Broten Garage Door Sales

No problems from sales to installation.

It did not go well. My gate still does not work, 2 months later. It is still open. They went there after 6 weeks and replaced a roller, but the gate does not move. I find it hard to believe that they did not operate the gate after installing the roller. If they did, then they changed the code and did not let me know the new code. UPDATE 11/09/2011: I received a call by a service supervisor. He indicated that they would do anything necessary to satisfy me. He had a service department person call me to schedule service. We scheduled service for today. A very nice technician, Lance, came and fixed the gate. Now it works perfectly. This company takes their customer service very seriously. I will use them in the future, no question. I am very satisfied with their service.

I called Broten this morning - by early afternoon the technician, Brian, arrived. He found the problem and explained just what needed to be done. He quickly did the installation....he was very professional and explained everything in detail. He was meticulous and extremely pleasant. He showed me how to program the system, how to change the lights and was very thorough.....I was extremely impressed and would recommend them to everyone......

I have used Broten for service work in the past and was very satisfied. My garage door was shaking and the arm was loose so I called them out to repair it. The woman on the phone was very nice and even emailed me a confirmation. The technician was right on time. When he came out he showed me where the door had cracks that were causing the problem. He reconnected the loose arm and said the opener was fine but I would need to replace the door ASAP. I asked him for a replacement quote but he didn?t know any prices and said I had to have a salesman come out. I checked Angie?s list and decided to call Broten and a second company based on the positive reviews. I took the morning off from work to accommodate the appointments. Broten was scheduled for 10:30am. Five minutes before the appointment the salesman Marco called and said he wasn?t made aware of the appointment but could come another day. I told him I could not reschedule to just get here as soon as he could. He said he could meet me in 45 minutes. There was no sign of him at 11:30 so I stepped outside and he was standing in the driveway and already had a quote written up. He never consulted with me but had quoted a door and a new opener. I told him I actually am interested in an insulated door due to the southern exposure and the better warranty. I asked him why I needed a new opener and Marco stated that new doors are much heavier. The Broten quote was $500 more than the comparable quote from the competitor plus the new opener. I told him I would need a couple of days to decide. I decided to give Broten a second chance so I called the Marco back and asked him why they were so much more expensive. He asked me to email him the quote so he could show it to the sales manager. He ended up re-quoting me only a hundred dollars more than the others. I told him neither his repair man or the other salesman thought I needed a new opener. He said mine was ½ horsepower and I really needed ¾ horsepower but quoted me just the better door. I was still inclined to go with Broten so I contacted him again. I was okay with the new quote and only had a question about the door vents. I noticed the insulated door did not have vents. Marco said they would cut vents in the door before installation. I wasn?t sure how attractive that would look. I asked him if it was necessary to meet code. If it wasn?t I would take it without the cut outs or have vents cut into the side wall of the garage. Marco said he would check with the office and call me back or have them email me. This was two weeks ago and I never heard back from anyone at Broten. I don?t feel like I should have to continually chase someone to give them thousands of dollars of my hard earned money. I understand Costco sells garage doors. I'll probably check with them next.

This organization is very well run. They came out and looked at the problem. My doors weren't closing properly anymore. The openers were 15 years old. They installed two new openers which are really high-tech. I love them. Super quiet. The service was on time, professional, responsive and resolved my problem. Great company.

Following our initial call to the company and our description of the problem, the installation technician, Daniel, arrived early the next morning. After diagnosing the situation, he clearly outlined what needed to be done and advised us of the exact cost to replace the existing equipment. Once we approved the work, he commenced the removal of the existing system and the installation and testing of the brand new operating system. He then took great pains to explain al the new state-of-the-art features before leaving. We were exceedingly pleased with his professionalism and the value of the new equipment.

The service provided by Broten was exceptional for start to finish. The worst thing about the experience was the nearly 3 week wait for installation after my down payment was made but I can understand that they are just in demand. The installer was very helpful in getting me acquainted with my new garage door and explained the opener repair which was needed and how I should do that myself. I highly recommend Broten for your next garage door.

The Individual was professional and courteous and helped to not only fix the spring but perform general maintenance that we had been neglecting, but was explained fully what he wanted to do and what extra costs may occur before doing the work.

Our garage broke prior to leaving for the weekend. We called Broten 1st thing Monday morning and they had someone out within a couple hours. He was efficient and courteous.

Excellent! They were a little more pricey than others.

