Culligan Water - Tampa

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND We spent thousands of dollars on a Culligan system and service, yet our water is yellow and we were told today that Culligan can’t come out to service and test for two weeks. Absolutely unacceptable.

It was a good service. No complain about about the service and I highly recommend them

BEWARE I have been a customer since 2017 up until, today, February 28, 2020. I have wrote 2 truthful and scathing reviews for Culligan on their corporate website. Hoping to give notice to corporate that as a customer, I was not happy. Both times, I have been redirected to the manager of the Plant City office. The first conversation with this "manager" almost resulted in cessation of service, due to his disrespectful tone and attitude. However, the problem arose from the initial installation of Culligan equipment. Very shoddy workmanship and poor follow through. I had to finish the install of my Culligan system. That should have been the end. However, I chose to write another review expecting a different result. Same "manager" with a slightly different attitude. Brian, the manager passed me off to John, a manager. This only slightly helped the situation. Paying $90 a month and the system was still screwing up. The water would have an intermittent odor and water samples taken had an oily sheen. The other issue is the service personnel and the service to their equipment. The service I was paying $90 for. I was then shuffled off to "TJ" who is pretty narcissistic about being a veteran. I am a veteran, too. He was the service manager who got belligerent when I told him, his service people were not performing their duties. Moral of the story. I have been maintaining their system, for the last 6 months. No issues. I was contacted today, I was talked over and endured my last case of belligerence. Culligan touts having 80+ years of excellent customer service?? I think most positive reviews are employees trying to keep their jobs. The "management" keeps ******* off their customers. I'll take my business and money, elsewhere.

Overall very satisfied! Purchased a deal through Angie's List that slipped through the cracks somehow and when Culligan was made aware, they immediately remedied the situation and came to my home for the service call. The equipment wasn't Culligan brand but the tech was extremely informative and provided me with options and advice to get my system running properly, even though it's not their equipment and they can't perform the work. Educated me on our water quality. Should I need to replace my water softener, Culligan will be top of my consideration.

No one from Culligan ever contacted me. Angie's List agent contacted them on my behalf and still no response. I ended up being refunded for the transaction.

Lee called and set up time for delivery. Arrived promptly and loaded unit with salt. Prepositioned extra bag of salt near softener as requested. Checked house water sample to make sure water was soft then gave me his business card for any future needs. Would contact this business again if needed.

I have refrained from writing a review because I have tried to work with Culligan directly for 2 years. I have had issues with their service since the installation of our water softener roughly 3 years ago. We had issues in the very beginning with the sales person and we're provided with one year of free Platinum service due to this. I have since had numerous occasions where I have had to call Culligan due to not knowing when they were showing up to service our water softener. I've even work with Brian Kelly, director of operations, to resolve the issues to no avail. Their system is supposed to notify customers the night before service day so that people are aware of when to be home to allow the tech into the garage or wherever the softner may be. On several occasions I was not notified and I have received every excuse in the book. I've even gone so far as to request a phone call the morning of the day that the technician will be arriving and also utilize their calendar to enter each service day into my cell phone so I will know when they will be showing up, frankly not something a customer should have to do. The excuses are the same from anyone you speak to and the general consensus is that they are never going to be perfect and they feel their effectiveness rate is right in-line with expectations. This came straight from Brian Kennedys mouth. Unbelievable to me that in this day and age, a Director would make excuses and exude a flippant and frankly patronizing attitude toward ANY customer. A few neighbors in my community are unhappy as well, but they just don't care as much as I do that they're not getting notified. As an executive previously at Ford Motor Company and now at Coca-Cola North America, I find the customer/ service operations under Brian Kennedy to be in need of serious help and Brian needs a reminder that the customer is always right! This post is to advise others that your concerns, and you will have them, will be overlooked and dismissed.

The company does not answer messages either here on Angie's List or direct emails. Would not consider them in the future due to the lack of professionalism.

Angie's list advertised this vender would service water softeners, I have a sears (craftsman) water softener, the service tech stated Culligan does not service craftsman water softeners, the tech left three bags of salt but provided no service, Angie's list should make this vender state in your add that they do not service craftsman products. Since I was involved in false advertising I think my money should be refunded angie

When asked to take it back, the sales lady got furious, unprofessional and said her manager will call back, and within just one day of installation they refuse to take the system back. Even though it clearly states on culligan's website at [*** Link removed ***] that - "If you are dissatisfied with your Culligan product for any reason within 30 days of your purchase, Culligan will remove the product and refund the purchase price." but the manager told that they are dealers of culligan and not their employees (which was another lie, as the sales lady told us that they and all members including installer are employees of culligan) and would not take the product back, even though it's only a day that has passed after buying that product. BEWARE of this company and their lies. I had to pay FIVE !!! times the price of any leading comparable system.

