good response, but a little pricey for a small part of project

The sales person was on time and knowledgeable. I felt very good about the company as they were here on Angie's List and recommended by a good friend who used East Coast for their windows and doors. THEY NEVER GOT BACK TO ME WITH AN ACCURATE QUOTE! I called and spoke with the salesman a few times. He would apologize and tell me he would get something to me but he never did. Very disappointing.

From start to finish, East Coast Windows is just the best. The job was at the home of my elderly parents. The staff at East Coast made it a point to create as little disruption to them as possible. They arrived on time, every time. Their work was done quickly and immaculate. Every single person we dealt with, from the office staff to the installers, were polite, professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this company.

The team at ECW&D are extremely professional and took the time to address every concern we had; before, during, and after the installation. Very friendly, polite, and professional. Thomas, the supervisor for the job, was very attentive and represents the company well. Highly recommended company; I wish they did more than windows and doors so I could use them for future renovations.

I'm sure that the owner will provide even more excuses if he decides to respond to this review. What I have described was not exaggerated or embellished in any way. If anything, I left out details of conversations between myself and the salesman and myself and the owner, that would only further characterize them in a negative light but I didn't include those details here because of time and comment length.

Job was done very professionally, crew was always on time, very happy with the results. They are one of the few companies in South Florida that are actually capable of doing structural changes, most other companies we contacted will only replace existing windows/doors. We were even reminded to fill out the manufacturers rebate which we received just the other day.

The whole process was incredibly easy without any problems at all. The only thing - we waited about 2 months from the time we signed the contract 'till the time the work began. But most of that time they were waiting for permits from the government. We weren't in a hurry, so... it was all right. When the process began, it was just a dream came true. The crew came on exact time we were told they come - 9am. First day, there were two young men and they worked (on windows) until 7 pm. I even didn't see if they had lunch. Everything was done perfect - no dirt, no dust, no smoking breaks, etc. Both men were so polite and so tiresome, I really was extremely pleased (after the mess we had with another company that installed windows and doors in the first half of our house, this was such a relief). The next day, again exactly at 8:30 am, three young men came and started to work on doors. The same flawless experience. Very polite men, very careful with the environment around, all the furniture was covered, no mess, no dust - just perfect. The inspection was on the next day. No problems at all. I highly recommend this company.

The president of the company, Ed - came to my home and gave the estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable and represented his company well. The installation crew was exceptional. The overall experience was great. They gave me the best price by far.

Ed was very attentive to our concerns throughout the entire process - from deciding what doors to choose, to placing the order and making sure the job was finished in a manner that met our expectations. The workers always arrived on time and were very courteous, professional and polite. They took their time doing their work, and no detail was overlooked. The finishing was very good. We were concerned about gaps in the tile because the old doors had wider threshholds, but Ed helped us find a beautiful way of dealing with that issue, and he was able to communicate his solution to his workmen. The doors all look wonderful. We would definitely work with this company again.

I am very happy with my windows and the service east coast provided. They arrived early for the estimate, the day of signing and installation. Justin was very helpful, friendly and patient going back and forth ironing out the final quote. Ed was friendly and very informative when he came for the signing. I ?thought? I wanted double casement on storm windows but he explained it would not look right even though it cost less money. I am glad I took his advice and went with the single casement. The quote included Angie's list discount and the PGT promotion for free Low E. a couple of weeks later Ed called, as PGT was now promoting a mail in rebate. Ed offered me this promotion, saving roughly $210. After 6 weeks of anticipation, the day of installation finally came. They came early, actual installation finished about 2:30; thereafter clean up, caulking took another hour or so. They crew were all business and very polite. One of the members pointed out that one of the windows was cracked and they would order a replacement and someone would call to schedule replacement. I was surprised nobody called from the office after installation. It wasn?t until 2-3 weeks later that someone called to set replacement, which went fine. About a week and a half later received call from office that the city was ready to inspect and that took place the same week. Inspection day, someone from East Coast came to finish caulking and fixing some minor issues, prepared the paperwork for the inspector and collected the balance due. He was very friendly and helpful; however we both forgot that the single hung window clips needed to be installed. A week later East Coast called to say a truck was in the area and asked to stop by, which was great, as I was home sick that day. For the record, I bought 14 single hung, one awning, 3 casements and 1 sliding door. (most with argon gas and colonial grids), all low e and impact, light grey on 7 singles. Can?t say it enough, I love my windows and door! But my only regrets are a darker grey tint and at least light grey on another 7 windows. I previously had tinting on my prior windows and miss the privacy. Also, not crazy about the awning for the bathroom (note I did buy PGT sight unseen, so only blame myself), but honestly, not sure what else I would have chosen. The windows options out there are pretty limited. The windows are great, love the workings of the casement and the beauty of all the windows and door. I have only been able to open the windows twice since my April installation, due to the weather. But enjoy every time I use the sliding door. So strong and secure! The only issue there is the big track ? this creates difficulty for my elderly dog. Still looking for some sort of ramp for her. Overall, I am very happy with the product of PGT and the service of East Coast. I have already recommended East Coast, as was pleased overall. As I was recommended on the quality of PGT, I would also recommend the same to others! My only issue on the service would be a phone call or email now and then to keep me informed how the process is moving along, a call within a day of installation to see how I feel about the windows and follow ups to keep me posted on the next process and what I should expect, it?s not every day I buy windows nor spend this much money! This is literally my 3rd largest purchase of my life. To compare, my ADT security representative called me the same day they came to reinstall my security sensors on the new windows and that cost was minimal in comparison.

