If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have used Engineered air for many years and have a service contract with them and had no problem. However, 3 weeks ago they came to my house because I had a freon leak. They diagnosed it and called me the next morning with a price to fix and said the condenser coil was still under warranty by carrier and the part was in stock and they would have in 24/48 hours. After a week and no follow up I started calling daily trying to get an update only to be told the parts guy didn’t have an update from carrier. I then spoke to customer service supervisor who said she would follow up. No one ever called me back so I had to call daily to see if any progress was made. I finally reached out to carrier and they requested the purchase order the company so they could track the part. Carrier emailed them and I called and requested it. But still could not get any answer. Finally after 16 days of no air they said they did not have a po number. When I asked how they ordered the part on Oct 14 with out a PO number or part number they said they needed to talk to parts manager again. They never called back again so I had to call again only to be told they could not order the part. I then hired another company and they came out and had part within 24 hours and fixed my unit. Because the part was under warranty Carrier had to confirm that the part was not previously ordered by another vendor for our unit before they released the part. It had not been. Engineered Air lied about ordering the part and for 3 weeks led me to believe they were trying to get it and then said they could not get the part. I made numerous calls to management only to leave messages on voice mail and no one returned my call. I would never use them or recommend to anyone else

Everything went beautifully. When I noticed that there was a problem with my air-conditioner, I called Engineered Air on Tuesday morning ( October 16, 2018 ). The receptionist I spoke with was very pleasant and accommodating. As a matter of fact, about 2 to 3 hours after I spoke with her, Carlos arrived at my house to fix the problem --- and did an expert job, in the process. He was highly efficient and professional. Straight A's on Carlos' report card . . . and a hearty Thumb-Up to everyone who works at Engineered Air.

They were unable to give us a time frame for the day of service. Said tech will call you 30 minutes prior. Tech arrived. spent 20 minutes on service and put an algae tablet in the drain, because he said it was clogged and that was the problem. Funny thing because we change our filter and put cleaner DOWN THE DRAIN MONTHLY .Next day AC still not working correctly. We called for service, holiday weekend so no response . It has now been 2 business days since original service with no response. We called this morning and the same rude female that answered the phone said they had no message. We have length of phone calls on our cell phone to prove we called. anyway., I called the company that services my work. they came out as a professional courtesy and IMMEDIATELY IDENTIFIED the issue. ( within 2 minutes of checking the outside AC unit) FREON LEAK! guess ENGINEERED AC is too busy with making money from installs that they cannot provide good regular service. I live in the new Raintree Development in Pembroke Pines, I will let my many neighbors know this company is not the one to be used. Not sure how they have an A rating.

Everything went exceptionally well. The company's representative, Chris, did a spot-on job of working on my AC, a job which included things such as cleaning the system's condensate drain, testing operating pressures, and so, so many more operations to make sure my AC is running smoothly. If you are looking for a company that is reliable, punctual, highly professional, and reasonably priced, to do a service check up on your AC unit, then I highly recommend the pros at Engineered Air.

Everything went great. At about 10 AM on Monday, August 28, I gave them a call and they assured me that they would have a technician out by the end of the day. ( As a matter of fact, about an hour or so later, I got a call back from Engineered Air saying that they could send someone out immediately --- but I had to go out for a couple of hours. ) Well, later on in the afternoon, the technician, Bobby, arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem as being a clogged drain-line. Not only did he repair that issue, but he performed a thorough maintenance service check on my entire system. And as he was performing his expert service, Bobby was very professional and personable --- and absolute pleasure to work with. Straight A's on Bobby's report card. And thumbs-up to Engineered Air for being such a reliable and ultra professional business.
Description of Work: My A/C started functioning erratically. It would blow out absolutely no air at all for a long time, and then start blowing out air for only about 5 minutes, and so-on and so-forth. ( And in this hellish South Florida heat, no less ! )

They didn't charge me. They said they would come out and take a look and we'll tell you if it's the roof or something else. The one was definitely a roof leak but the other place where I noticed a leak in the corner of the family room was because the decking wasn't secured properly to the stucco. They were nice as could be. They came exactly when they said they would. Everybody spoke English and didn't charge me a thing. It was a free estimate.

