Everything in the beginning, like the person that came out and gave us our estimate and helped get everything started and coordinated was great! For the most part was good, the moving crew was friendly, they were quick, but they weren?t very careful and there were some items/furniture that was dropped down the stairs and broken. The other issue, the day they loaded, the driver & I have set on what day he was going to be in South Carolina and then what time. That day time just kept passing and I had not heard from anybody and nobody had showed up. So, I called the company, turns out the truck had broken down the day before still in the state of Florida and nobody bothered to tell us. But, the truck was broken down and they had no way of getting our stuff and it might be days and days before it got out here. A truck breaking down, things happen, not a problem! My issue is the way they handled it and the lack of communication. Price was comparable to other companies. During the different stages the communication was great! Like in the beginning, the coordinator and everything, the representatives I got with, I would say the communication was an ?A?. Any questions I had were answered right away. But, during the move, and the issues with the truck, I would say probably a ?D?, I had to call and call, when nobody was returning my calls. They also damaged and punched a hole in the wall at the place we left in Tampa, which we had to pay for. The claims process was very smooth. It was stressful, but it all turned out well in the end!
Description of Work: They packed/loaded everything from our house in Tampa and moved to Columbia, South Carolina and unloaded it.

They were very efficient in packing and loading everything. Lloyd was great in providing materials, they gave my wife and I all of the boxes we needed. Showed up on time, very efficient. When they got here today there were 3 men and they unloaded everything in less than 4 hours. The men were great to work with and very nice.
Description of Work: They picked my things up from Florida and brought them to Tennessee.

They were simply terrible. Late for every appointed arrival time. Stole items from us. No accurate inventory done at unpacking. Missing several large area rugs - among other items too numerous to mention. Collectible Lands' End bears stolen from their boxes. Our upholstered furniture was not protected during storage and dirtied beyond ability to clean/repair. A large glass shelf for our china cabinet was broken. Lamp shades destroyed. Yamaha electronic piano broken from its stand. Books and other packed items thrown into boxes. Framed pictures had glass broken/frames damaged. Did not put together ANY furniture/beds at time of unpacking because they were so late and pressed for time. We worked harder unpacking the truck than they did. The only bed they partially assembled - was assembled incorrectly. They were bullies - ordering us to provide lunch and meals - when we had voluntarily provided breakfast, drinks and snacks and simply had not gone to get luncheon items because our car was blocked in by the van. We cannot tell you in strong enough language NOT to use this company. They are not reputable and have no care for the customer whatsoever. They have not made any financial accommodation for either the level of service we received or for the damage/missing items - even though we have documentation of the thefts/destruction. By far the worst moving experience we have ever had. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! We will file complaints with the Interstate Commerce Commission and the State Attorney General. Please do not use this moving company!!!!
Description of Work: We used Coleman American movers Birmingham, Alabama (Cullman,AL) location to pack, store, and move our furniture and household goods.

The salesman was courteous, and my mom chose not to get further estimates- I felt his estimate was on the high end. He did provide some boxes which were helpful. That was the end of the good part. The Friday before the move, the driver was to call and confirm his arrival for Monday morning which was to be between 8-10am. No call ever came Friday or even the day of the move. I had to call 3 times before we found out he would not arrive until noon. At 10am a man showed up to wrap fragile items. We hadn't been informed he was even coming! Then at noon, the moving men arrived. 3 Men showed up, in shorts, tshirts and the head guy was in a tank top and had his wife and 3 kids with him. Very unprofessional. The initial intake was slow and confusing. They elaborately numbered items, which at the time made sense, but on delivery were of no consequence! I would walk in a room and find them looking at their cell phones. They wrapped my mothers furniture in dirty blankets and only shrink wrapped one piece of furniture! It was disgusting! The amount of furniture and boxes were about the size of a 2 bedroom apt. It took them 6 hours! On the other end of the move, they changed the date they would arrive 3 times. The 2 extra men who arrived to help the driver unload were kind, courteous and quick. The driver was again slow and confused. I knew things were missing, so they had to take apart the other cargo to find all our stuff! My husband and I had just moved into a new home in November and had used 2 Men and a Truck, so we had something to compare it to. We had moved from a 6 bedroom colonial and the movers took 3 hours to pack and 2 1/2 to unpack! No, we would NOT recommend this moving company!
Description of Work: Moved my mother from Oldsmar, FL to New Market, MD.
