ACME SERVICE

Larry had the two generators ready in 3 days and that includes 3 day labor day weekend. The generators performed flawlessly! I highly recommend anyone with small engine trouble to trust these guys to restore your unit to perfect running order. They are honest, dependable, trustworthy, and have a true concern for the customer. My 86 year old father and I have purchased Toro products from Acme for over 20 years and have never been disappointed with their service.

I dropped my Mower and Weed Wacker off on a Friday, the mechanic said he was running a week behind, I agreed to wait the week because of the reviews I saw on Angie's list. My Mower was having a problem with not starting when hot, I figured if I was bringing in the mower I might as well get the Week Wacker tuned up as well. I received a call saying they could not duplicate the problem and my mower was ready for pick up. When I arrived at the shop and handed Larry (Owner) my two tickets he told me they could not find the problem with my mower and they had no problem starting it when it was hot (to be fair I have used my mower once so far and it did start when it was hot). When he found my Weed Wacker he informed me he did not recommend fixing it because it needed a new carburetor and it was not worth investing the money and I might want to consider buying a new one ( at the time my weed wacker was in pieces). I told him it was running fine when I brought it in and all I wanted was a tune up, he looked at the ticket and said he saw where it was marked service on it but his mechanic was out of town and would have to get back to me because he needed to talk to the mechanic to get to the bottom of the problem. He told me "don't worry, I will make this right". I got a call why I was at work saying I was all set and I told him I would be down after work to pick it up. When I showed up I got an invoice for $68.85 for a new carburetor and fuel lines from the mechanic. I said I want to speak to the Owner Larry so he called him on his cell phone, I told Larry I did not think it was right he was charging me for parts when my weed wacker was working fine when I came in and all I wanted was a tune up (oil change, spark plug and filter), Larry said the invoice stated that I said it had a bad carburetor, I never said that and it was not on the invoice the first time I showed up, in fact Larry even circled the spot where it states "service generally" and drew lines to a question mark when he said he needed to talk to the mechanic. Larry said since he did the work the weed wacker is running great, better than ever, I was so upset while I was at the shop I never even had the mechanic start the weed wacker, I started it when I got home and just like before it started just fine. While I was at the shop I told the mechanic the only reason I came here was because of Angie's List and I was going to be giving Acme a bad review, he walked away to call Larry again to tell him how upset I was and Larry told him to just charge me for what was on the invoice. I truly am disappointed, this is the first time in which I have read good reviews on Angie's list and had such bad service!!! I thought the first time I met Larry he was a man of his word when he told me he was going to "make it right" I truly thought he was being honest. I went to the shop twice to pick up equipment, had to wait an extended period of time while I waited for the mechanic to get off vacation so Larry could talk to him just to have Larry tell his mechanic just have him pay what's on the invoice. I would really think long and hard before bringing any equipment to Acme to get serviced!!! It takes a lot for me to give someone a bad review but I felt so strongly I sat down from 10-11pm tonight to write this review because I wanted to keep the promise I made to Acme that I was going to let the Angie list members know the kind of service they can expect when you walk in their place of business.

They were excellent: Honest, friendly, knowledgeable. Gave us lots of helpful info. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.

My Dad has gone to ACME for decades so they were my first call. Services included repair, tune up and blade sharpening all for the original estimated price. Larry was friendly and even helped me lift the mower into my car. The only inconvenient part was having to take time off work to drop off and pick up the mower. Hours listed on all of the online profiles were inaccurate in stating only M-F 8-5. Come to find out they are OPEN on Saturday mornings. Will definitely bring all of my equipment - mowers, edgers, blowers, and generators - there in the future.

Thanks for wasting my time, obviously you knew someone was going to come to your shop before five! Thanks for nothing.

Went in on the Monday to see if they could even change out the heads on my Craftsman whacker. They checked and although didn't have the parts in, I was told that the truck would be there on Wednesday and that they would order parts to be delivered then. I got a call on Friday, just before Labor Day (yay!) that they were both ready and I went and picked them up. Very reasonable cost of $50 to replace two ends. I will be taking my lawnmowers there soon for service as I own several properties and they always have to be kept up. They've always provided me great service at a very reasonable cost and I don't hesitate to recommend.

I waited for about two weeks to hear anything back so I called them and they said it was ready. I sent a guy over to pick it up and when i got it home it was very hard to start. I then noticed that they did not touch the broken cable, but they had replaced the wrong one and this was the whole reason I took it to them in the first place. I called Larry, the owner, and he was very rude to me and acting like I was bothering him. He told me to bring it back in. It sat over there for about a week and i never heard anything so i called him back. The man on the phone started giving me a hard time and I just told him that they just needed to do the repair I brought it in for, and he said he would have Larry call me back. Larry called me back and was very rude right off the bat and I just simply told him that they did not do the service that I brought the lawnmower in for. He got angry and told me that he wanted my lawnmower out of here and I told him to do the work that I paid for and I would come get it then and he said they would go ahead and fix the cable. I sent my employee over the pick it up about 5 hours later and the cable still had not been touched. I then called Larry back and he told me that he changed his mind about fixing it so I told him that i wanted my money back and he said to me "sue me". Whatever you do don't take any of your equipment to this shop. STAY AWAY. He is very dishonest.

It went very well. The mower would start and run for a little while and quit. It runs fine now. The message is to run the mower at least a couple times a month so the carburetor doesn't gum up. They did a great job and the price was fair.

Always friendly. Dave helped unload/load it from the car, explained what was wrong and showed how to avoid the problem in the future. Even if having trouble reading the gauge, it's every 26 hours, or about every 6 months so I let the lawn boy know the same. He also said the lawn mower should not be tipped over because it has the same effect of flooding the air filter. This is my 6th visit over the years for lawn equipment. They are friendly, reasonable and tell you when you are better off buying new vs repairing. My first visit on the lawn mower was covered under warranty and he did the paperwork in just a few minutes. They can get very busy though, so one week is not uncommon turnaround, though sometimes it is same day.