If you want to be robbed and ripped of, choose this company. $170 for changing a fuse (a less than 30 second service). And to top it off, their manager said that this is their price and that I should've asked before-hand. I was told about the $75 visit fee, but not that to change a fuse would cost an additional $95. And they still claim that the right service "protocol" was performed. Customer service was awfully rude and unhelpful.

Everything went beautifully. I called Engineered Air at approximately 6 PM when my AC stopped cooling. With an hour shortly before 8 PM, Carlos, the AC technician came out. He quickly detected the problem, and clearly explained it to me in laymen's terms. He then spent a good 60 to 90 minutes making the repairs ( cleaning out clogged lines, vacuuming lines, and whatnot ). and got my unit up-and-running. All the while, Carlos was both personable and professional. A solid Thumbs-Up

I called to have someone come out to fix/troubleshoot a problem with my Rheem air conditioning system that was not cooling properly. Since it was not an emergency, the dispatcher arranged for a next day service. The service tech called in advance of his scheduled appointment, then arrived on time. He inspected the system and determined that there was a leak on the inside coils, and that the refrigerant drier needed replacement. He advised that they would contact Rheem to determine if the unit was still under warranty, and get back to us. Two days later, we received a call from Engineered Air. They stated that the parts were under warranty, and were being shipped from the manufacturer. They gave a price for the labor on the install and replacement of the additional part. We agreed on the price, and they promised to call back to schedule the work. A few days later, we received a call back, scheduled the work, and it was completed successfully in the allotted time frame. I was satisfied with the repairs, and the system is working very well now. Air Conditioning companies in South Florida are very busy, its nice to know that one that I located here on Angie's List could handle the repairs efficiently, without excessive expense.

After much persistence, diligence and repairs/adjustments to the system, they figured out the problems on our new Carrier system. It was very frustrating to us, and I am sure the Engineered Air! But, they stuck with it and came back until they figured out the problem. It turned out to be some drain pipe that was leaning against something causing condensation to accumulate on the filter. Apparently, they system can either be placed on it's side or standing up straight. the side drain was where the pipe was leaning and touching. Simple fix in the end. All of the following did happen first, though. But I am happy to say in the end it all worked out and all is working super! We are living in a new home, just moved in on January 4th. Engineered Air(EA) installed the new system. The system leaks. We have had the repair people out twice. The first person said it was the drain and that they have been having problems with the drains in this complex, so he tilted it to the proper level. The second guy came and he said it was the drain and wanted to tilt it back. We told him about it having just been tilted the proper way and explained to him that we don't believe it was ever the drains, but that the system probably needs to be cleaned because it is the filter that is getting wet so there must be a clog inside as we have seen the water dripping from the outside drain. And, since it is a brand new home, the system probably has lots of construction dust in it. Before the repairman left he said he would have a technician out the next afternoon to clean the system. No one ever came nor called. So we called EA again and explained the issue, for a third time, and that we were getting upset and to please send someone who could fix the system. The woman said she would have someone out that afternoon and hung up on me! We are still waiting! I will call again at 8:00 AM today, January 15th.

I called Engineered Air when my unit stopped working since they installed the unit. They found the line connecting to the dryer to be runsted and leaking. The tech told me the line rusted because of the way it was placed on the concrete. Keep in mind, they installed the unit and placed the line there. Nevertheless, they replaced the rusted dryer, pulled a vac on the system, replaced the run capacitor, and replaced the 410A. Did the run capacitor really go bad at the same time the line got a leak? Well, we'll assume it did. Total time required (including travel time) - 3 hours Parts replaced: 7 pounds of 410A which would be $70 at most Dryer - $50 at most run capacitor - $50 at most I had to estimatethe price of the parts since they would not give me a breakdown of parts and labor costs. I estimated very high to give them the benefit of the doubt. For example, I found the run capacitor for my unit to be $14 online, I estimated $50. The dryer I found for $23 so I estimated $50. 410a can be purchased for $4 / pound so I estimated $10. Total parts $170 - At most Total labor - $420. Labor cost per hour $140 Live and learn, I will not call them again. They also arrived 2 hours later then promised but I can understand the last job took longer than expected. A call to tell me would have been nice. I called them and left a message asking why they were late and nobody called me back.

