 + 0 moreBoth crews (garage door and personnel doors were different crews) did a great job. All the work turned out great. And while they were not the cheapest quote I think you pay for what you get, and we got an excellent product. We went with one of the more expensive, insulated doors which brought the price up a bit. They showed up when they said they would, worked steadily and cleaned up before they left. The only thing I would have wanted changed is if they would have painted the doors, but I am finding that very few vendors offer this service.
Description of Work: They replaced the garage door with automatic opener, one personnel door on the side, and a double front door.

 + -1 moreJohn Demarco and Broten Garage Doors were highly recommended by another Angie's list provider. John was very professional. Not at all "pushy and explained all details of the installation. On the day of installation, Jason and Jose installed the garage door. They were prompt, courteous and went as far as helping me clear a path to the door. Jason explained the operation of the door. The door passed the first time with the city inspector. Definitely would recommend this company to all my friends and neighbors.

They provided instruction on operation and gave us all the paperwork (including the permit). They took all the old door and opener parts and also cleaned up. Great job!

The installation guys showed up exactly on time. They did an amazing job with the installation and totally cleaned up afterwards. I LOVE our new insulated, up to code hurricane resistant garage door.  + -1 moreDave worked for over two hours and did not like the way my hinges sounded, so he lubed the door and all the hinges and well. He programmed my car and the garage door openers and well and the key pad that is on the outside of the house. Everything works great!!!! The invoice that was printed in the office failed to include the warranty information so he hand wrote it in for me as well. I am very happy with the professionalism and quality of work. I will recommend Broten to my clients.
Description of Work: My 18 ft garage door suddenly crashed down when I went to close it over the weekend. The door is extremely heavy and as a real estate broker I am in and out of my home office several times a day. Broten has emergency weekend service and Dave came out that afternoon. He called me from his job in West Palm and was right on time. I needed a new motor and he did not have the item on his truck...but did come back at the earliest time that accommodated my schedule.

Description of Work: My experience with Broten started off pleasantly in needs for my garage door. I waited over 35 + days for my new door to arrive after the permit time etc. Once the door finally arrived, the employees that measured, measured incorrectly. It was nearly 2ft too big. Then, I had to wait another 30 days for the new door to arrive. I was told that Broten would comp the cost of the "special order" sized door, which was professional of them. After the deposit was already paid & we were nearly 60 days invested, we were told that they could still install the garage door however due to the permit, there was not enough clearance to put a motor. I felt this should have been figured out before hand because now I am getting a garage door that can't go up and down unless lifted by hand, which is heavy! Therefore I was receiving a garage door without a motor which was heavy to lift and the purpose is for convenience. By that time, I just wanted a garage door to safely store my items. After the door was installed, which looked beautiful, quality good, service techs professional and helpful, I had to hire a different company to install the actual motor. The other company asked me why it was ever an issue when the door was installed. They installed a great quiet opener for me within 1 day at a very fair price & my garage door is working wonderfully! That was the best $320 I ever spent. It is great that Broten is a "one stop shop" with gates, fencing, & garage doors, but I just installed two beautiful drive way gates & matching welded fencing, but took my business elsewhere because I was unsure about trusting the turnover time. The customer service with this issue was handled nicely after I sent an email. They were very professional. Props on that. I had always heard great things about Broten but my experience wasn't as I wished. Overall, I hate writing bad reviews, I really do, but sometimes there are just bad luck situations. I feel that Broten is professional and it was just a glitch that all of these errors happened. I always received a customer service help promptly, and they tried their best. I am giving them an overall B because I feel that this situation was just human error.

 + 0 moreBroten scheduled the time for 8:00 a.m. They arrived promptly at 8:00 and finished the job by 10:00 a.m. The technician explained how to use the garage door opener and the more intricate parts of the control panel in a clear and concise way. He worked very cleanly and took all of the trash with him. I was very impressed.

 + -1 moreThey came when they said and everybody that I talked to was professional. It cost that much because it was one grade up as it was insulated; otherwise it would have been a little cheaper. It took a while before they set it up; they originally told me it would be three to five weeks but it took closer to seven. There were a couple of little issues but they came and fixed it. When they put the door, the handle was crooked. I brought it to their attention so they fixed it but I should not have had to bring it to their attention. They did not give me any problem but it was so crooked that when they put it in, they should have realized. They were here again today because the door started making noise and the guy came and greased everything up; I do not know if the other guy should have but this guy even left me the can of spray and the other one did not; it depends who I deal with but everybody was quite nice.

The sale rep was very professional, knowlegeable, and helpful. Good quality job. My wife was home when the installers came to install the new door, she said they "did not seem that friendly" but they did a good job. I would use this company again and recommend this company to friends and family.
