Broten Garage Door Sales

In July 2016, I asked for this work to be done and all seemed to go well. We have a 3 car garage with 3 separate doors. The 2 new units were installed. This year, at the start of hurricane season, I decided to check the battery back-ups that allow the doors to open and close when the power gets cut off. Neither of the new units worked. With the power back on, I could see a little red light, which indicates, in the provided manuel, that the battery is dead. A replacement battery from Broten is $50, so I bought the identical Liftmaster battery on Amazon for $34. When I went to install the new battery, I was amazed to see that there was no old battery already in the battery compartment, just 2 wires. I quickly installed the battery and it worked. I checked the 2nd unit and same thing, no old battery in the compartment. When I called Broten, they argued that this unit does not have a battery back up feature. Totally wrong, just that they chintz you by not including the battery and not telling you about the feature. I then got a supervisor on the phone and she said that 95% of their customers don't ask for the battery, which is total baloney. She said they prefer to pay the lower price without the battery. I did a little survey and no-one even knew a battery back up was available, so this is clearly a sales ploy by Broten to offer a lower price and remove this important South Florida feature. Dumb public, I guess and I doubt that Liftmaster would be impressed. She then said you can buy pretty well the same unit with battery for an extra $100. So, there you have it. In my opinion, not an honest way of selling and I won't use them again in any of our properties. Incidentally, a few years back I had a single unit installed elsewhere and it came with the battery and the installer, correctly, made a big deal of showing me how it worked. So, bottom line: Liftmaster products are great, but Broten is not!

We were called ahead of time as promised. Lance came on time...actually sooner than what we expected. He was courteous, friendly, efficient and professional!

I've used this company a number of times over the years and have always been please with their rapid response and professionalism.

Called office in the morning and they provided me with estimates for single and double spring replacement. While recommended replacing both, left it up to me to decide. Got appointment for between 1-4pm same day, they called at 1:03pm to make sure I was available and arrived shortly after the call. Also had them do a quick look over and service of the complete system. Completed the work promptly, no mess, and a smile.

They did a great job. Delivered what promised, when promised. Crew showed up on time, was very professional and neat, and even cleaned up neatly after themselves. Very happy with the experience.

Every now and then an employee comes along that goes above and beyond. I just had my garage door serviced today by William who fits the description of an A+++ employee. I could tell right from the beginning that I was in good hands. He is the type of person who goes beyond what is required not because somebody is watching but because he takes pride in his work. Thank you William for a job well done. You are the benchmark...

Fantastic job. Came within an hour of initial call. Lance, the technician, was extremely nice and very professional. Explained everything, got the new stuff installed quickly and efficiently. As a small business owner, I was very impressed. Great job, would highly recommend them. Ask for Lance if you can get him, super guy and great representative for the company!

Our garage door broke last night (sunday) and I immediately set up an appointment online with Broten. They called promptly at 7:30 and told me someone would be out today between 12 and 3. Around 12:30 I received a call saying my installer was on his way. Lance was my installer today. He arrived on time and ready to work. He assessed the situation and began the installation. He is extremely professional and a pleasure to speak with. Broten has been servicing our garage door since we purchased the house 21 years ago and each time he comes out, he does a great job. He provided us with information to stay on top of any sales and just made the process very painless. I highly recommend these guys.

They were very good. It was excellent service. They were very professional, they took care of it. It worked out really well. I had a very old garage door that was falling apart, a two car garage door. Especially in Florida, given the hurricanes that we have, it's very important for it to be up to code and hurricane proof. That is very important. I found them on Angie's List too, they had a really high rating. They came in, they were very professional and I don't remember ever having an issue with them.

Terrible service. At 3:50 PM, I called the company as I had not heard from them. Empty apology, it felt like I was annoying them. They said they would check with the tech and get back to me. I was called again at 4:40 PM to say that tech had 45 more minutes on his job and had another job to do before he came to me. That would put him here by 7 PM and outside of our availability. Very poor job communicating with me and a terrible customer experience. Beware!

The technician went above and beyond to fix my very old door. Would definitely recommend this company.

Excellent service !!! Called and got their emergency service at 5:45 pm, the service technician Randy, called me back very shortly and said he could be to the house in less than an hour and quoted the repair price. He arrived, replaced the broken spring and left my garage cleaner than it was before. In less than 3 hours the problem was fixed as if it never happened. Broten is the only company I'll use for any garage door issues in the future. And Randy should be commended on his work, he is an asset to the company. Thank you.

The technician they sent, William arrived on time. He was courteous and thorough. Before he left, he reviewed with me what he had done and gave me tips on maintaining the smooth operation of my garage door. I have used Broten for maintenance and installation in the past. This is a great company that can be counted on for top notch work.

Broten was great with the initial appt, setting up the install, getting the permit and door was ready in a timely manor. Good product, but they were not so easy to get back to fix the dented new door, and door buck that they butchered during the install, but after calling and calling it did get fixed. However very sloppy, left screws and debris for me to sweep. A wire left hanging I asked if they could tack it up so it was neat- they just tapped a few nails and wrapped the wire around - could have been more professionally done but all in All in all have a nice new beautiful door. Also not very informative as to how the opener worked-had to read the book myself.

Sales and install went fine. After they have been installed 11 months I have called 3 times for service due to issues. Each time the person in service department taking my call tells me what I must to to correct the problem. This 3rd call is because of loud noise and banging sound as though something is out of line on both doors. She insisted that I lubricate the doors. I insisted that they send someone, she seemed to resist that request. I asked if they don't follow up after an install, she said no. For the money I spent, they want me to correct any problems. I spent $10,113.00 for this job.

Woke up to a non-working garage door. I noticed one overhead spring was broken. I called Broten and got a Noon - 4PM same day window for a service call. Robert called ahead of time and arrived at 2PM. He replaced both springs within one hour. Robert lubricated the rollers and made final adjustments so the door is perfectly balanced. I plan on getting more work done in the future like having my rollers replaced. Great professional job.

Excellent. I called and got next day service. My tech was Randy and he even arrived a couple of hours early (have you ever heard of that before?!). Randy installed a good quality LiftMaster motor with internet connectivity and a phone app. Everything went smoothly and his work was great. Randy is an expert. He works quickly, is professional and personable, and he really knows his product. He gave me some training and tips before he left. Everything is working perfectly. I highly recommend Broten and Randy!

Called for service, was quoted $349.00 and scheduled for same day service. Serviceman arrived late afternoon and completed the work. When the price was given by the serviceman it was $359.60. Broten shows a coupon for 5% discount for Angie's list customers. We presented the coupon and was told that they would not honor the coupon. Extremely bad service no professionalism. This looks extremely bad also for Angie's List as they post the coupon and the provider does not honor.
