We hired Hamilton Bros. Roofing to repair a roof leak. We paid $1800. The roof immediately began to leak again. They came back repaired it again. During the tropical storm we developed a big leak 6-8 inches from their original work. I contacted Hamilton Bros. for resolution. They will not come back to inspect, give us partial refund, or repair without paying them additional funds. We had another roofer (G-Force Roofing) inspect yesterday who told us "the work Hamilton Bros. did led to your current leak". When I contacted them today, he told me "A+ Rating/Accredited member 15 years. Your false review will not change that Madam". Hamilton Bros. will not resolve my problem. I would NOT recommend them.

DO NOT USE!!! I used Hamilton Bros Roofing 3 times over the past 12 years which were all completed professionally, and that is why I chose Hamilton for my roof replacement even though their quote was higher than others. The experience has been nothing short of horrible, and I am seeking damages for their negligence and delays resulting in lost income from my rental property. I originally accepted their bid in June 2017... it is now January 2018 and the roof is not complete. I have since found out that they sub-contracted the work and have not maintained any oversight for getting it done. Instead, they have placed blame for delays on everything apart from themselves including: permits, tile manufacturers, suppliers, and inspectors. I know the excuses are lies as a neighbor had their roof replaced in just 6 weeks from start to finish during Nov/Dec. Furthermore, the work done to date is shoddy with poor quality materials resulting in additional damage to gutters and landscaping. This situation is the result of poor management and poor communication by Patrick Hamilton, who has passed on the oversight of the work being done in his family's name.

I will readily concede we dropped the ball.on this project because I made a assumption that turned out to be wrong..I had just taken for granted that my crew could install the homeowners tile roof as we have done countless times. Unfortunately the pitch of the roof is a 10 in 12, not quite vertical, but pretty close..Not only is it a difficult roof to work on for obvious reasons. It requires a very different prescription to install. Required by the City of Coral Springs that is. Our crew could not install it do to the roofs pitch. Couple that with the rainiest season I can recall, and then of course Hurricane Irma. Suffice it to say anyone who can pick up a hammer has been employed. So dragging a qualified roofing crew away from easier jobs , to my far more dangerous one took quite a bit of time, not to mention money which I have not mentioned to the homeowner until now...All materials are from ABC Roofing Supply and are Miami/Dade approved, as well as approved, and inspected by the City of Coral Springs..The tiles are on the roof, the project should be completed one day next week.. It is always our intention to complete every project as quickly and professionally as possible. Obviously we benefit nothing by delaying a jobs completion...Patrick Hamilton

While I was at work, he would arrive drop off materials and have the work performed. Transmitted pictures to me of the damage and afterwards the completed work. He would leave an invoice for me and I had my bank send him a check. Never had any problem with him purchasing the supplies and having them delivered promptly.

Horrible experience. I hired Hamilton due to the low price and positive reviews at the beginning of April; my house had a few flat deck leaks. We had to wait for the permit to be approved before they could start the job. Unfortunately for me, they forgot to request the permit until almost two month later. In the meantime, my home kept on getting drywall damage. When the permit was finally approved at the end of may, two weeks later they delivered the materials and about a month later they showed up to work. The workers thought they worked at a strip club, as they did not have shirts, the pants were half down their buttocks, and they were urinating all over my garden. They demolished my old roof and then Patrick told me he underbid my project, and that now I would have to pay almost double than the original quoted price. Additionally, I had to furnish a General Contractor to remove the french doors so he could do his work. Shortly after, they spent one more day in my house and left it abandoned for about a month. Hurricane Irma was on the way when I asked them to secure or remove the roofing materials from my house. Day after day I was told tomorrow, but nobody showed up. Patrick Hamilton decided not to answer the phone anymore, his foreman did the same thing. Finally, the day before the hurricane at 2:00 pm two individuals showed up, picked up the roofing materials but left the roofing debris - told me the foreman would pick up the rest of the debris. He never showed up. Five months later, my house now leaks more than before. If I would have not hired Patrick, my ceilings would have not had damage. The first coating he installed caused more damage to my house than the two leaks I had before. He removed part of my siding, which he did not secure back. He removed part of the tiles leaving them all exposed, and he did not secure them back. He did not replace rotten wood - just covered it up. My experience was horrible, from the bait and switch pricing tactic, to 5 months of doing nothing, to doing the worse roofing job I have ever seen, to being left abandoned during a hurricane to God's mercy. I wish he gets treated the same way he treated me and my family.

