do not work with glass. So I called GE to see if I could purchase the part, which they said I could for $130. I called Pride back, and asked them if they would still install it for me if I paid for the part, but they refused to do it as a part of my contract, and said it would cost me an additonal $85.

This provider came to my unit about two months ago. Put 2 lbs of freon into my a/c unit. Month later the a/c unit was not cooling good again. I called them again. The technician came over on 6/12. Instead of diagnosing the problem, he suggested there was a leak and the unit needed to be replaced. My ac unit is only 7 years old. His demeanor was unprofessional and he was there may be 5 minutes and did not even have the courtesy to replace the a/c filter he took out. He was more of a sales man then a technician. After he left I did bring in another company and i was told they did not find any leakage from the unit. I will not renew my contract with them again.

A call was made to Pride on Friday 2-7-14-system was dripping and showing signs of icing. I was told that they are booked and that they can only arrive on Monday, 2-10-14 between 2-6pm. I explained that I have a 90 yr old Mother and it is very uncomfortable for her but they indicated that there are many elderly people in the building and we will have to wait. Well we waited until Monday as we had no choice and the Tech arrived at 5:45pm and took a look and said there was nothing that he could do as there might be a leak and that wasn't his job another person would have to come and that he would make a call to the office when he left to let them know the problem. I also made a call but the office closes at 5pm and there is no emergency line or any help available. When I owned my home and had a problem no matter when there was always an on-call emergency tech available. While the Tech was here he was very rude in his tone to me when I asked a simple question and said that there are many people needing attention and that Pride doesn't have enough people to do the jobs that need doing. Should not be my problem. On Monday when I finally spoke with Pride they told me that because of the lateness of the Tech call in they could not schedule anyone until Tuesday 2-11-14 in the afternoon. That was totally unacceptable but made the appointment, wile speaking with another condo owner they mentioned Tropical was prompt and courteous whenever they were used. Made a call and the next morning the Tech was there and repaired what needed doing and all is well presently. When I call Pride to cancel the appointment they said "you have a contract with us" and I said "yes,but only at your convenience". I am still as of this writing trying to cancel my contract with them but no one calls back or they make you wait for a long time on the line. My parents had Pride for many many years with almost no calls and this is how my Mother is treated when she really needs help. Very sad!

Pride A.C. (note that air conditioning is a part of their name) was not only unable to repair my a/c - they were unable to even diagnose the problem. I had no difficulty getting 2 other a/c service companies to diagnose the problem over the phone and one subsequently came and did the necessary repair. In addition to the Pride incompetence the owner of this company is the rudest service provider I have ever dealt with
Description of Work: I had a service contract with this company. My A/C was not working and they told me that the problem was that the until was too small for my condo and needed replacement. Note here that the unit had worked fine since I'd bought it new 7 years ago. I was able to find another company who were able to diagnose the problem over the phone but were then able to do the repairs required. Replacement was not needed and after the repair the until worked fine. When I brought all of this to the attention of the owner - Barry Pearl - he was rude and unyielding in his insistence that everything that went wrong here was my fault. Needless to say I canceled my contract with Pride and would suggest that this company is not a responsible provider.

Our technician was at [member name removed] home on 8/03/12. We found the system working with in the manufacturer’s specs. The pressures were 75/240 the temperature difference was 16 ( normal range is 16-20 degrees) and the duct work checked good. The unit struggles when the temperature rises above 90 degrees; we highly recommend a 2.5 ton not a 2.0 ton. When we replace air conditioning equipment in the development we highly recommend 2.5 for air handlers in attics. From experience we have found that new 2 ton units just don’t keep the unit owners comfortable. If there is more information we would love to see documents stating the facts and would be willing to work with [member name removed] and back our service contract agreement. I find it hard to believe another company could properly diagnosis the unit over the phone without a site visit. Stay far away from this Company! They do not stand behind their claims and their Customer Service is a joke! My 87 year old Mom had a service call put in to change out two outlets, and was told they would arrive the next day between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. She waited patiently and I arrived at 5:30 pm, to make sure she was attended to. The result was a "NO SHOW!" Despite the fact, I called and followed up they would be coming, and their response was "It is not 6:00 pm yet and we will be there." After 6:00 pm, I called their office and they were closed, and their answering service promised to have someone call me back, within minutes. No one called back! Stay far away from these people, as they should not be in business, period!!