It was okay. The responsive was horrible. I had to call them three or four times to have someone come out.

great salesman, on time, explained it all - was available to answer our questions promptly. Installed outside, and the yard left tidy.

Very professional group. The sales guy and service guy were both really professional. The installer did a great job and was very friendly & explained everything. I have confidence based on my experience that if there are any issues in the future it will be handled. I price shopped prior to purchase & am very happy with this company, even though it was a little higher than others, the customer service seems to be worth it so far.

I called the main number. They came to my door. They refused to even talk to me unless my husband was there like I was an idiot. The gentleman came to the door. My husband and I both work out at the house. He was upstairs in a meeting and the meeting ran a little long. My husband has confidence in me to make decisions. I did before. I paid the money and the gentleman said he would not even talk to me unless my husband was there. My husband was not pleased. The gentleman actually left because my husband was upstairs and he was busy. The price was expensive.

We purchased the best unit with a remote access viewer/controller and the reverse osmosis unit for under the sink. We have been in our home for 2 1/4 years and have had excellent results with the water and Culligan's service. We also purchase annually their premium service where they inspect the unit, deliver the salt as well as fill the salt container. We had our unit put outside (not in the garage) because we never have to worry about being at home when it is service time. They still call and let us know they are coming which is great.

I misread the advertising flyer. I wanted my reverse osmosis unit serviced which he could not do at that price.

UPDATE- A Culligan representative named Brian contacted us and apologized for our dissatisfaction. Culligan has gone above and beyond to make it up to us and keep our business. Though our experience had some bumps in the road, we have been pleased with the products overall and the quality of our water so they deserve high marks for that. Brian was great to work with and he really took care of us. That went a long ways to change our perception and grades of Culligan. Prior to that we had a mixed experience with Culligan. The softening system itself has worked perfectly in terms of quality of water. No complaints there at all and we've been very pleased with our water in the house. It has had two issues of repair in the first year, but they were minor and fixed at no cost to us with our warranty. The salesman, Peter DeTosh, sold us the system and said by signing up we could get 24 months of interest free financing. The card has been stuck at 12 months. It has taken repeated message to Peter. He was slow and unable to respond to change the financing. We're paying it off in 12 months, but he failed to provide what was promised to us. The reverse osmosis (RO) system in the kitchen had one problem. The installer did a poor job and it leaked all over our cabinets under the sink. The repair technician tried to tell my wife she was wrong and it was our sink plumbing, but then was proven to be the RO system. He was rude and didn't apologize. He also didn't fix the problem permanently and another staffer had to come back to fix the RO system leak. Culligan did the right thing and had a cabinet repair worker come out to treat the cabinet. Again, the products themselves have been very good.

We bought the high-end Culligan Water Softener which was over $6,000 four years ago. We have had numerous service calls on it and most recently the tank burst in the middle of the night spewing gold minerals and water all over our double garage, driveway, street and sidewalk. The tank is under warranty. When calling about the problem , Brian the manager, assured us that they would make it right in terms of paying the water bill, fixing the electric outlet shortage, replace or refund $279 for a brand new leaf blower and clean the driveway and garage floor which we had just cleaned in preparation for resurfacing. We took numerous days off work to be at home for service calls. It took them two weeks to fix it because apparently they don't keep parts in their warehouse. They did NOT pay the water bill, or refund/replace the new leaf blower or clean the driveway. We had such a mess on our hands it was ridiculous. When we called regarding Brian's promises to compensate us for our losses he said they were not liable for damage done. He sent out someone to look at the driveway and we were told it did not need cleaning. He said all the marks were from "fertilizer run-off". Since when does fertilizer run-off run 6 feet sideways? Our entire driveway is gold. So, we called and he said he would send out the guy again to look at it. He did NOT offer to clean our driveway; he only offered to have the guy come look at it again. At this point, we were so frustrated with the company we decided to have our driveway cleaned ourselves. Brian can say all he wants that he tried to please the customer but it's not true. They stalled us over a period of 3 months over this fiasco and finally we had had enough of their nonsense. There should be a "lemon law" for Culligan. Hon. M. and Mrs. Skinner

Steve was very extremely professional and courteous. I had booked an inspection/maintenance service call that included 3 bags of free salt. Steve advised that the cost of replacing parts would be near the cost to replace the entire system. So he didn't even charge me the $38.00 deal that I committed to! He didn't charge a penny. I am thoroughly impressed with Culligan.

They showed me how to clean the pipes and said I could call them anytime. They were wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone.

Everything has turned out well with them. They have offered several times about the reverse osmosis system and I have indicated I am not interested in this system. The water is better now. My skin is softer, it is easier to clean my shower and my coffee maker works better.

It’s been fine working with them. We have noticed a big difference in the quality of the water. Spots on glasses and shower doors have disappeared. Their service has been very good overall.