According to our records, Mr. called for service at 2:05 PM on July 29. We arrived at his home at 7PM the same day and our technician completed the repairs at 9:30PM. All of our service is priced on a "flat rate" basis. Prices are taken from our price book and include labor and materials. The labor is included in the price so that the customer knows how much the repair will be prior to the work being done. If it takes one hour or 3 hours, the price doesn't change. Unfortunately Mr. was late for an appointment and told the tech to proceed with the repairs before he received the price. Our technician reports that the dryer was rusted on both the top and bottom and was leaking and needed replacement. The system was not cooling primarily because the run capacitor was bad and the compressor would not start. As our technician is relatively new to our company, he made two errors in pricing the repairs. First, as there were multiple repairs made, he should have waived the $75 diagnostic. Second, he selected the wrong capacitor price from the flat rate book and overcharged $20 for that repair. Mr. was not charged overtime for the work although it took place during what would normally be considered overtime hours. We are issuing a $95 refund to Mr. for the incorrect pricing. We believe that our service was prompt and that our pricing is fair.

My 10 year old Rheem A/C unit began leaking a few weeks ago and, after a technician from my now former A/C company found the coils frozen, I decided to obtain a second opinion before purchasing a new unit. I researched Angie's List and, impressed by EngineeredAir's ratings, contacted them. A technician was immediately scheduled to arrive within two days. After studying the unit, he added Freon and advised me to call the company should further issues arise. Well, only a week or so later the unit began leaking so I again asked the company to send out a tech who explained that since my unit was antiquated and would most likely cause further problems--including the monthly addition of Freon --that replacing the unit would be in my best interest. He did not try to oversell at any time, but I understood what had to be done. Two techs - John and Rhoan - arrived promptly on a Monday morning. After showing them the unit, John explained exactly what the process entailed and they began their work. The two gentleman were extremely professional, conscious of avoiding a mess and amiable. To my surprise the job was completed within approximately five hours. John then explained: (1) how to operate the programmable thermostat; (2) how to maintain the unit for optimum performance; (3) which temperatures to select for cost effectiveness; and (4) what my maintenance contract covered. My new unit is operating beautifully thanks to John and Rhoan. Further, I'd like to extend my gratitude to the EngineeredAir team for their professionalism and superior customer care.

I found this company through Angies list. I reviewed seven before deciding to call Engineered Air LLC. From the date the previous week when Mr. Ken Kiefer came to provide an estimate at no charge, I noticed somebody wanting to create a good impression. No pushy sales tactics or trying to press me to hire his company for the job. He went through every detail and even showed me a mold area where the old A/C unit was installed. He suggested that at the time of the replacement to have that mold taken care off to avoid breathing the fumes through the new system. When I asked for a referral and if he could coordinate with them to do the job at the same time, he called a friend who gladly came to my house within 45 minutes. Meantime Mr Ken continue to inspect all the ducts and installation. His friend from Air quality control environmental, Inc whose name I believe is Al and who I will review separately did an estimate that I found reasonable and also explained everything. After seeing how professionally these two gentlemen were handling things without even knowing if I would hire them for the job, my wife and I were sold so we gave them the job. Two technicians from engineered air showed up on May 19th right on time. Explained everything and went to work. The only minor detail was that they knew nothing about the mold job so they called their boss and I called the other company. Apparently the did not coordinate the date and time correctly. All was resolved within minutes though. 2 technicians from Air quality control environmental were pulled from a job and sent to my house. Everything went flawless from there and within 5 hours I had my new system up and running. The technicians from Engineered Air LLS explained everything, showed me how to operate my new thermostat and were sured I was satisfied before getting into the paperwork and payment. I am completely happy with their service and gladly recommend Engineered Air and will use them to do the maintenance and service the unit in the future.

The technician was extremely neat and polite, even wearing shoe covers when entering the house. He checked the system and cleaned out the drain lines and was here about an hour. The only complaint I had was that they totally missed the appointment window. I was told they would be here between 8am and noon. I called at 11am when I hadn't heard from them and they told me the tech was already in my development finishing up a job and should be here shortly. I then got a call at 12:30pm saying he was leaving his previous job and would be here in 30 minutes.