We strongly disagree with [member name removed] complaint. All our calls are time stamped and recorded for training and quality assurance and all our vehicles have active GPS Systems WE received calls from [member name removed] and from [member name removed] on September 25th, 2013 related to this matter. We were called twice By [member name removed] sister checking to make sure we were coming and asking exactly when we would arrive She was told we could not pin point the time, but the technician was on schedule to be there before 6 pm We received a third call from [member name removed] at 5:37 pm, (not after 6 00 pm) after our regular office hours. Our service did not tell her that she would be called back within minutes, but that someone would get back to her. Service contacted our after hour’s dispatcher, who in turn called the technician to check on his status. We apologize that the technician was running late, however, he called the call before number [member number removed] listed on his service order at approximately 6.08 pm He spoke with [member name removed] sister and told her that he was running late but he could be there in about 20 minutes He was told that someone would be there to meet him The GPS in his truck shows her arrived at the service address at 6.25 pm Unfortunately he found no one was home He waited for approximately 15 minutes and then tagged the door as not home While we were running late, we did call the customer, we did go the her home and Pride was ready, willing & able to provide all necessary service at no char per the terms of the contract with [member name removed] mother [member name removed], our contract holder ([member name removed] mother) has been a customer with Pride since August 13th 2004 We always strive to satisfy all our customer’s requests within the bounds of our contract, but no reimbursement is due in this matter.

I needed a new A/C single package unit to replace my 16 year old 11 seer unit. After obtaining estimates from several different A/C companies, I selected Pride because of the reasonable price. they had the same size unit as I had currently, and the salesman, Chuck Joseph (who was very nice), said that their company does all the installations for Home Depot. They also offered zero percent interest for 12 months. (The price included the permit, taxes, new digital thermostat, hurricane strapping, new metal duct from A/C to house and new slab.) On or around March 19th of 2013, someone from their office called and said that I am supposed to receive two free "precision tune ups." (I don't remember anyone ever mentioning this before) I was walking out the door and asked her to call me back to schedule an appointment on Friday. No one ever called back. I called back a few times and they said that the time for receiving my precision tune ups had expired. On May 21, 2013, they finally agreed to schedule a free precision tune up. The condensation drain pipe is not working properly and the condensation is draining under the A/C unit. I will see what happens when they do the "precision tune up." Overall their service has been gppaverage and whenever I called, I was put on hold for an extended period of time. Their A/C unit installation was satisfactory. They also replaced my thermostat with a lower quality thermostat than I had. However, it appears that this thermostat has a two degree spread, so that it does not cycle the A/C on unless it is two degrees higher then the temperature set. My electric bill is MUCH lower than before the new A/C unit.

Whenever I needed them, it took several days to get them here and they were never on time. On my last service call, my air conditioner stopped working. The serviceman came out and told me I had a small leak in the coil and needed a shot of freon. He refused to put freon in the unit claiming that it was illegal because of the small leak. When I insisted, he called his office and then told me that if I paid $75, he could put the freon in. So I guess it's illegal unless I pay for it even though it was supposed to be covered with my annual fee even though it was supposed to be covered with my annual fee. Needless to say, I didn't renew the contract.

