I used Them a month ago. They're friendly but they're really hard to get a hold of. It took them a while they called back it very inconvenient hours. They didn't go over with the picture I emailed them to and they just sent me back the quotes and the pictures I sent them.

After Member was asked to please email your specifics, (which is the Company's normal procedure) Member emailed pictures and job details for project on March 15. The scope of work was self explanatory, and a preliminary estimate was created on March 20, estimate was then double checked by our Service Manager for accuracy and emailed to Member on March 21., This was less than a calendar week from having received the job details, which is within what is reasonable, unless other specified prior. Member was asked to respond with any questions comments or concerns on the budget estimate, yet did not take the time to even acknowledge receiving the estimate, or giving any additional input. We do understand that we are not the best fit for all Members, and hopefully your project needs were taken care of and ended up as a success. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, sorry we were not able to meet your needs. Jodi M Office Manager

This 70's home is a work in progress that Omega construction has made into a fun adventure, and magical transformation even while occupying the home. Drew also has a sharp eye and great suggestions for simple items that can make a big difference on the eye and small impact on the wallet. I would totally recommend Omega construction and his crew for future work. They have excellent industry recommendations and are extremely neat and professional.
Description of Work: Drew Dennis with Omega construction and design is extremely knowledgeable takes a lot of pride in his company and his work. We initially called to do a quick pop corn scrape, interior paint, and new floors within a very short time frame due to a quick closing and he was on it. I was so impressed with the level of professionalism and efficiency in these jobs, that we decided to continue with further renovations after moving in right away which include a total bathroom remodel, interior doors including new jams, trim, and molding throughout, new windows, exterior doors, and architectural plans for turning the settling back porch into a beautiful sun room and addition to the home's living space as well as enclosing the garage for a bonus room and adding new detached garage addition.

Drew Dennis from Omega Construction and Design provided a thorough inspection and estimate on repairs to my 85 year old house in the East HIll area in Pensacola, Fl. He picked up structural damage that was overlooked by the inspection I had when I bought the house six years ago and during the process of making the structural repairs discovered damage that was covered up by the previous contractor. I had a very tight time frame to make repairs in time for the closing of the sale. I was given an accurate estimate and the work was completed as promised with his crew working all day Saturday in order to make the deadlines for getting inspections completed prior to the closing. The amount of repairs to the sub flooring was more extensive than anticipated as the previous contractor had concealed damage under the bathroom and yet his crew was able to complete the sub flooring repairs in 6 days as promised. The Omega crew was phenomenal with an exceptional work ethic, professionalism beyond my expectations, cleanliness of the work site area and the quality of work was stellar. The crew was trustworthy as I could not be home and felt comfortable enough to give them key access. Drew Dennis' foreman, Brandon, discovered active termites in the garage wall and the repairs to the garage attic required lifting large beams through the soffit to repair the structure since they could not fit through the attic staircase, replacing studs in the walls, repairing drywall and painting the interior and exterior. They completed the repairs to the garage including termite treatment and inspection in two days. In addition, Omega re-piped all of the PEX plumbing with CPVC and PVC water pipe to meet the code to obtain homeowner's insurance. This required drywall patching and interior painting. The results were exceptional and I could not even tell any work had been done through the house and the garage. Omega also had to replace an interior gas line in the wall from the gas meter to stove that was not within code. The entire subfloor had insulation that was removed for inspection and replaced when the repairs were complete. I was able to get a clear Structural Letter of Repair from Omega that satisfied both the mortgage and homeowner insurance companies. I cannot say enough good things about Drew Dennis and Omega Construction and Design. It was a highly stressful time since I had structural repairs I was not aware of and was trying to make the deadline. Drew Dennis and his crew were phenomenal in working to get the job done on time so I could sell my house. I would recommend Omega highly and as a result of getting to observe the job they did, I will be using Omega when I decide to build a new home in the future.
Description of Work: -Repaired foundation sub-flooring in house that was 85 years old which had structural beam damage found on inspection from wood rot and past WDO damage. -Discovered termites in garage wall with resulting damage to wall and attic necessitating replacement of wood beam studs, sheetrock in walls and attic which also involved having to access through the soffit to replace large wood studs in attic that would not fit through ceiling attic drop down staircase. Sheetrock was replaced and painted as well as soffits. -Removed and replaced entire subfloor insulation under house to inspect and make repairs which resulted in discovering additional damage that had been concealed from the previous contractor. -Replaced all PEX plumbing in entire house with CPVC and PVC water pipe in order to meet standards to obtain buyer's home owner insurance. Required patching and painting of drywall. -Replaced interior gas line in wall from gas meter to stove that was not within code. -Repaired all items on WDO inspection resulting in a Structural Letter of Repair

No problems, the house was vacant at the time and listed for sale. The termite clearance showed a deteriorated floor joist with termite damage. I contacted Omega, got a bid, presented them with the certificate offered on Angie's List and promptly received a 10% discount. The work was completed in a timely and workman like manner. I will use them again.

My experience with Omega Construction and Design Inc. has been fair. They failed to mention that the painting estimate did not include trim work, so we still don't have trim work. They missed some areas where the wallpaper wasn't removed. The granite had to be re-done twice. The pattern of the backsplash clashed with the wall. I think they should have told me. I would not recommend them and I wouldn't use them because I think they could have done a better job. As a contractor, he should have pointed some keys things out to us.
Description of Work: They were my contractor who organized the installation of granite countertops and the removal of wallpaper, then painting and did a backsplash.