Malarkey..To say I wish I'd never seen this project, or "customer" is the understatement of all eternity. The house was bought in foreclosure shortly prior to his contacting our company. The patio roof had been reroofed no more than a couple of years before, unquestionably without a permit (It would never have passed inspection) presumably for a quick sale. Which they obviously never got. Which is where [Member Name Removed], the new owner comes into play. Most of the delay was do to the excessively rainy period we've had this summer, and his search for a dirt cheap general contractor. With a flat roof you must have several days of dry weather. What [Member Name Removed] is not admitting is that he had contacted many, many roofing companies prior to us. To which he later conceded half of whom had turned him down. And wanted no part of the project at all..(Oh if I had only had their foresight).. The others wanted more than double. He claims he had a offer of 10k. But says he threw away that proposal, and couldn't recall the name of the company. Right. We applied for and received the permit out of pocket, and started the job without securing the usual deposit. In point of fact I have yet to receive a cent. And have spent thousands & thousands & thousands of dollars on this debacle. The prior "roofer" had simply covered up rotten wood. In fact we had to resheeth the entire flat roof. All roofing contractors allow for a certain number of sheets of plywood, 3 is the general rule on a roof of this size. Naturally there is additional cost involved when you have to redeck, which was explained to him, and is clearly stated in the contract in bold type. Also this roof had wooden railings installed directly into it, without even the benefit of pitch pans to keep them from leaking. All of the flashing metal behind the wood siding had simply been covered up by the previous so called roofer with gobs of roof cement. Which clearly has been leaking for years it was so rotten once exposed. To make matters worse in removing the flat roof it was discovered that the flashing around the three wooden french doors leading onto the patio are leaking. We are roofing contactors, not general or door installers. When we suggested a general contractor that we have used in the past in such situations. He didn't like his price. And found his own. That guy quit after removing one set of doors , and refused to call him back because the work was far too labor intensive for the $500. [Member Name Removed] was willing to pay. He told me he would find someone else to do it. That was many weeks ago. The roofing work has to be done in tandem with the door installers. Now he wants to pretend this should be our responsibility, and he shouldn't have to pay anything. In short he bought a mess, and wanted us to fix it , at our expense no less. I am out of pocket more than what the contract amount originally was. I will document my expenses and present them to him. He flat told me that the other contractors who more thoroughly looked at the inside damage either walked away or wanted more than double what I asked for, for what I mistakenly believed to be a standard flat roof replacement. In the roofing business there are on ocassion unknowables before you open up a roof system. His neighbor a few doors down is a well known roofing contractor who wanted more than double our original contract. And certainly would have required more once the roof was opened. He knew there were other problems with the house, but once I started the job without a deposit figured he had me trapped. I called him a scoundrel when he told me he wasn't going to pay anymore than the contract price. I was far too trusting in his common decency because that's how I treat others. I was too generous. We obtained estimates from several companies and finally went with Hamilton Brothers because they seemed the most professional. I was given a quote from Patrick that included mineral saturated base sheeting, bitnum mastic, membrane and two coats of Acrylic Premium roof sealant. Mr. Hamilton's crew came and did the job when promised and I was advised by Mr. Hamilton that the job should prevent leakage for 5-8 years. Within months the flat roof began to be discolored but we assumed it was because of dirt and leaves that fall on it. What actually happened was the material Hamilton Brothers had used began to peel off in large pieces ( I discovered this in September of 2015). We were worried about it leaking so I call Patrick and explained what happened and reminded him he had told me the job should have lasted 5-8 years. I then asked for him to fix it. He said he would call me back and for two weeks I waited for his call. In the meantime it has been during down rain and our fears about leakage grew. I then contacted another company who came and repaired the rook with three days. I never heard back from Patrick and I feel that he didn't do the honorable thing and repair the roof as he should have done.