I have an contract with Pride for appliance maintenance; it does not include detailed A/C checkups. I scheduled a "tune-up" and they did an extensive check of the A/C, including the compressor on the roof of the building. Their charge for the service was quite reasonable compared to other companies I have had perform the same service in the past. I also reported a drip leak (not related to the A/C) under my sink. They promptly dispatched a repairman who evaluated the situation (I assume to insure that no damage was being done to nearby cabinetry) and then scheduled a plumber to come and fix the leak. I'm not clear why they didn't just schedule the plumber in the first place, but the problem was handled promptly and at no charge (it was covered by my contract).

I had them come out to check the light. I had their service for a few years. Their price went sky-high, but their quality of service kept dropping. They covered less and less. Also, they didn't notify me of the changes when they renewed the contract.

We called Pride because we have a contract with them and they sent a comfort consultant (aka as a salesman). He did a good job of talking us into the proper unit and we begged him to get it done ASAP which he did... that afternoon the new a/c was installed. The installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves. We were very pleased. We compared our price to a neighbors and it was right on. I would use them again.

I have a contract with them. Any problems with the parts or motor related are covered up by the contract. I didn't have them install the new unit because their price was a little high. It is a yearly contract, a little expensive but less than some other. If it is an emergency, they do come within 24 hours, but if it is something minor, then I have to wait for a few days for them to come over and do it. If I have a backup or something flooding and any problem with the main source, they will be here that day. If there is a breakdown in any part and they can repair it, it is fine, but if the breakdown is not repairable and the part has to be replaced, then I have to pay for that part. When they say they will come down, they don't give a particular time, and I don't like that. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Pride Air Conditioning & Appliances Inc to repair a new air conditioning unit that was not working properly. The company that installed the unit hadn't hooked up the heating wire properly and they repaired it. I have used them in the past for plumbing backup and getting my air conditioning unit cleaned up.

The crew was courteous and on time each day. They were as clean as could be considering they were tearing out old duct work. After they finished, I crawled around the attic to inspect their work and found that they had not replace three of the ducts (drops). I called and asked them to complete the replacement and they replied that they were unable to replace them as there wasn't enough room. I then crawled back into the attic and took photos of my hands all over this unreachable duct work and sent it to their manager who assigned them the task of replacing it. They eventually came back out and finished the job. We also complained about the master bedroom which has two large drops, because it was much warmer than the rest of the house despite being only 10 feet from the air handler. This they attempted to address but were not able or not willing to fix this. We will probably have another company have a look to see if this can be modified. I also found that they did not remove the ducting connection point that attached to the old A/C. I ripped it out in 15 minutes so I don't know why they left it behind. They also left behind a bunch of old conduits, condensate lines, and thermostat/thermostat wiring. I called them on this too and they removed most of it. The thermostat and its related lines as well as mounting bracket from the old A/C platform still remain. Overall the A/C works pretty well and our electric bill has improved significantly.
Description of Work: upgraded air conditioner from ~3 ton package unit to a 5 ton split unit with the air handler installed in the laundry room. We also had them install new duct work throughout. We hired our own electricians to have the electrical portion completed. We went with a 16 SEER Trane single speed compressor and variable speed air handler. There were 15 vents to duct with returns from three bedrooms and the fourth we used a grill above the doorway. They used flexible round ducting and small handmade junction boxes. The air handler sits upon a hand made box where the return grill and the return plenum go back under the air handler. 4 new drops were added to the family room which was located under a flat roof. They didn't have the room to make a nice wide radius bend so we had a contractor build a box that runs the length of the ceiling and duct work goes into this box and then the vents are attached to the outside of the box. This cost us an extra $400 but it works well.

Rep from company seemed very nice when he came out for the estimate, but he wanted to send the "more experienced" employee out for a better quote and the best way to re-engineer my AC system. Well, that guy came out and was extremely nice and professional as well. HOWEVER, they left and Never contacted us with the estimate! No email, no phone call, nothing. About 2 weeks later I called them again, just because they were actually my top choice before they neglected to give me a quote. So the guy answers, says he's real busy and he would call me back in a few minutes... guess what, Never Called! Apparently business is so good they don't need anymore customers.
