Auto Transport - United Freight Of America

I paid more to use this provider due to the number of good reviews on Angie's List. Overall, it worked out- I got my car without major damage. I found the process of scheduling the pick up and drop off to be a little disconcerting. Both for pick up and drop off, the driver said he would call an hour before arriving, yet he never did. The pick up window for the car was a little difficult too, 3 day window with no guarantee on a time window (ex, 8 to noon or something along those lines). When you're moving across the country it's difficult to make sure you can be ready at any moment of the day for three days for a car to be picked up. Alas, it did end up working out. Driver called me to let me know he was out front of my building but his truck was nowhere in sight. Then I learned he would drive car away to the truck. Details that are a little unnerving the first time you meet a provider and have no background on who they are, their history. Would've been nice to have that heads up from United Freight. I texted the driver my drop off address and he estimated it would be dropped off the following Friday or Saturday. Again, a bit difficult to be available for a drop off when scheduling housing appointments in a new city. He said he estimated a noon drop off but noon came and went without any update. I texted multiple times to get a sense of delivery window. He then let me know that he would be arriving in the evening. Car arrived after dark. It was driven to our requested address which was convenient, but made it difficult to inspect damage considering that the sun had set. If I'd known it would arrive after dark I would have requested to receive the car in a lit parking lot. However, I didn't have confidence that the driver would be able to find us if I changed the drop off location at the last minute. Fortunately, there was no obvious damage (at least that we could tell in the dark!) and at that point I wanted the whole process to be complete so I signed the form and we were on our way. I may or may not use this provider again. To be fair, when you need to get your car across the country you just want it to get there, which did end up happening here. I just wish the service provided was a bit more professional and detail oriented.

The car was picked up at my front door and delivered to my destination in Ellijay on time and with no damage. The Driver was courteous and made every effort to get the vehicle as close to destination as possible. The staff at United fright answered the phone quickly and kept me informed of the status during transport. I would use them again if needed.

This was a great experience, start to finish. I researched on Angie's List for a car transport provider and reached out on a Sunday night via a submission form for car transport on Tuesday or Wednesday, Florida to Connecticut. I was contacted Sunday evening and all the arrangements were made for pick up on Wednesday. I was contacted throughout for confirmation on timing and given the drivers contact information. He was supposed to arrive at 2pm, got a call that he was stuck in traffic and he arrived at 2:15. Perfect! The transaction was quick and easy. Despite the blizzard along the east coast, the driver stayed in touch and the car arrived on the date promised. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again for car transport needs.

This is the second car we transport with UFA. Was originally scheduled for Wednesday pickup for delivery on the Saturday. Was able to pick up on Tuesday and deliver on Friday which worked well for me. I needed to bring a car to my daughter quickly after she totaled her car and was grateful for the the quick turnaround time. Eli was very gracious and accommodating. The car arrived with a small nick and scratch on the door (nothing that touch up paint and buffing couldn't fix), but all in all, in good condition. The truck driver provided his cell phone so that I could stay in communication with. I'm very satisfied with UFA and will continue to use their services when needed.

I've never used a car transport service before and was a little leary about the whole process. The company representative walked me through the specifics and I decided that even though it was expensive, it was worth the cost to avoid the risk of driving in inclement weather in mid January. Good decision! As it turned out, I would have encountered an epic snow storm. I priced several companies and they were all in the same price range or higher. It was worth paying extra to guarantee a specific pick up date rather than the standard 3 day window as I needed the use of my vehicle up until my departure. The driver was able to deliver my vehicle within walking distance of my new home which was really convenient. Note: door to door service does not necessarily mean your vehicle will be picked up and delivered directly to your residence. If the residence is in a suburban/urban location more than likely the car carrier is too large to fit into your neighborhood and you will need to make arrangements to meet the driver at a location that will accommodate the size of the carrier.

Making the arrangements was relatively easy. They gave us a window as to when the truck would arrive and on the day of pick up, I contacted the driver who was very friendly and gave us a specific time for his arrival. Unfortunately, he was late by 2 hours but did call us to advise and we worked out the details. My only gripe is with the company that runs the truck which is not United. They were hard to speak to and were generally rude and not helpful. I spoke to United about this who said they would talk to them about my complaint. I don't see this an a United issue as they are the broker and the the trucking company. All in all, very happy with the way the cars were handled and the service provided by United.

