Air Around the Clock A/C & Appliance Service

They gave me two different prices from two different salesman, about a 1000 dollars apart. The maintenance service they provided was checked by a third party and they stated the coil looked like it had not been cleaned in years.

Eddie immediately diagnosed the problem and restarted the fan motor that cools the refrigerator. He showed me how to do it should the motor fail before he could return with the new one, which it did and I was able to restart it. He called from the shop to say he would have to order the part and when he could return to finish. He came out on the day promised and replaced the motor. He was punctual, professional, proficient and friendly.

It went well, overall. They came on time and did the work in a timely manner. They cleaned up well and we didn't have any problems. They did what they said they would. We thought the price was fair.

Arrived on time, very polite technician (Jack), knew quickly what the problem was, suggested ways to avoid it in future, gave lots of tips on maintenance. Suggested purchasing 2-year maintenance plan, which will save a couple hundred dollars over that time period.

A few months earlier, the company provided a free estimate to install a new central air/heat conditioner and handler. After comparison shopping, we found that they offered premium quality products at a competitive rate and had a great reputation for quality customer service. I called on a Monday morning (10/06/08) to schedule the installation. Our A/C had stopped working over the weekend so, fortunately, I was given a next day appointment (10/07). Additionally, the company made arrangements to come out on Mon/10-06 to see if they could do any temporary repair so that we would have air conditioning until the new system was installed the next day. A repairman arrived approximately 2 hours later and within minutes we had cool air blowing again from our very old, tired A/C. We were advised it was temporary but would probably last until the new system was installed. Installation Day- Tue/10-06: The installers called approximately 0745 on the morning of the appointment to advise they would be arriving between 0830 and 0930am. They arrived at 0900am. After brief introductions and a summary of what they would be doing, they began working and continued to do so until the new A/C system and handler were installed. After cleaning up all the debris, they reviewed the manual and operating instructions with me. The installation took approximately four and one-half hours, much less time than had been projected. I was quite pleased with the service provided. Their office personnel, repairman and installers were professional and courteous. We definitely recommend Air Around The Clock for repairs and installation.

Imagine my surprise when on Sunday 8-12 there was water all over the floor under my unit which is located in the attic, creating damage to my recently painted ceiling. I called ATC the worker was back at my house in 2 hours, and this worker said I need new coils, and I have a freon leak-WHAT! I said yesterday my air was fine and today I have water on the floor and need new coils and have a leak, who was the guy they sent yesterday? I called the office manager on Monday, and they were going to send someone out again on Monday, but I had an appointment and agreed to meet a supervisor at my home on Tuesday. The supervisor said I DO NOT have a freon leak but I do need new coils. They agreed to come to my home on the following Saturday to replace the coils, at a discounted price of $995.00. This seemed a little high, so I called a/c place that was recommended by a friend. This new company quoted me a price of $725.00 (no discount), said there was no rush but I would be needing coils soon, and I DO in fact have a leak, and showed me that my unit had really NEVER been maintained, and that after 3 visits in one week, I still had water in the pan, and nothing had been cleaned. I called ATC back, canceled my appointment for new coils, when the manager asked why, I told her I now had FOUR opinions 3 of which were from air around the clock, each was different, and I was now saving about $175.00 from their NOT discounted price. I asked for the $225.00 back and she replied that it would take 30 days. I told her that would give me plenty of time to contact the BBB, Broward County Div. of Consumer Affairs and of course Angie's list. Miraculously the check appeared 2 days later. I thought I was dealing with a reputable company, but I will NEVER use them again.

There was a wire melted and he was able to fix it and only charge me the service call charge. They did a great job!

I was very pleased with them and very happy, also. From the time that I had called them to the time they arrived at my house, everything went pretty great.

I thought that they were reliable and efficient. They didn't try to add on any extras and they showed up when they said they were going to.

