our first mistake was not looking this company up on bbb or angies list. chris sold my husband by showing up with an iPad and providing all the bells and whistles that my husband wanted. we gave him a deposit of 10,000 dollars in april and we were promised the job would be finished for memorial day. the job took over four months to be completed. all the bells and whistles work but the sun shelf is not round as requested and the grout is not an uneven color but we are worn out and my husband will do the rest of the repairs himself. there are too many pool companies to even bother calling this contractor.
Description of Work: complete renovation of pool. installation of sun shelf. new pool filter and lights.

Description of Work: The issue now is that one of the water spouts they put in our pool has come loose and despite numerous calls to the company, they refuse to come by to fix it. So the 10 year guarantee is not a guarantee, do not use these guys

We wanted this job done last year, but didn't have the money. This year, after our tax refund, we knew how to spend it. I called the company to ask about doing the job with the same quote written up for me the previous year. They told me no, and that someone would have to come out and write a new job proposal. An appointment was made, and Chris, who had also made the previous year's proposal, came again. Chris is friendly and professional, and he said that the price was the same as it was the previous year, so a proposal was made, and a contract signed, with a $500 cash/check deposit made. We explained to Chris the window of time we had before leaving for a 2 1/2 week trip. He gave us some dates just before our departure, and said that it could be finished before we left. When Chris walked out the door with our deposit was basically the end of the professionalism and promptness. The job didn't get done before we left, and the company obviously doesn't communicate well with their subcontractors, because even after rescheduling the job for a date after our return, a worker came out the day before our departure saying he was ready to start the project. We explained that he couldn't, because we were leaving town (and we had already rescheduled it). When we got back from our trip, the communication and lack of professionalism continued. Initially I was understanding and gentle in my communication, because they told me that certain weather conditions were necessary to do the job properly (which is true). However, after a while I learned that this also became a simple excuse for lack of punctuality and professionalism. Almost never could we reach someone on the telephone, and when we did, any kind of response would be a day or two later. Once the pool was drained, the work was supposed to commence the following day. Instead, ours didn't commence until four or five days later, even though there were suitable days with adequately clear, sunny weather. When the job did finally begin, the subcontractor who did the work was shocked when he learned that the pool had been emptied days earlier, and no one had come to continue. After the preparatory work, the final step of applying the Diamond Brite was next. It was supposed to be done the following day, which was a nice day and perfect weather. When nobody showed up, I called that evening, and left a stern, but kind message, indicating that if someone didn't get out and get our job done, I was going to investigate ways to end my contract. That threat seemed to get some action, because I got a call the following day (with more excuses lathered on), and an appointment for the workers to come finish the job. That appointment was kept, and two days ago the job was completed. The quality of the work seems to be good, and the price was comparable to other quotes that I had obtained the year before. I took this company because of how I was treated by Chris, and because of the recommendation of a neighbor. My mixed ratings, however, are based on the fact that many customers want and need a more exact schedule. Our job was just barely completed in time to do a long-ago scheduled baptism in the pool this Sunday (I'm a pastor). I'm usually quite merciful and slow to be critical, but after a while it became evident that the verbal promises and explanations to assuage my concerns about the lack of progress, were simply empty rhetoric. I can recommend this company for it's quality of work and the price, but not for it's responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism.

Chris was very knowledgable and professional. I was very impressed with the initial consultation and proposal process. He used an iPad and was able to e-mail me a completed proposal including photos. He noted the pool drain date and I was contacted on that specific date that someone would be out to drain the pool and begin the process. The person didn't show up until the next day due to another job he was running behind on. Despite calls from the main office on the schedule the workers usually showed up a day or so later. This particularly concerned me since I was planning on leaving on vacation and wanted to have the pool completed at least a week prior, which they were able to do (right before it rained for a week). I told Chris that I was very sensitive to the amount of grout being left on the coping after the work my neighbor had done. He told me that they could not control that and that some grout may go into the gaps between the coping and the paver brick. The workman told me the same thing. That's really the only complaint I have since there was a mess on the paver brick that I feel could have been lessened with some pre-prep work or removal while the grout was still fresh. Now that it is hardened it is going to be very difficult to remove. That's my next project. The Diamond Brite and tile/coping look great! I just wish I didn't have to deal with the grout situation. I was also disappointed that Chris did not follow up after completion of the work since he had been such a good communicator before that.

