East Hillsborough Lawn Maintenance

I used this company last year for mowing/bushhog service on my 5 acres. I have always been very pleased with them. I called them earlier this year to make sure they were still available this summer. They gave me a choice of days, I picked one, they came out when they said they would and did their usual great job on my acreage. They do very nice work for a competitive price and I am a very satisfied customer.

The business, at least at the time of this writing, consists of a husband, wife and son, all of whom have other full time jobs with the lawn service being an additional business. The husband and son were very prompt in responding to my request for an estimate for the work that was needed. They showed up and looked at the work, but had to made a second visit with the wife in order to determine a cost for their effort. During discussions they stated that the husband and son would be doing the work and that since both had regular full time jobs asked for some flexibility in scheduling and completing the work. That was acceptable to me, thinking that being flexible meant that the work would be done in a resonable timeframe. Over the next six week period the husband and son stopped by twice to work on the task. They spend part of one day cleaning up leaves and part of another day clearing vines from a fence line. This constituted about one-half of the total effort. During this same time the wife called once to indicate that they had picked up some work maintaining lawns for a couple of businesses and that this would delay them completing the work on my property. Another time I was called indicating a further delay due to a daughters college graduation celebration. Time dragged on with little communication regarding when the rest of the work would be completed. On Saturday May 12th they showed up unannounced at 4:30PM to work on the effort. The husband indicated that his trailer would not fit through the gate to get to the area where the rest of the work was to be done; about 100 feet from the gate. My frustration with them showing up unannounced so late in the day and the seeming impass in being able to get any closer to the work area triggered me to end the effort at that point. We settled on payment for the work they had already done and called it quits. The actual work they had accomplished, specifically the leaf, debris and vine removal was fair. No more that that. I had specifically asked that they remove the acorns along with the leaves. While they did remove some during the process, I would estimate that only about 50% were removed.

There are great - they come on different days due to things like rain, etc - but I dont mind as long as the grass doesnt grow too long, and they were good about keeping it short. Towards the end of summer/start of the dry season they would only cut when needed as opposed to every week which was nice as well so I wasn't wasting money on a cut that wasn't needed.

I had another tree limb down (third one in a month) that fell on a fence line, broke a corner post this time, etc. It wasn't that huge a limb, just too big for me to move and my saw wasn't working. I had contacted EHLM a while back, had met and spoken with them previously and decided to try their service. They removed the tree limb and got the fence line up and running, which was a huge help to me since the weight of the limb turned it into a 2-foot fence instead of a 4-foot fence and I could have never repaired it all by myself. They came back to mow, got caught in a heavy rainstorm after just a short time but were kind enough to wait it out so they could finish. They did a great job in spite of the weather and the tall (now wet) grass. Their pricing was more than fair, especially considering the amount of work they did and the adversity they encountered with the rain, the unexpected fence line problem, lost time, etc. I knew I was not going to be available when they were done and I decided to pay them in advance; although this is not how I would normally handle a business transaction, especially the first time, I could just tell there would be no problem. They were very polite, very trustworthy, locked up all the gates perfectly before they left. They are good people and I will contact them again.

They worked very hard and did an excellent job. All plants were top quality. All work was done as promised and they cleaned up after. It's been a year since the work was done and everything still looks great!

They do a great job and are a fair price. They are very professional and ask if there is anything they can improve on. I recommend them and I am considering them for landscaping work.

They did an excellent job. They showed up on time and were very polite and friendly. When completed, they checked in with me to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction. This is a family operated business. The guys that gave me the quote were the ones who actually did the work. I like that. They charged me exactly as quoted. When they finished I also hired them to mow, edge, and trim the yard as a surprise for my husband and it looked great! I have hired them again to do some landscape planting for me this weekend.