We have a sixty year old home with the original roof. We opted for a complete roof replacement, bringing it up to code, for both the protection and for the insurance discount. Hamilton did a good job with the roof, but they are a roofing contractor, not a general contractor, which means they subcontract out the work on installing the hurricane strapping. The subcontractor installed the strapping, but never came back to finish up the stucco painting. Nor did the sub contractor ever issue the inspection certification that the insurance company needs (which is different from the one that the city requires). I would use them for repair or resurfacing, or if you have GC on the job, but I would look for GC/roofing contractor if you are going the require certifications.

Description of Work: Patrick came out the same day I requested the estimate and waited for me to return home from work. He looked at the roof leak and immediately knew what the problem was. I had received an estimate the week before that I thought was quite high for the job. These guys came in about $1k under my other estimate. The work was done the next day - patching the leak, replacing the cement roof tiles , replacing the soffit boards and even matching the paint. You can't even tell there was ever a leak it blends in perfectly. Great Job!

Patrick Hamilton came to inspect the roof for a leak on the same day I called. He immediately diagnosed the problem -- a nail that had been driven through the asphalt roof by the original roofer --and fixed it on the spot. He explained that, since he had the filler on hand and spent no significant time to fix it, he would not charge me! On top of the amazing service, the guy was nice as could be. I will call him without hesitation when I have a real problem.

The owner, Patrick Hamilton, came periodically throughout the process to check on the work. He is extremely professional and courteous and actually does what he promises. The two workers he sent to the house were also very courteous, hard working, and cleaned up after themselves. The project took one and a half days including a severe weather delay. We would HIGHLY recommend Hamilton Bros. Roofing and plan on using them to replace our entire main roof when we do so. Probably one of the FIRST pleasant experiences with any home improvement contractor we have ever had!!!!

The experience of working with Patrick at Hamilton Brothers was exceptional from start to finish. I contacted Hamilton Brothers for an estimate regarding repair of a leak in my flat roof. Patrick gave me a reasonable estimate within 48 hours. Upon further inspection it was determined that the roof needed to be replaced and not merely coated. Patrick agreed to fix the roof at the same price as a coating. Then, at the commencement of the project it was determined that the roof was concrete and needed tar. I was only charged the price of the additional materials. The work was done promptly and as promised. Patrick forwarded photos of the process and the completed roof. I highly recommend the prompt, courteous work of Hamilton Brothers.

Since another provider fixed the leak, I did not work further with this provider.
Description of Work: I had a small leak in my roof. I contacted the provider and he was very responsive - set up an appointment nearly on the same day. He arrived on time and was very pleasant and appeared to be knowledgeable. He got up on my roof and gave it a full inspection and explained the repair that he recommended. I contacted 2 other providers. The second provider recommended a similar repair for $300 less. The third provider climbed up his ladder and immediately smiled. He took a picture of a small hole/entry area and showed me where it was. He caulked it and said he thought this was the issue. He did not charge me. Two months later with some really good rains, I agree he found the culprit. This was an immediate find for him; not sure why this provider would not suspect the same area for this type of leak.

Well first off this is to my knowledge our 1st somewhat negative review ever for a customer we did not do any work for..I recall the tile roof and remember from where it was leaking..I am incredulous that caulking applied on top of a valley flashing area can repair a leak in any long-term fashion, nearly 30 years experience tells me it is not so. (Though I've seen it attemped lots of times) I stand by my estime and the remedy I proscribed..Why one estimate might be a little less expensive than another can be due to a myriad of factors. I'd like to think the vast majority of our customers find that we provide a good service at a fair price. Our many positive reviews I hope speaks volumes about our business..Patrick Hamilton

It went better than I had hoped. On a Thursday night we discovered that our roof was leaking. Friday morning we called Hamilton Brothers. Patrick came out within a couple of hours of my call. He explained what was wrong, how he would fix it, and gave us a written quote on the spot. Monday morning they came over and fixed the roof that day. They had all the materials and equipment and fixed it quickly without excessive disruption or mess. By the end of the day the work was complete and the site was clean. I would definitely use them again.