Fantastic company. My wife and I did allot of research into different window and door companies, and there were allot of options available. Some of the windows we look at very high end and very expensive. After hearing numerous sales pitches about why product X or product Y was better we found that most of the sales pitches were not supported by the product documentation and specifications. In fact it seemed like we knew more about the products than some of the salesmen we talked to. East Coast's prices were very reasonable, considering the costs of hurricane doors and windows in general. We were replaced 6 sliding doors and 10 windows as well as a skylight in a house built in 1974; which I feared would be a difficult install because of the manner of construction used at that time. East Coast doors and windows were very knowledgeable about how to instal the product and the unusual portal construction presented no problem for them at all. The salesman very knowledgeable and friendly. The owner of the company actually came out to verify the measurements of the doors and windows before placing the final order. (You know the old adage about measuring twice before cutting). The installers were very concerned about making sure we were satisfied with the work, asking us more than once during the installation if everything was to our expectations (a very rare behavior with contractors generally). When one of the windows was delivered the installers saw that it was cracked and brought it to our attention advising us that it would be remedied; which it was. Some of the windows that we were putting in were custom sizes and the and some needed the frame to be built out to accommodate window flashing for a replacement roof. East Coast was able to make the custom window and also able to build out the frame to the roofers specifications without a problem. I'm having allot of work done at my house and all I can say is I wish all of the contractors where as professional, competent and concerned about the quality of work as East Coast. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again if I had to replace my windows. Put simply, these guy rock.

I was very pleased with them. My only complaint was that they could have cleaned the windows outside. They advised that they do not do this . About a year later, I noticed an imperfection in the window. They service representative from PGT came out, inspected and he replaced the window a week later. He also helped adjust the other widows I found the service representative form PGT to be outstanding= I would certainly recommend this company.

IN MY OPINION, THIS IS NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY. The company representative had the nerve to tell me, over the phone, that my job would be too small for his company to handle. I guess a $1500 is too cheap for this company to handle. Please note that homeowners should NOT call this company for any type of work because a single family home is insignificant and not important to them. I WOULD NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY FOR ANY FUTURE JOBS. It will be their loss afterall since I was also going to have all the windows in my home replaced with hurricane-proofed windows and doors. Insignificant job? I don't think so. I am giving this job to a better company.

I sent East Coast an email by mistake. I did not notice that they are located in Pompano, they responded right away though, informing me that they do not come as far south as my home.

It was totally fantastic. Choose them based Angie's List reviews. They were very professional. It was very long process only becuase of ordering and getting permits. Took six weeks for the windows but becuase of the manufactuer. Did not encounter any unexpected issues. Would very much recommend to family and friends. The windows and doors in the entire house had to be replaced

Sometimes, people do not want to deal with women and they did. They were responsive to my inquiry to come out and talk with me and they didn't talk down to me. They were very professional. They were prompt. They also invited me to their showroom which I appreciated because I could see their product before they came out. Somebody came out to my home and looked at the installation on what it would be so they could better determine what was best for the installation. After my windows were manufactured, I felt that it was handled very well and I was very pleased with it. I was pleased with the quality of the product I had and I was pleased with the end result also. I was a little nervous in the middle with communication because I didn't feel there was a lot of communication there but they didn't ask money from me for this process so I have nothing to loss so that was a comfort level too so they went into the manufacturing process without any upfront money. It was a really good product. I was very pleased from beginning to end. It was very good quality. I didn't have to pay everything until it was signed off by the city and completely done. I had a good experience with them. They have integrity and I like their quality of their product. There was a silent period and there could have been more communication there. They were great as far as punctuality. We definitely recommended them to people. We've highly recommended them to our neighbors.