Very well. The gentleman "Ely" , with whom I dealt with over the phone was the consummate professional. From beginning to end. He was extremely patient,and accommodating.

Shipper picked up the vehicle on time as promised, and delivered the vehicle on time as promised. Very professional and polite. Great service! I highly recommend United Freight Of America Corp!

The provider was very helpful. He coordinated the selection of a trucking company and was available to answer questions when necessary. But the process is an unusual one. The broker only finds the trucker who then is your main point of contact. You have to hope you get a good trucker if you want the process to go well. United Freight did a excellent job in finding us a great trucker. He was timely, friendly and flexible (but then so were we). We were able to pack the car with bulky items that kept us from having to ship them separately - no items were damaged or missing - we paid a bit extra but it was worth it. We had to meet them at an unplanned location for the pick-up since our street was too busy and narrow for the truck hauler. We planned for a Monday delivery of the car but since we arrived earlier on Sunday and so did the trucker we were able to receive our car a day early. Five stars for that! All in all the cross country transportation worked out smoothly. The car arrived in 5 days

I found United Freight Of America on Angie's list and called for a quote. Guy was very helpful and accommodating and arranged the services exactly as I wanted, which was delivery on a specific date. The car was picked up on schedule and delivered on schedule without a hitch. Guy stayed on top of the whole process and was available for any and all questions. I will definitely use United Freight Of America to ship the car back to Florida when the time comes.

I joined Angies List to find a company that could transport cars. I dealt with Guy. He was very nice. The rates were good and included an Angies List discount. The car was picked up as promised and delivered as promised. I would recommend Auto Transport.

My husband and I were in the middle of restoring our 1968 Corvette when he accepted a new job out of state, leaving me to coordinate the arrangements for shipping the car once the restoration was complete. I have never used a shipping company before and really didn't know to whom to entrust our car or where to start my research. I selected United Freight based on Angie's List reviews and was not disappointed; from start to finish United Freight took the stress out of shipping our "baby" across the continent. The booking representative I worked with, Guy, was great! He provided me a rapid response to my request for quote, explained the process to me in detail and kept me informed as my shipping date drew near. He really listened to my concerns and selected the perfect carrier for our car. The carrier driver, Glenn, called me the night before the scheduled pick up date to provide me with his estimated time of arrival. Although he was coming from out of state, he actually arrived ten minutes earlier than promised. A very approachable and likeable man, he set all of my concerns to rest. He conducted a thorough inspection of my vehicle and noted her condition faithfully prior to loading. He took great care in loading and securing her, allowed me to observe and photograph the process, and answered all of my questions. By the time he pulled away from the house I was very confident that my car was in good hands. My car arrived in Reno in the timeframe promised by Guy (and Glenn). Again, Glenn called the night before to confirm his arrival time and arrived on schedule. He unloaded our car with care and performed a walk around with my husband to confirm that the car was in the same condition as she left Lexington. Another plus - there were no hidden charges! The price quoted included all tolls, taxes, driver meals etc. We will definitely use United Freight again should the need arise.

All went as described by the agent, Guy who assisted me with the entire process. He was very professional and knowledgeable.

Got the name of the transport company from Angie's List. They offered a fair price and very professional service. The driver picked the car up on schedule and dropped it off on schedule as well. I was in contact with the driver and co-driver by cell phone to get updates. Very satisfied with service, will use them again and highly recommend to others.

Amazing!!!! Had never done this before but I shouldn't have worried once I called. Guy from United Freight answered every question,made suggestions and helped me put a plan in place. Everything went beautifully--picked up the car on time and delivered on time. Incredibly professional, communication was terrific, made me feel like I was a VIP! Thank You!

I was very satisfied with their service. I left the key with my neighbor and their came out and picked up the car the day before Thanksgiving. They then transported it to me the day after Thanksgiving at my convenience. This company was very professional and I would recommend them to anyone.

