Not good at all. The contract on this job had to be renegotiated by an arbitration process supplied through Angie's List. The project was expected to be completed by today May 15, 2020. Unfortunately nothing has been done. Calls to the company are forwarded to an answering service and no one has returned our calls. We are thoroughly disappointed with this company. Even though we are still in a pandemic someone could have reached out to us with some explanation to let us know that they are at least still in business.

It has not gone very well. My husband and I gave representatives of Master Builders, Ben Solomon the general manager and Drew Miranda the operations manager, a deposit of $5,913, with an agreed upon date of installation by November 2018. At first they seemed to be upfront and sincere to complete the job by November. They were on top of getting the permit and other information needed from the Management company of the HOA of the condo where the windows would be installed. Then we found out there was a delay getting the architectural approval from the HOA management. But they never mentioned this was the hold up because I could have spoken with the president of our HOA to expedite this approval. This was the first indication that there might be a problem dealing with MB. So the approval letter was issued on Nov 20, 2018 but we had to delay the install because we had tenants who were renting the condo for the winter. I didn't want the tenants to deal with construction mess from a window install. They assured us the windows would be kept in a safe place and ready for install the next spring. I started a dialogue with Ben Solomon on March 12, 2019 and asked him to give us an install date sometime in early April. Mr. Solomon replied saying he would act on my request immediately with Drew Miranda and get back to me. I have several text messages with replies of more meetings with Drew and promises to contacts us through April and May, but as of today June 10th 2019 we still don't have an install date. And they have not given us any information as to when they expect to complete this contract agreement. I have lost any and all confidence in Master Builders to do the job and to do it right at this point and want our deposit refunded. I do find it hard to believe that the president and founder of the segment of the company is aware of this problem. Because they have a good rating with the BBB and now I noticed they display an Angie's List emblem on their website, which wasn't there when I checked their references last year.

Response from Master Builders Windows & Doors
Master Builders is committed to completing this project in a professional and value building manner. We are converting an existing patio to a new Florida building code compliant and hurricane impact resistant living space. Our project is very complicated due to engineering calculations and requirements from the city building department. Our structural engineer has had to revise the new structural plans to accomplish all building code requirements and comments from the city building plans examiner. In addition to the windows requested, we have to provide structural aluminum components to provide a safe and code compliant room. We also have to coordinate our plan with the homeowners association requirements. As an additional service to the homeowners, our company agreed to provide 2 additional windows at no cost after the original price of the project was agreed upon by both parties. We are committed to provide the homeowners a project that they feel build value to their living space. We have agreed to absorb all additional engineering costs and permit processing costs in this project just as we agreed to absorb all additional costs for the 2 additional windows we had agreed to give to the homeowners at no additional cost. We appreciate the additional time that the homeowners have given us to complete this project and we are committed to complete it within the time given to us, the end of the summer, August, 2019.