Job when well. Had a window crack 3 weeks after installation. Call manufacturer and they replaced the winow

It was a pleasure dealing with East Coast Windows. Chris came exactly on time to the condo to measure and was very pleasant. He educated me on all aspects of hurricane impact windows, including their construction and installation. Because very few residents of our building had actually changed the 40 year old windows, he was more than willing to educate the condo board on his specific windows. Heather, in the office, sent me an estimate promptly. She answered all my questions and if she didn't have an answer, got one and relayed it to me quickly. Their price was extremely competitive. As it turned out, we decided to wait on the project, but my experience with East Coast Windows was very positive and I would have no problem using them.

Replaced all sliding glass doors and windows with impact windows and doors

I was looking for a quote to replace my kitchen window. When I called on a Friday, I was told that the person that I needed to speak to was unavailable until Monday and was transferred to her phone mail. The rep. called back on Monday morning. She was pleasant and professional, she knew her product well and gave me all the information that I would need to make an educated decision. The quote came by e-mail latter in the afternoon, just as I was told it would.

The crew arrived when they said they would. From the owner to the crew, they were extremely professional and friendly. They communicated every detail and kept me abreast of what was going to happen and when. They were very good about cleaning up when they were installing the windows/doors. Whatever mess was created was taken care of as they proceeded. They also took away shutters, screens, any and all existing window stuff that was associated with the old windows.

No problems with removal and installation. A 4 man team did the work in 1 dayb - 11 openings and 2 sliders. Installers spoke English, were friendly and courteous. Permitting and lead test were handled by East Coast. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend.

Called for an estimate to replace our windows with PGT hurricane impact windows and spoke to Mandy. She said they were very busy and scheduled an appointment a week and a half later. She said she would call back later to confirm the exact time. Mandy called back Friday afternoon to confirm the appointment time for the next Monday. My husband and I were together in his car and had her on speaker. We both heard her say Chris would be out Monday at 3 pm. We arranged our day so we could both be home for the estimate. When it became 3:30 and no one had shown up or called I called Mandy to ask what the problem was. She was argumentative and said she had told us between 3:00 and 4:00 and that she never gives a specific time even though we both heard 3:00. She called Chris and said he was on his way. About 3:45 Chris showed up and I told him we were expecting him at 3:00 and I was not happy he was late. He also became very argumentative and said we were wrong and that he always gives a time window because he can't be expected to arrive at a specific time. I told him 3 other companies had all managed to give us a specific time and arrive on time. This just made Chris more angry. This was a red flag to me because there was obviously a misunderstanding and instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding and politely explaining his scheduling policy and saying he would talk to Mandy he became aggressive. It made me think that if there was a problem with our windows he would become angry, aggressive and say it was our problem and we were wrong. The rest of the estimate didn't go any better. Since we waited over a week and a half for an appointment, we already had 3 other companies out for estimates and had been on the phone with PGT and on the internet researching all the options. We asked him a lot of questions and told him what we thought we wanted. Some of his answers were condescending and brash. I understand he must get tired of spending all day doing estimates and answering the same questions over and over but isn't that his job? Of the 4 companies we interviewed, Chris from East Coast Windows was by far the worst as far as being customer service oriented. I was amazed because there were so many great reviews on Angie's List. I thought maybe their prices would be dramatically lower since he bragged several times about being the largest distributor for PGT windows in the area. When we got the quote it was in line with the other companies but not low enough to put up with such aggressive behavior. On a positive note, when we visited their showroom we spoke to Justin who was excellent, very polite and informative. I wish he had been the one to come out and give us a quote. I felt like this company was so busy that they didn't care whether we used them or not. The other 3 companies we called sent representatives who were polite, professional and very respectful and seemed to really want our business. Needless to say we didn't even consider using East Coast Windows.

Very professional and responsive service. Price was not the cheapest but the product used was the best. They were on time from beginning to end. Will use them again and would recommend to everyone.
