Description of Work: They do not have their own employee installers. They subcontract this out. Well at least on our job they did. I wanted French Doors, "Shawn" said I didn't have enough space. Took two tries to get City Inspection approval. Called them back again because lock was sticking. Owner of company came. Owner said they custom make their own French Doors, and didn't know why "Shawn" didn't tell me that. Price was never an issue for us. It was a circus and we will NEVER USE this company again.

Unfortunately good installers work and get paid by "piece work" in South Florida today. The installers that I use work for both myself and Gold Coast Windows. I've known the owner of this company for over 25 years and worked together with him in another company many years ago. To say that we "subcontracted" this out is not completely true. Shawn has explained to me that when Mrs. [member name removed] inquired about French doors, she was offered aluminum doors with full glass that could be made for the opening that existed but she said she was not interested in aluminum and full glass. This is understandable because a lot of people do not want full glass for front doors. They then decided on a composite door and sidelight that are only available in standard sizes. The installation of the standard door took considerable alteration to the opening to make it fit correctly thus resulting in the inspector requesting that more screws be added to the door and sidelight even though they were installed according to the product approval. It is not uncommon for an inspector to request additional work. The screws were added and the inspection was "finaled" upon the inspectors return. I did visit the site a couple of times and met with Mr. [member name removed] . We got along well and he did express his displeasure with Shawn and for that I apologized. I explained what could have been done as an alternative and he was concerned with doing what made his wife happy. Unfortunately I never did have the pleasure of meeting Mrs. [member name removed]. It seems to me that this was a case of misunderstanding and "he said" and "she said" with the results being unfortunate.

Forget about using this Company. After wasting days with the General Manager and finally signing a contract and putting money down on the Job, the company owner and foreman came to preview the job. The foreman was a sour unhappy man who immediately started looking for reasons not to do the job. Later the General Manager called me and told me they would not do the job. Now this is after a signed contract with money down. Fortunately they had not cashed my deposit check. I would not recommend using this company. It certainly seems to be that they are trying to "Cherry Pick" the easy jobs. If your job requires anything beyone the easy, don't call these guys. They did return my deposit.
Description of Work: Install Hurricane Windows.....After contract was signed and money put down they decided not to do the job.

Unfortunately this gentleman was looking for more than window repair. The salesman did sell replacement windows and as is our policy we do not cash a deposit check until our installation manager measures the job. After we measured the job we found extensive hidden rotted wood which made the opening structurally unsafe. We pointed this out to the customer and he admitted that he knew it and was insisting on us doing the job. We are window replacement specialists and not prepared to do structural modifications. We do pull building permits on every job and on this job we would have needed engineering calculations and in order to do the work correctly we would have to hire an outside building contractor to rebuild the opening. We decided that if we can not do the job and do it correctly it is better to apologize and return the customer's check, which is what we did.

The job started earlier than expected which was to my liking. I was told that it would take about 6 wks before they would be able to start so , i was happy that it was sooner. However, they did not realize that PGT hadn't sent all of the windows, so i was missing two windows, and the installers had to come back to finish the job. That was not a problem for me, except that i was asked to pay the company more money , about 25% more, in addition to the 50% deposit given them, even though the job was not done yet. The job was completed the following week, so i didn't have to wait long, which was good. Overall , would say they are a good company, and I am satisfied with the work done. The installers were very nice, polite and wanted to please. Kudos to them.
Description of Work: They removed 23 existing windows and all debris, and replaced them with 15 PGT Impact Glass Horizontal Roller type windows.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME TO DO THE WORK AND THEY HAD THE JOB FINISHED ON TIME. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES VERY NICELY. THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND COURTEOUS. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY.
Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED SOME DOORS AND WINDOWS IN MY HOME.