The pool job was good, the problem was the deck. It took them about two weeks after the original starting date and only after I pressured them. The deck guy, Gabriel, didn't even show up the one the first appointment with no call to tell me he wasn't coming. They finally came on an overcast day. They laid the cement down and it started to rain, now there are rain holes on my deck where the cement hadn't dried. I asked them to fix it and they said ok. The next day the weather was like the previous, they painted and sealed the deck. I asked them if they should be doing this because it looked like rain and they assured me the paint and sealer dries fast and there would be no problem. As they were finishing it started to pour and it rained all night. The sealer all washed away, the faux stone painting is washed out looking in sections and the holes from the raindrops from the first day were still there. I called back and they said they would come back and fix it so I took a afternoon off of work to meet them and I was stood up. I called and they gave a lame excuse and set up another appointment, took another afternoon off and was stood up again. It's been two months and the latest excuse is their having difficulties with the deck guy. The moral of this story is it doesn't matter what kind of guarantee they give you if they don't honor it. And you can't call them because they don't answer the phones or return calls, I could only reach the by email. I would not recommend this company to anyone, Their word means nothing.
Description of Work: In December they first redid the pool which included the Diamondbrite, tile, skimmer, and coping. I then hired them to do the deck with erotile and a stone looking finish.

Premiere Swimming Pool Restoration Company is low end, South Florida family-run business that lacks integrity, credibility, follow-through and customer service. I recently was transferred to South Florida and purchased a home in an upscale community that needed several large scale projects, one being a pool, patio and equipment renovation. I put out 6 quotes for the job; new pool wall plaster, replace cracked beam, new tile, all new coping, rerunning return lines, dedicated a vacuum line, 1500 sq ft of new patio, new Variable Speed Pump and operating system. Chris Hetzel came to my home and returned a quote right then and there from his I pad which was impressive, none of the other vendors did that and some quotes I waited two weeks for and one never even came! Regardless, I chose Premiere in May ?12 after reviewing all the quotes. Chris also happened to be the least expensive (I know first sign of pending doom) so I contracted Premiere and he said he would have my swimming by the 4th of July, which did happen. I was initially impressed with Chris as he seemed personable, intelligent and knowledgeable. What I didn?t know about Chris but quickly learned is that since Chris was young in his career (which is ok if you have guidance ? like his father who I have never heard from) he clearly struggled with assembling his team, building loyalty on his team and lacked the ability to navigate difficult customer situations. I learned Chris also was ego driven, pretentious, hot tempered, could not effectively communicate and clearly had maturity issues; another sign of being a novice in his career. All of these attributes, or lack thereof resulted in the perfect storm for my situation! I had numerous problems all involving Chris and his lack of communication; a business basic. The pool resurfacing and went well as did the coping, tiling, and rerunning of the return lines. I realized later that Sal when his worker dug the new lines he cut clear through my irrigation lines which I learned after rainy season was over and I turned on my sprinkler system. No one ever brought up the error at the time. I ended up reaching out to Chris and he did respond and said ?thank you for my feedback? never apologized, never offered to reimburse me the $300.00 to fix it, nothing! Chris surveyed my patio which had a 75? French drain which also needed to be replaced and he quoted me $1000.00 to replace it, which I understood I needed it (this was a 20 year old pool and patio), he gave me no other options. Since I travel for my job I was in and out of town. Upon returning from a business trip and his contractors (although they say they don?t sub out jobs on their websites) I returned to find my patio almost finished and no drain installed! I questioned Chris and said they don?t always have to use it (which again was news to me as he never made it clear that it was even an option) anyway, he told me they ?must have? sloped the patio so the water would run off. I questioned him on why he didn?t partner with me on that decision?. Chris did offer to correct the issue but I wasn?t going to have my new patio ripped up again after my yard had been a mess for two months. He did return the $1000.00 for not completing the drain as promised. I would have preferred the drain as water pools all over the patio and under my furniture. Now I know you can?t slope a patio that is that big, Chris fed me a line and obviously forgot to include when he communicated with the patio contractor. His team shut off the power to my entire home to rewire the pool equipment controller box upon installation while I was also away on a business trip sending my alarm down. Another rather important issue that I should have been brought into the loop on and yet again ?no call from Chris? or communication what so ever. After installing a brand new operating system and variable speed pump I had numerous problems with it. Chris admitted that the VSP technology was so new that no one on his team had any working knowledge of the system. Of course he let me know that after he sold me the $2500.00 worth of equipment. He did have one of his sub-contractors (even though their website says they do not use subs) come out to try and help me. I have now had the vendor, Hayward come out and replace the driver head, TWICE!! I now question if this was the system for me and had reached out to Chris several time insisting that something wrong. Lastly he never bothered to check to see if the new equipment was ?talking to? my heater, which it clearly is not before they left the job. The heater does not work and cannot be operated from the hand held controller. I have emailed Chris and left numerous voice mails and have gotten no response. So much for the 10 year warranty! I never heard from Premiere again. Premiere has dropped off the planet so I have no other option other than to resort to posting my negative experience. I strongly suggest that you choose another company for your swimming pool repairs. This company clearly will not make it in the competitive South Florida pool renovation market. Chris clearly lacks the attention to detail, forethought or follow-through to be successful in this industry. If Premiere were to follow through I would want my heater connected to my controller and my irrigation repairs reimbursed. I don?t expect to hear from them again.

