This was the worst experience I have ever experienced from a company, period. At first I was told I wouldn't have to pay a "designer fee" because this was a decent sized project over $30,000. Next thing I know, I'm paying the $2200 designer fee because the owner had "obligations" to his employee and that I still would have to pay the fee. I took this as a misunderstanding (first red flag) and continued on with the project. Since I had signed a lengthy contract stating I would pay funds before each stage of work was started, I was ignored when the problems of each project stage arose. Problems were as followed: first worker dry cut cement floor without a wet saw and without coveralls so the entire house (tv's, furniture, clothes) were covered entirely with cement power from the cutting. I contacted the owner of the company and was told to not worry, they would have a cleaning crew come out and clean the house. This never happened and was ignored when I had brought it up a day later. So after cleaning up my own house with complete disregard from Cannatelli Builders, I moved on to the next problem. The owner gave me a lot of attitude and rude remarks when I wanted to purchase appliances on my own, which I had already picked out and noted before contract was drafted up. This was already discussed in the initial contract meeting. Still, I was harassed for not including the $10,000 worth of appliances. Why? Because the owner wanted the commission, for doing nothing, off the price of the appliances. Moving on, I overhead the lead electrician arguing with the owner that my $750 electrical project could wait a few more days. $750??!! I was being charged $5,000 for the electrical work which took only 2 days to complete. I brought what I had heard to the owner and was told I was in breach of contract for talking to sub-contractors about money. Unbelievable. Every time I would remind the owner I had heard this, he just repeated that I was in breach of contract. He spoke to me like he had dealt with upset customers his entire career. When looking up the licenses of the electricians working for the lead electrician, no licenses came up in the state of florida license look-up. When I questioned this, I was told that this matter was none of my business. They continued working in the house for the next two days and I had already paid for this stage of the project. Next, when telling the owner the counter tops, per the counter top manufacturer, had to be cut with a wet saw, he ignored me and just kept repeating that I would have to find someone with the correct saw. He literally would repeat the same line over and over, ending with "just write the checks.. I had to find the correct counter top manufacturer and was still charged a fee for doing so! Lastly, I arrived home to find the owner and another worker, unannounced, in my garage looking at the appliances. They said they were installing my oven. Next to calling the cops for this unannounced entry, I let them install and then, what a surprise, I was charged $200 for 'appliance installation'. So till this day, all of the work Cannatelli Builders provided was all not done to code and was done by 'off the street' unprofessional workers. I was as civil and respectful as possible throughout the entire project and my hard earned money was stolen from me with little to show. This company backs themselves up with big time, popular sponsors and then takes advantage of people with a signed contract to protect them. I strongly advise anyone to stay away from these criminals (Italian tough guys wannabies) who charge their customers 10x what they charge their sub-contractors and threaten to sue if you don't pay up. Worst experience of my life.

Bad. Very bad.
Description of Work: Don't use this contractor. Owner and staff are very unprofessional. Work completed was done half fast. Subcontractors had to redo work numerous times and still could not get things right. This is usually not a big deal if the outcome is good at the end of the day, but the contractor was unprofessional, rude, and blamed us for everything. Then still done half fast. Pricing for work was decent, but I guess you get what you pay for. However it boggles my mind contractors like this are in business for so long.
