+ -1 moreWhen I moved the movers of Smart Move totally busted an Asian chair. I was given this company to come and pick up my chair. He said he was busy and it would be a while. That was April 2021. It’s now Nov 26th, 2021 and no call that my chair is fixed. That is totally unacceptable. I’ve left messages with the movers and the restoration company. My kids feel they ruined or lost my chair. I hope this puts a fire under them and I get it THIS YEAR!

+ -1 moreThis is my second review. I tried to revise my first review but I guess this site does not allow edits. I will tell you Marty's Furniture Restoration did an amazing job restoring a very old dresser that had some unforeseen damage. They took their time to do it right. I did receive a call on the progress on my dresser after my first review. While I was nervous about the challenge of getting a hold of Marty's, They came through and I have a beautifully restored dresser that will last another 100 years. I do wish I could post a picture to show how amazing it came out.

+ -1 moreI tried to contact Marty multiple times with no success. After reaching him on his cell phone, he asked me to call his office. When I called the office, the number was out of order. I called him back and let him know; he asked me to call back later and mentioned that he'd been told about this issue and would get it fixed. I called the office one week later during business hours and reached an answering machine. I left a voicemail with my request and contact information. Two weeks later I received a return phone call. I was on the other line at the time but called back within 15 minutes and again received the answering machine. I left another voicemail. It has been almost one month and I have received no follow up. I would be uncomfortable using this provider due to their lack of communication. I am giving a "C" overall because I don't feel an "F" can be warranted when they didn't perform any services.
Description of Work: The provider completed no services.

Description of Work: Replaced 2 inside hinges on our Thomasville chest, also took our Thomasville dresser drawer to replace the bottom wood rail in which they had to rebuild it to line up properly and replaced 10 hinges on the inside of our kitchen cabinets. |The installer Steven was wonderful and very polite. Marty the owner came to our home to inspect and gave a quote on 4/23/13 he was very professional. The biggest problem is the person who sets up the appointments and answers the phone.June was her name & she made me very nervous because she from the very beginning booked us for an appt. and Marty never showed up so when I called and asked where is he, she was like she never heard from me and then admitted I did sound familiar, she was very poor in returning phone calls and I got Marty involved because Thomasville recommended him for the job. He appeared to be very professional but his wife's detail is very poor! She even had our home address listed incorrectly. I even spelled it for her twice carefully. The job was completed successfully by Steven on 5/15/13 after I was so persistent with June to find out after 3 weeks had pass when |was my job to be completed. Keep in mind when someone has a piece of your expensive furniture like a drawer and you don't get it back, that creates a bigger problem so I was getting nervous because June lack detail.

+ -1 moreI think they are a very nice company and try their hardest to do a good job. Everything was great, except the phone service was not punctual and they did not call back right away after a message was left. If they invested in a better answering service and had a more rapid response to customers I think they would be even more awesome.
Description of Work: They had fixed the seat frame of our lazyboy chair and an antique wooden kitchen chair that a leg had twisted off. They are both working great and think they did a wonderful job.

+ -1 moreTold me exactly what the problem was on the phone. It was simply not level. Leveled the armoire, and everything is operating properly. Very impressed with his customer service. Never attempted to make an unnecessary service visit. Simply told me how to fix it on the phone and at zero cost. How many service providers do something like this these days? Not many. Of course, I would use his services again!
Description of Work: After relocating an armoire, it became askew and the doors and drawers were not closing properly. Called about having someone come out to fix it.

+ -1 moreWe had purchased an extention table from Crate and Barrel but the leaf was slightly larger than the table itself and didn't sit flush with the table top in one corner. Crate and Barrel contracted this company to come out and do the repair. Mr. Wallace was able to repair and refinish the table to nearly perfect condition. I found Mr. Wallace to be not only very knowledgeable about repairing the table and matching the color but he was also very courteous and professional. I am glad to have met him and would hire him on my own to do other wood refinishing and repairs.