Perfect!! They were able to pick up our car on the exact day we asked for, and deliver it exactly when we wanted it, which was probably a day later than they could have gotten there. They communicated with us well, the driver was terrific and they delivered the car to our door. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

After shopping around on the internet and receiving numerous quotes, I selected Ely and UFoA. They were not the lowest quote, but they were the most responsive and committed to pick up my car in just a few days....no waiting around for the other guys to find a truck and driver traveling the route to the drop off destination, then re-quoting the job. Within a day they sent a local driver to pick up my car and transport it to a truck transfer depot. Five days and 2,200 miles later, my car arrived at the agreed drop-off, 1-2 days ahead of schedule, no hassles, and no damage! Throughout the entire process and journey, there was good communication with Ely and truck dispatcher. Job well done. I would use UFofA again.

tI would NEVER RECOMMEND this provider to anyone unless you have unlimited time to have your car picked up. It started out fine with speaking with Ely Sharp, the initial salesperson. I told him that I was leaving on Monday, November 16th for Sarasota, had ticket etc. He gave me a window of 11/11-11/13th which is Wed, Thurs, and Fri. I called two weeks before to try and confirm the actual guaranteed day but he said he still didn't know. I called the week before with the same question, same answer, didn't know. The week of the pickup which was the week of the 9th, Ely finally confirmed the guaranteed day was Thursday, the 12th. I get a call from the driver on the 11th telling me he will be there between 8am and 12pm. I say fine thank you. Then he called later in the morning and said, his rig was being repaired so now its between 2pm and 3pm and again I say ok no worries. THEN I get another call from the driver at 1:30PM he's not coming today, tells me to LEAVE MY CAR HE'LL PICK IT UP OVER THE WEEKEND!! LEAVE MY CAR, ARE YOU NUTS! I had no family left in NJ to watch the car. I called UF back and now I get this guy, named Guy the supervisor. Rightly so I am very upset. On the agreement it said I had until the 13th to get picked up. So I'm freaking, that's true. I read other reviews and BBB.org and they have done this to other people so I'm so nervous since my closing on my house was the 17th and I had to be out. He does assure me that he guaranteed me a ride and that he had a backup. I ask why not use the backup and take me out of my misery. He says its the last resort. Ok, I say but with great trepidation. Guaranteed day was Thursday, no show on Wednesday and one more day to go, Friday. I told Guy I was going to look for another service that I couldnt deal with ifs for 2 days. I also found out that they were closed on the weekend, so if the driver didn't show I had no one to contact. Nice, huh? Guys aid he closes on Friday at 6pm but he'll stay until 7pm. Ok, ah huh. I tried calling him in the morning Friday if he heard from the driver and the number I was using I got no answer. I got no answer from any of the options on the submenu. Panic time. I finalyly went on the website and got another number and he (Guy) answered. I called the driver he tells me he's picking up the carrier at 10:30am and he'll be there at 12:00pm.. The I get another call from driver, now its 2-3pm....a pattern. I say (well can't repeat what I said) but I called Door to Door Service which was $200 less and they picked me up as an emergency in an 1 1/2 hours. As I walked home at 3:00pm here is Carlos the other driver. I tell him too late. I get another call from Guy who charges me an additionally $250 on top of the deposit of $395.00 for absolutely nothing. I disputed it with the bank and I'm waiting. I will also follow up with BBB but I've been moving in to Sarasota but I will try and get my $250. PS Website and terms and conditions DO NOT STATE ANY EXTRA CHARGES. They are liars, slick crooks and they don't care about the people they transport, they are strictly in it for the money. If you dont believe me, go online and really search (which I didn't do) I went by ANGIES LIST so that was also a big rip off.

Shipping and storage went great.? The storage and final delivery subcontractor was as good as United Freight.? The only hitch was on the pickup.? The original transport had equipment trouble and pickup was delayed to Sept 11 (it was originally schedule for a three day window between 9/8 and 9/10).? I couldn't be there on 9/11.? The large truck for the interstate transport couldn't get to my house so Guy (at United Freight) took care of arranging for a local company to tow the inoperable vehicle to a location the large truck could get to.? I felt completely confident that Guy would take care of things in my absence and he did with flying colors and from across the country (he's based in FL).

Great experience and a very easy and smooth process. Our car was picked up from a relative in NJ and delivered to Nevada. The pick up and delivery time was exactly what was discussed and the price is pretty reasonable. I would use their services again. Thanks UFA!

Everything went fine. There was some confusion about the delivery time. I was hoping that they would coordinate with me on that one. I really don't know about the price because this was the only time that I used that service so I don't have a basis to compare it to. I have no issues with the quality of the service. It went fine. They were very professional.
