They were $300 cheaper than the competition and are a much bigger company, so I figured they would be best able to provide service if needed. They arrived only a half hour after their promised time. There were two workers - one worked on the inside unit (air handler) and the other on the outside unit (compressor). They were polite and professional throughout and did their best to minimize any mess. They finished the work in five hours, everything worked fine (and is still working fine), and they did a thorough clean-up before leaving. They explained the new thermostat, routine maintenance on the air handler, and left manuals on everything.

The service rep was a pleasant professional. He provided a quote for replacement and was able to give a resonably quick fix so we did not have to live without air in the Florida heat for the time interval we needed for our decision on a service provider to complete the new installation. Although we did not go with this company, they were a strong contender on our list of service providers. The work was more than satisfactory and the quote for the new installation was not out of line.
Description of Work: The service rep had to replace a part in the airconditioning unit. He also provided a quote for a new unit as the age and condition of unit required replacement shortly. He stated the price of service could be deducted from the cost of new unit installation. The repair work was completed neatly and efficiently. The quote for the replacement unit was provided at the time of this visit.

Service rep came out to determine the problem. Charged $95 and was told if they made repairs they would credit this amount. A few days later a tech came to my home (hours after they originally told me they would arrive) and cleaned coils, and I was told the problem would be solved. A few hours later A/C completely cease to function. Another tech came by and said the unit did not have adequate freon. They filled with freon. Three weeks later A/C kept shutting off again. I called to schedule an apt.thinking the service visit would be covered. A rather oddball tech came out (again I waited all day). He was trying to determine what the problem was (whilst speaking outlloud to himself). He said that while he was placing his monitoring equipment on the unit the compressor seized. I was without A/C for hours after that. He finally replaced a part that he said was substandard and charged me an additional $165.00. I am still trying to figure out why I was not initally told that I had a substandard part. My A/C is still randomly shuuting off. I will not use them again.

When we went out to the customer’s house on 06/08/10 it was determined that the coil inside the unit was dirty. She decided to get the coil cleaned, and we set up an appointment go to back on 06/12/10 to clean the coil. The customer requested an early morning appointment. Due to our high volume of calls during the summer, we try and accommodate all of our customers with in the time frame they have requested. Our technicians always try and get out to our customers in a timely manner. We did the coil clean on 06/12/10. Later that day the customer called back to our office and said her air was not cooling. We went back out and filled her unit with Freon at no charge. At that time the temperature inside the house was 75 degrees. The customer called back on 07/24/10 to say her unit had been leaking. When my technician was there he determined that the capacitor on the unit was bad. This has nothing to do with the coil clean or the Freon. The capacitor is a mechanical issue with the unit. It was replaced and the customer was charged $165.00.

My A/C bills were terrible and I found out that they had mismatched the proper unit for me. I had used them for ten years and suddenly they stopped coming. I called up and they said that I had to call them, which was ridiculous because I never called them in the past to come out. They don't guarantee any work, but they will do work which doesn't have parts cost under the contract. They failed to do this as agreed and now I don't use them anymore.

Was told that they cannot give solid timeframe - only to call the day of the appointment and give a 2-3 hour window. If I am going to spend several thousand dollars with a company- I expect for them to meet with me on my schedule. Sorry- other a/c companies are more convenient.

They were very professional and punctual. They came out and gave us an estimate on the same day I called for one and replaced the unit the next day. They took their time with the install, cleaned up after themselves and removed the old units. The actual prices of the units will be less, after the manufacture rebate and the tax credit the units cost just under $2500.

Instead of charging me for the service of the repair, they sold me a year maintenance plan which cost about the same. They charged me $180 for the job.

This customer has been with our company since 2005 and we have performed various services. The last time we were at this customers house was 04/29/08. She was told that her evaporation coil was rusted out and needed to be replaced. She was given an estimate for replacing the evaporation coil along with an estimate to install a new unit. On 04/29/08 the customer had scheduled us to come out and replace her system on 04/30/08. On the day we were going to replace her system the customer called and canceled. We have not been back to her house since 04/29/08 due to her canceling when we were supposed to go back out there and install her new system.

The gentleman who came by was punctual, professional, and very friendly. My husband and I bought a townhouse that hadn't been lived in in about 1.5 years, so obviously the A/C needed a tune-up. We ended up signing up with their maintenance program - would definitely recommend them!

I contacted them because their ad suggested they come quickly. They also deal with appliances and my oven was broken. Their scam is that they require an $85 just to come, but the promise is that they will refund that money to you if you actually use them to do the work. Regardless of what they do, if anything, they expect you to pay when they show up. I paid and then they said they had to get a specific part and they would be back. It took them nearly a month to come back. I called them and I'd take off work and they wouldn't show up. When they finally came they brought a second person and it was a fairly easy job just replacing a simple part. They tried to charge more than what the original estimate was, but I called them out so they had me pay a lower amount. I found out later that the service technicians are paid on commission so they are motivated to up sale.