The workers did a good job and the pool looks good. The bad experience came when the worker asked us to write the balance due directly to the owner, Chris Hetzel, instead of the company. We were not comfortable with that being that we would have no proof that we paid the balance and a lien could be placed on our home, so we wrote the check out to Premier Pools. The next day I called to get instructions on the chemicals to add,how many gallons it took to fill the pool (for a discount on my water/sewer bill), when we could use our navigator (pool cleaner), and directions for using the LED light (changing colors, patterns, etc), no amswer, I left a message asking for a call back. After two days and no return phone call, I called again and left another message, still no return. (I left messages on the office phone and his cell phone) Christmas came and things get busy, I understand. I called again on December 27 and the recording said they were closed for the holidays and would reopen on January 2. On January 3, I called again and left a message for a return call to answer some questions I had, still no response. I have given up trying to speak with Chris Hetzel at Premier Pools, and I have no confidence that if I have a warranty problem I will be able to get any service from them at all!

The project started out well. We have a large deck and when we received the quote from Premier, I noticed that the square footage they had calculated was less than the other quotes we had. We asked them to re-measure 3 times and told them that if they get it wrong, we would not pay the difference. Well, well, they were short by 30% and basically told us that either we pay for the remaining 30% or they would not complete the job. This was Chris Hetzel, an account manager. When we spoke to the owner, he mentioned that this was not the first time Chris had made a mistake in his calculations but would not budge on receiving the total amount. There mistake and I had to pay for it. They deck now has puddles when it rains hard. Also the waterfall in our pool which always worked fine, now has a gap in the middle and we are trying to get them to come back and fix it. The lack of customer service is evident.

We meet the Account Manager at the Palm Beach Home Show, so we thought they were pretty reputable. We did get quotes from other local companies, but they seemed to be the best and we felt the rep was very trustworthy. We had signed the contracts to start in early march, but we had to push the start date back two weeks because of landscape issues, on the day to start no one showed up, actually no one showed up for 4 days. Once the pool was drained we were so excited the project was moving forward. Then it just sat therfor days, actually almost a week. We tried to call the reps cell numerous times as well as the company office and no call back. At this point we were already getting frustrated. When the "team of workers", which we were guarenteed, showed up a week and a half later to start work it was a man and his young son (I mean the boy was like eight). He then procedeed to allow his son to sit on my patio eat and watch movies. I would see the young boy jumping off the edge of the pool into an empty pool and was scared he was going to hurt himself. By the end of the day, my patio screens were kicked out and there was junk left behind. Then the waiting game started again. We waited weeks again for the next step. We called and called the office and reos cell with no avail. We were told this would be a quick project, 2 weeks, but almost a month later and we were not even close. Finally after so many calls, and nasty receptionist comments. The diamond brite was installed, and we were waiting for the pool to be filled. Then the communication stopped again it was another week and a half before anyone got in touch with us and they wanted their payment in full. We refused untill the pool was full and salt system was running. That same day the pool was filled and the next day the salt system was up. Unfortunately, we were under the undstanding that we were getting the Salt Chlorine Generators by AutoPilot Systems which they advertisied all over their website and we signed for on our contract. But when I say what they installed it was something completely different. They said they discontinued using the AutoPilot and this was beter. Well it wasn't and it never worked properly. We called numerous times just with questions and help and never got a call back. We finally got a call back after a month of weekly phone calls and they said it was not their problem it didn't work once theu installed it it we needed to go through the manufacturer. SO we called the manufacturer and they basicaly said there is nothing they can do. We are left with a headache in the back yard, and a huge chunk of money gone. What a waste. I would never recomend this company. They are a rip off.

Company was very quick to schedule estimate and Chris was right on time and very knowledgable. After checking Angie's, I had slight trepidation since prior report noted job delays. I discussed these concerns with Lori and consequently signed and returned contract with start date notated on the form as per Lori. However, after contract was accepted and returned, work schedule was delayed on very first day and I only learned of delay upon calling to inquire when noone showed! (This was after taking time off from work.)Two days later, work began with new schedule advised by Lori. Two days went smoothly, then ANOTHER delay because of "scheduling conflict" (?) and again, only after I called for info. (Another lost day of wages for me !) The following day, work was completed on resurfacing. All workers were punctual (on their part), pleasant to deal with, had good knowledge and communication, polite, and left work area in great shape. I did request Chris call BEFORE coming on next day to perform chemical and pump startup, as I wanted to be here since I had a few questions. Although I was home all day, I was upstairs when he came without phoning and didn't even bother to ring bell , therefore I was totally unaware of his presence and only discovered later that pump was running (when I went out with dogs). All in all, not a bad experience and work was totally acceptable, and my pool is beautiful and sparkling - but not worthy of an A report in my estimation.