I had a bad experience with this company about 8 years ago, but decided to give them another chance because of their good scores here on Angie's List. I spoke with one of the owners, Eric Pereira, and explained all this to him. He said he would put his best people on it to win back my business. They arrived the next day when promised. The two men were professional for the most part. They could not complete the installation because they lacked the proper heating strip. They wanted payment before the work was completed. I offered them $3000 and the remaining $500 when they finished the job. The installer, Patrick, called the office who told him to finish the job and collect the whole amount...that they were sending the proper part over. Patrick had a temper tantrum and started throwing things around and undid the installation to get at the heating strip...very angry and cursing stating that it was hot and he was hungry...Soon, the proper part was delivered and the installation was completed and Patrick cooled down. I made the full payment. The building permit was done a few days later and the inspection passed with no problems. I had to clean up some smudges where they were a bit sloppy with the caulking, but all-in-all it was a decent installation and as good as one would expect in South Florida. I could have done without the floor show, however. The grille protecting the coils was slightly scratched, but I will mention that to them and I am sure they will replace it or fix it. It is a minor complaint. I would recommend them for installations and change outs.

They were fantastic. A careful crew that cleaned up after themselves and did quality work on time.

I called on Friday when my AC went out (I knew it was "dying" and expected to contract for a new one). Because my husband is disabled, they scheduled installation for the next morning and by 2 PM we had the new system up and running. They cleaned up carefully and were very courteous.

The service technician arrived as scheduled and did an excellent job. He went beyond what was required and I would recommend this company without hesitation. There was no estimate since the problem was not known. The faulty part was left with us and the price was fair. In the past their price was much lower than other companies when we had problems and another company had given an estimate after telling us what was wrong.

I have been totally satisfied with the services. It was fixed right the first time and the cost was reasonable.

I was happy with Around the Clock Air Conditioning. They come quickly and promptly. The servicemen are very polite and professional. I liked that they were careful not to harm any of my property. I do use different companies at times, but I think this one is fine.

From the salesman to the men that installed the a/c systems everybody was wonderful. They took everything apart put it all back together with the new air conditioners. They cleaned up after they finished. The house looked like they were never there. I would recommend them highly.

They came to my house exactly two months ago. They did a very thorough cleaning of both of the air conditioners. They were just really kind and friendly. They were very customer service oriented.

Air Around The Clock is well known as being reliable in the community, which is a well deserved compliment. They did a great job with the installation at a very fair price. I also have a service agreement for $150 a year for twice yearly maintenance, which gives me peace of mind. I like this company and would refer them to others.

I did not like the attitude of the gentleman that came out to do the estimate. He was rude and arrogant. I did think they were right about my needing a new unit, but since I didn't like the way I was treated, I will go with another company to purchase the new unit.

They have been very nice and my house is much cooler after the work was completed. Additionally, my air conditioning bill has not risen. We only paid $1500 for our unit. Our previous system, which we replaced, cost us $4000.

I called in a service call at 9:00 am and by 9:45 am, their tech, Terry, arrived and had the unit up and running by 10:00 am. Now that's service!!

Emergency call out on Christmas Day was $175.00. Repairman advised needed new fan motor - cost between $900 and $1200, and could not be done that day. Found another company who came out next day and replaced the fan motor. Their total for parts and labor was $250. Air Around The Clock seems to be over priced.

First service man recommended replacing wheel & motor. Second service man came out with wrong parts. Third service man found that only the set screw was loose and replacement was not necessary and charged for a service call instead of a new blower wheel and motor. He and company were honest to report that a new wheel and motor were not necessary.

Called first thing in the morning (8:30) after A/C had gone out. Service tech was at the house within an hour. He evaluated the problem and made recommendations. Within 24 hours the entire new system was in place and operating.

Air Around the Clock responded to our first call, scheduling the work to meet our needs. Mechanic arrived at the time agreed upon and was very professional and polite. We would definitely use them again for any A/C or other appliance service needed.
