Description of Work: Scheduled 4 months ahead of time...tried to pick me up 3 days earlier than contract. When the 48 hr window for them to move me came ...they did not show up...I had to call them and they made excuses. This almost cost me the sale of my house. Thankfully my real estate agent found a local company that picked my things up right after house closing like angels. You are forewarned they are Horrible liars..will say anything to get your money...Con Men...one of the WORST experiences of my entire life!!!!!!!

As described above not well at all.
Description of Work: We contracted with Continental Van Lines, 600 NE 28 Court, Pompano Beach, FL 33064 to move us from Dickson, TN 37055 to Crestview, FL 32536 on 5/31/2012. The two moving men arrived as expected and seemed nice, but would turn our furniture upside down and take it to the truck and place a padding around the piece then come back and get another. The padding was not secured around each piece of furniture and when we got to FL there was a lot of damage to many pieces of furniture. The date I contracted with the van lines I went through each piece of furniture and estimated the weight. I did have a few more boxes than was estimated, but was told that was not a big deal. I was given an estimated weight amount and cost of the move. Now remember I went through each piece of furniture we have with the estimater! After the movers loaded and left they went to a local weight station and I was told the weight was double what was estimated. The estimater told me he was estimating the pieces high and not to worry. Later I found out the Continental Van Lines contraced someone else out to do the move itself so now I was dealing with two companies. The moving company itself was: General Moving Company, Inc5361 Jordan DriveMemphis, TN 38116901-398-8696www.genmoving.com The price I was quoted was: $2,534.64, but the final price was $3,841.39. A difference of $1,306.75 I don't want this to happen to anyone else! It has crushed our finances. I am on disability and now have no money for food or car gas. Thank God I have family in the area, because they have brought food over for us. Sincerely,Deborah Adams-Cochran
