Closets by design

This was my second project with them. As before, I was extremely pleased with the salesperson/designer, Jim. He was extremely attentive to my needs and came up with a great design. He was on time, he listened to what I needed and designed the perfect office and closet system. The installers were also on time and did a very good job.

Beth did a wonderful job with the design and was very easy to work with. Excellent communication and follow-up. The installers had the entire job completed in one day and did excellent work.

I called them on a Tuesday and they came the following day. The designer/salesperson was extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. He took a look, listened to my requests and made some very helpful suggestions. He even drew the plans right then and there, since I had the time. After we went over the design and price, I agreed to the work. We scheduled the installation at my convenience and it was a breeze. The installers came in on time, set up shop and voila, 2 1/2 hours later, I have a beautiful closet! We did all the prep work and it was a great experience.

The salesperon, Lorraine, came out to my house in Valrico from Pinellas county. I was very impressed by that! She worked with me to design a functional office space. She even met my husband and I at their corporate office in St. Pete on a Friday night so we could see the workmanship and the colors in person. We signed in August and the office was installed in Sept. It took the guys two days to install. There were a few corrections that needed to be made (some caulking shrank, some of the nail holes weren't filled in, a few rough/messed up edges). The repair man was out within the week. I am very impressed with their customer service. I gave the price a B because it is very expensive (to me) but worth it for nice look in a space that would not fit regular retail furnture very well. There would have been alot of wasted space.

The project went very well. Triin, the designer, was very friendly and easy to work with. I got designs and estimates from two companies. I chose Closets by Design because they had consistently good reports on Angie's List, especially when it came to installation. I've gone the cheap route on custom closets before, and there is a noticeable difference in quality. This time around I was shopping for design and quality and I found them. I'm really pleased with the results, now that I've had a year to live with them. We did end up ordering extra shelves for one of the closets. Turns out we needed more shelves and less hanging space. One word of advice to people getting their closets done: Take down your existing closet hardware ahead of time and take care of the patching, spackling, and painting before the new stuff comes in. The installation crew does not patch and paint, and it's tricky to do it after the fact (speaking from experience!). Only two small negatives regarding our experience with Closets by Design. The first was an error. For our home office, we had paid to upgrade the file drawers so that the interior would be wood-colored and not white. However, the drawer boxes arrived in white, and I didn't notice the error until after installation. They refunded the upgrade charge, but of course I would have preferred that they got it right. The second negative was the attitude of the second installation crew. When they realized they would have a crown-moulding issue, they began to bad-mouth the designer in front of me. Not only was this unprofessional, but it made them look silly (hadn't they ever seen this situation before?) and bothered me because I really liked the designer. I ended up doing a little online research and making a Lowe's run to solve the problem. FYI - If you have shelves that go to the ceiling, and the crown moulding on the shelves will not match up with the crown moulding on your walls, you can use these nifty little things called "corner blocks" to transition between the two. Very handy.

There were a few tiems when there were some differences, but they ended up meeting our expectations and they did an excellent job. I would recomemnd them and use them again.

Lorraine Rose with Closets By Design came to my home and measured and drew up a plan to organize both of our master closets. I would have never imagined that we could have so much more room in our closets as they aren't all that big! We wish we'd done this years ago.

Arrived on time for estimate and as planned for the actual installation. Work was done well and cleaned-up after installation.

Good. Prompt, professional installers. I had to call them back for correcting one error the installers made (didn't follow the design), and one due to a design flaw. They made both corrections the next day.

Tanja the designer was very professional, listened to our needs and devised closet organization for 3 closets in our home. She was very attentive and informative, which helped us in our final decision. she was timely and followed up frequently. Workers did an excellent job and were done in one day.

The woman was very nice. When she gave me the price for this job, it was too high. Estimated cost was $2,000.

Tania Cisliek met with us to come up with a design for this custom library using a picture we had from a model home. She came up with a design more elaborate than even the picture we showed her. They ordered the materials and less than 1 month they arrived. The wood shelves looked lighter than the sample we were shown. So we spoke with the owner and discussed our options. We decided to continue with installation rather than reorder a different color wood or try to stain darker the shelves that had been ordered. It was installed in 4 days and looks much darker installed than just as individual pieces. All the people we worked with went the extra mile to be sure things were to our satisfaction. The owner even came out a couple times to measure around the windows and help with the window molding installation to be sure that it all went smoothly. We are very happy with the job they performed, and the custom bookcase/library that they designed and installed.

The woman who came out to do the estimate & drawings was knowledgeable, professional, talented and efficient. She was a pleasure to talk to. The work was scheduled promptly. The 2 workman arrived on time, and they called first, and finished all the work in 1/2 day. They cleaned up after themselves too. Excellent & efficient.

Appointment was made within a few days. Designer (Jim) was very personable and made me feel very comfortable working with the company. Delivery exactly as promised. Follow up call from Jim the next day to insure all was well. A very professional company to deal with. Excellent staff.

Laura, our sales person was prompt, courteous, & very helpful in designing the closets. She returned with plans that we reviewed and approved. The installers arrived as scheduled and completed a flawless job as promised. Laura has followed up with calls to assure our satisfaction.

The plan design done by Lori took less than an hour and an agreement was reached during that time. We set an appointment for installation that agreed with my schedule. Two days prior to installation, I was contacted by the company as a reminder and verification that the timing was still appropriate. The installers showed up on time and completed the closet installation within 45 minutes. The crew collected the balance of the cost after obtaining my approval of their work and clean-up, and thanked me for the business. I am the brother of Richard who is a member of Angie's List and also had a closet done the same day and both were done very professionally.

Custom closets were designed and installed. Everything went great.

Triin was the designer that we worked with. She was so very friendly and helpful since I only knew what I was hoping to fit in my closets and not sure as to how I would accomplish that. She designed exactly what I wanted; giving me dream closets. The wait for the closets to be installed was a bit longer than I would have liked, but the installers arrived within the time frame given and were very courteous, leaving things very clean afterwards.

This was a first-rate experience from start to finish. Closets by Design sent our their designer, Shalini, who was very talented in designing just the perfect storage space for our needs. She was pleasant to work with, and the installers, Eric and Ivan, did a fabulous job also. We couldn't be more pleased! We will definitely be calling this company again for more organizational needs.

The representative took our needs into account and came up with a great design that will work for many years. The sketches left with us were very clear, much better than the ones we got from a competitor. The representative, design, and cost were all much better than what we saw from the competitor. The installation was done quickly with no mess left behind, and the representative even stopped by during installation to see how things were going.

Excellent customer service---very professional, helpful, and timely in the installation of the closets. I think they are a bit pricey, however, but I would use them again.

Jodi was excellent in helping me decide on the total look of the closet. Paul and his partner showed up on time and did an excellent job. They were courteous and cleaned up afterwards. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. They were great!!!

They did a wonderful job and I was very happy. There were a couple of things proposed that didn't work, but they fixed that quickly and to my satisfaction. They were quite accommodating and very neat. They came in a timely fashion and were neat and clean.

I MET THE CLOSETS BY DESIGN ESTIMATOR AT THE HOUSE. SHE WAS ON TIME, BUT ABRUPT AND UNPERSONABLE. HER ESTIMATE WAS HIGH, BUT I'D SEEN THEIR WORKMANSHIP AND I COULD HAVE JUSTIFIED THE PRICE IF HER DEMEANOR HAD BEEN MORE AGREEABLE. IT TOOK ME AT LEAST AN HOUR TO SHAKE OFF HER BAD VIBES. THE EXPERIENCE TURNED ME OFF TO THE COMPANY.