To start we charge an $ 85.00 service charge to go out to a customer’s house. The member was aware of this when he called our office and asked us to come out to his home. He signed the ticket that stated there was an $ 85.00 service charge. We take offense as a company that he is calling this a scam. Every appliance company will collect service charge to go out to a customer’s home. The member has a Whirlpool double oven. If Whirlpool was to come out to his house they would have charged him $ 69.95 for a service charge that would not have been waived if any repairs needed to be done. When our company does any repairs the service charge gets waived and the cost to the customer becomes only parts and labor. To understand and appreciate the cost and overhead of running a legitimate company, here are some of the costs: 1) cost to get service call (advertising) 2) cost of person to answer phone 3) cost of phones and bill 4) cost of building to house company and taxes 5) cooling costs (electric) 6) insurance on building 7) health insurance cost for all employees 8) workman’s comprehension insurance for a/c tech, appliance techs and a/c installers 9) truck to get tech to jobsite house 10) insurance on truck 11) liability insurance that covers tech while in house and/or if any incidents or house damages, property damages or even sexual harassment 12) taxes on parts and equipment 13) licenses, state, county and city 14) salaries of employees and taxes 15) gasoline and upkeep on trucks It costs more than the $ 85.00 service charge just to put our man at your door. After our technician diagnosed what was wrong with the member's oven and he was told that he needed a thermal fuse at the very least and possibly a board. We would not know for sure if he would need the board until the fuse was changed. He was quoted $ 350.00 for the fuse and the board. His oven is 51’ inches tall, 30’ inches wide and weighs 238 lbs. This requires two men to remove it and get to the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse was ordered and it took 3 weeks to get in the part. When the part arrived we contacted Mr. Johnston and sent out two technicians to remove the oven and change the thermal fuse. After the fuse was installed it was determined that he did not need the board. The additional charge was $ 102.50. Our men do not get paid by commission at the member's contention. They charged him less than the repair because he did not need the board. If our men were paid commission they would have charged more money to make that commission. As we stated earlier, The member's comments are very offensive. We did nothing short of providing him with excellent service and took care of the problem he was having with his oven. This is why we have an A rating with Angie’s list and the BBB. We keep the customer informed and complete all of our work in a timely manner.

The service personal worked quickly and efficiently. The dispatcher was short over the telephone. The dispatcher’s attitude was take it or leave it; which left a negative taste in mouth. The service tech was good and professional.

They installed a new AC in 2005 and I have been using them since then. I made an agreement with them for the preventative maintenance of the AC where they check the system, the filters and the line. They do a very good job. They give a 10% off for the parts and don't charge for service call if the customers have the contract. I have redone the contract twice since 2005 and I was so pleased with them that the second time I made the contract for three years. I have never had to call them back for anything and they are very responsive. I don't have any complaints about them.
Description of Work: Air Around The Clock A/C & Appliance come out twice a year for the preventative maintenance. Their last visit was in September for cleaning the blower.

They came out and they were nice. They were on time. I didn't go with them, because someone else was able to give me a lot more information. They were cheaper than the company that I went with. They didn't do anything wrong, I just felt more comfortable with the other company. They were fine. I paid them $95.00 to come out and take a look at the problem. The quote was in the price range of the people that I went with. I would definitely use them in the future if a back up if I needed to, but I don't plan on putting another A/C in my house.

Absolutely horrible company. One of my units wasn't cooling and I had a service contract with them, so I called them in and they sent someone to repair it. They told me that it was an old unit and they couldn't figure it out, but I would probably need a new unit shortly. They fixed it, and by the next day it wasn't working again at all. I had an even worse problem than I'd had. They sent someone back and then they gave us a price for a new unit. They did about $800 worth of work -- on top of the $200-$300 yearly contract I had with them -- with new parts. It still didn't work. I had to keep calling them. They finally sent someone who said that I needed a new unit. It was an absolute nightmare. I had at least five or six service calls from these people and every time somebody different came in and kept giving me different answers. By about the fifth service call, I wasn't sure who to believe, so I called in a different purveyor who works in this development that I live in. He came in, looked at the work that these people had done, and he said that they'd cut a wire, which is why my air conditioning wasn't working. He did about two hours worth of work up there and I haven't had a problem with it since, and that was about four months ago. What made me nervous was that after I joined Angie's List, I looked them up and they had an A1 rating. Afterwards, we called in an attempt to get a refund of our money and they wouldn't do that, and we've obviously never called them back to use out the term of our service contract. In essence, we lost about $1,000 with this company, which is a lot of money, especially in this economy.