Garage door on a new construction home sounded tortured when it was opened and closed. I contacted Broten based on their favorable rating on this site. My call was answered promptly around 8:15 A.M. and a repair person arrived at my house around mid-day. After a brief inspection, the repair person said the door suffered from lack of use. Also, he recommended upgrading the track wheels from metal to nylon and upgrading the motor from a 1/2 horsepower unit to a 3/4 horsepower unit. I agreed to upgrade the wheels and he went about changing them and lubricating the door's many hinges. In less than an hour he was finished. He advised me to lubricate the hinges monthly and try using the door more often. I paid for the can of lubricant he used ($10) and for an extra can ($10). While the door still sounded tortured when used after he left, within a couple of days it became more quiet - although the operation is not smooth. During that time I remembered he only handed me the half-full canof lubricant he used, but not the new can. I called to let them know and asked that someone leave a can by my front door. Later that day I received a voice mail saying they checked with the repair person and he was certain he handed the new can to me. Conclusion: I was impressed with how quickly someone was dispatched. While what I paid seems a bit steep for the work performed, I'm somewhat pleased with the end-result. However, I'm disappointed they did not deliver the missing can of lubricant. Now they have my $10, but not my future business. UPDATE: After posting this report, I received a vmail with an apology for the misunderstanding and a can of garage door lubricant was delivered to my house.

Very prompt, friendly. Fixed the problem and gave suggestions on maintenance so it doesn't happen again.

The company is very professional all down the line from the estimate to completion. The salesman came to give an estimate and was very knowledgable about the product. We set up an approximate date since we had to wait for the permit, but he said they would call as soon as they received the permit. I received follow-up calls and they were able to do the door sooner than I had expected. The installers were great and we had our new door and opener in about 3 hours. They programmed my car and left the garage clean. All in all a very nice experience.

They were very good. They were punctual and very professional. Their price was reasonable and they did good work in terms of installation. They did a good job. I would use them again in the future. Everything was fine and there was nothing that stood out that was negative. I did not have a basis for comparing their price but it seemed fair.

If the company can not give you a free estimate look for another company.

They were great. They were fast, courteous and clean. They were nice. They were dependable as they would come when they said that they would. We had a coupon from Angie's List that we used for this visit. We have used them for over a year and we were very happy with them. They have replaced rollers on the old garage doors and have done different kinds of maintenance work on them prior to this visit.

They had good customer service, the price was reasonable and they were flexible when we needed to reschedule.

I called the company on Monday. They came on Tuesday and removed the old opener and installed the new one. The many even readjusted the door so that it closes much more tightly that it has in a long time. I am very satisfied with the service.

Great. They not only had to work around a garage full of unpacked moving boxes but also had to move some of them outside for the installation. They did this without complaint! They even replaced the packing boxes for me. Very good company with a very good product.

On time, professional and quote was the price charged.

I called them based on information I recieved in Angie's List. They were as good as everyone reported. the salesman came to my home and described their doors and I chose the one I wanted. Within 2 weeks they were installing my new door. The men that came to install the door were very professional and completed the work very quickly. They worked to overcome some problems with my garage construction and the door works beautifully and quietly. I am extremely pleased with their product and I had a good experience with everyone I spoke with from this company. I would use them again if I needed to.

i have used this company twice in the past and was satisfied, but this time I called and told them it was not an emergency so just set up a time in the morning on any day. I also mentioned Angies list. I was told someone would come between 7 and 9 the next morning and that I was the first call of the day...I was also told that the tech would call before he arrived. At 8:15 I called and asked if I was still on the schedule. I was now told that I was to be the second call and that the tech was in Miami, but would call before he arrived here. I gave them my cell phone number so that I could run some errands near my home while I waited for the techs call. I reminded the lady that I spoke with that i would not be available in the afternoon. At 9:30 i called again and was now told in an abrupt manner (by a different lady from the one I had spoke with before) that I was on the schedule but that I had never been given a specific time frame. I reminded this lady that I wouldn't be available after 12:30. At 2:00 my cell phone rang to deliver the message that a tech was now available. I could not answer the phone as I was unavailable at that time. Very disappointing that no one even apologized for the inconvenience they caused. I had another company come and fix the problem and will not deal with Broten again

They were very good. I am waiting for an inspector to come in from the county to get a permit. I had them work on the older garage door when someone backed into it and they repaired part of it. I had some other issues with it and I called them and they have always been very good and always came within a day or two. This time I looked around very carefully to have a garage door put in because we are in an area where we have hurricanes. Had to get one which was W8 wind factor 8 because that is for hurricane and it is the law and they have to give you that. They came down here and I talked to them and the sales person was very pleasant. He made recommendations and their price was right and I also checked them with another place who sold the same door. The price included everything and they took the old door away, put the brand new door in and cleaned up after themselves. They put the door in a little under 3 hours and they replaced all the hardware. They said that they would have it done in 3 weeks and it took a little time to get the permit, but then brought everything down here. Two men came and they took the old door off and put it on the truck and installed the new one and it is working fine. They sell garage doors and gates and they also do installation for another company that only sells the same doors as they do.

Broten repairman showed up on time, I explained what I wanted, and he said it should only take an hour and gave me the cost estimate. He was very professional, straightened the door, lubed all moving parts, and replaced both overhead springs. And all within the hour timeframe! The replacement springs are longer, heavier duty and have a lifetime warranty. I wish the price was cheaper, but that's just human nature. Everyone always wants things cheaper, me included! I do think the price was fair, after researching how much other companies charge to replace springs. Overall, I was very happy with the service and would not hesitate to use or recommend Broten again!