Response from Omega Construction & Design Inc
The Author of this review was a very nice and reasonable customer. Owner provided prompt reply communication, and was easy to talk with. The Author did require a substantial amount of additional explaining/conversations about the small scope of work in the kitchen than the average consumer, as it was apparent that they had never remodeled before and had a very limited understanding or knowledge of the process- including what they actually wanted. Things were explained in depth, several times- as well as priced out into different options several times as their personal home would one day be a rental. Our estimator gave a less than normal price point on the remodel items, and Drew (owner) gave the Author the ability to use his vendors for countertops and flooring at his wholesale prices including giving an 8% discount to the project totals as the Author was a young military family. We always try to show appreciation to our servicemen and woman, and Angie's List customers by offering price assistant. Guilty as charged in regards to the granite countertops. However, they were only 're-done' twice (one piece out of the entire kitchen) in an effort to make sure the Author was perfectly satisfied. The only real 'issue' was that Author needed to get corbels for one of the large bar pieces, something they were instructed to do by the local granite company we utilize. To quote the Author directly: " We had a successful trip to Emerald Coast Granite and tile today. What a wonderful group! We had no clue what we wanted walking in there so we probably weren't their easiest customer." During the template process there was apparently a miscommunication on the corbels between Author and Granite Co, . All of the concerns were addressed, and with immediate action, no additional costs, and an apologetic attitude. On the painting, it was clearly discussed from the initial consult that the estimate she requested was for walls only. The written estimate/contract the Author approved says clearly: " PAINT__DRYWALL remove existing wallpaper @ kitchen area. skim to level 3 finish, apply medium orange peel texture. prep, prime, and paint walls- 2 coats. *sherwin williams products. " There was never any conversation about painting (or not painting) all of the trim/millwork, other than at the initial consult the Author clearly expressed she was just interested in having the walls addressed. She even provided us with the paint information, and it only stated a wall paint, "Prescott Green" by Benjamin Moore, in a semi-gloss sheen. Being the walls would have texture applied to match the other surrounding non-papered walls of the home, a semi-gloss would have been a poor choice for the sheen- the Owner of OMEGA advised the Author of the pros and cons of the different paint sheen and how a semi-gloss on the textured walls (especially in an area with large amounts of natural/artificial lighting) would be unattractive selection and made suggestions for a better choice as the Author simply did not know much about paint. To quote the Author directly after being informed: "I don't want imperfections shown. I have no idea what you mean by eggshell but I trust your opinion. I just need to be able to wipe the wall when my toddler throws her food at it. We are in that phase, and I want my new, beautiful walls to survive it. I may not, but the walls need too!! :-) if eggshell will serve that purpose, let's do it." There was also never any verbal or written input to anyone at OMEGA about any undesirable areas with the painting that needed touch-up, so not sure what wallpapered areas Author could be referring to. This information is being included in our Review Response to illustrate that the Author was lacking an overall understanding on certain components of the scope she requested, and that OMEGA tried to take care of Author as an OMEGA customer by: a) giving a good price b) giving the Author advice and input about the products she specified c) addressing any installation issues or areas the Author did not like promptly and effectively. We would re-do any area 15 times, if thats what it took for one of our customers to be 110% satisfied. We strive for our vendors and subs to do the things properly the first time, so we were extremely apologetic that things were not done to the Author's satisfaction the first attempt. We certainly understand every customer or potential customer that contacts OMEGA might not be a consumer who is experienced in remodeling or home products/methods, and we appreciate and enjoy the opportunity to help by offering honest and knowledgable guidance throughout the process- from preliminary to start to finish to after completion and each step in between. This was certainly done with the Author of this review, so it is disheartening to read such a negative review. We do however appreciate both the Author's business, and feedback. Drew (owner) makes it our policy to strive for continuous improvement, and that our customers are always right. Thanks for taking the time to review our Review Response. - Jodi M. It was very disappointing that I had to call him to send me an estimate. I was ready for the work to be completed. If he had communicated he was backed up on a deadline to finish another job (Fresh Market), Omega would have still gotten the job. The little job that I needed done would have been a personal resume with him for larger jobs at my location.
Description of Work: He seemed like a very nice guy. I liked his attitude and his confidence that I would be calling him back, when he came to see what I needed. However… I didn't hear from him again. He asked me to email him right away with my email address to send me an estimate, which I did. It took him several days to get me an estimate.. I had to call and leave a message to get it. When I finally received the estimate, there was no explanation as to why it took so long which personally would have been none of my business but some type of apology would have been nice. During the time I needed their services, I saw Omega's name in front of Fresh Market as the construction crew before it opened in Pensacola FL. Fresh Market is a big name of course, but the little that I know about construction, compared to some things, it doesn't take a whole lot of skill to put together a ceiling, properly finish some walls and lay down a floor. Anything electrical is always a separate crew. All I needed was a door moved to a different location and close and finish the spot where it was. I guess my job was TOO SMALL for him to bother since they were doing a large job at the time. I would have used them had he called me back in a timely manner.

Although our Company stance is the customer is always right, this review is regrettably misleading and inaccurate. The Author's initial call and information was taken. The Author's date/time request was accommodated, and appointment was made. The owner of Omega showed up for appointment, a few minutes early, and had an initial consult that was noted as pleasant/comfortable. The estimate was not specified or requested to be delivered at a certain timeframe or that the project was time sensitive, otherwise some form of immediate pricing could have been considered. The estimate was delivered in a timely manner based off of our company's standard (unless requested specifically), which is less than one calendar week. This is not based off of the size, scale, ease, or monetary value of the project, so the Author's assumption is entirely incorrect. Omega Construction is well known for establishing trust and developing relationships with our customers based off of execution, honesty, and 5 star quality. We do not weigh the value of our projects or our customers (both potential and repeat), on the job being 'small' or large. We are the absolute best remodeling/construction company in the area because of our extreme devotion and passion for meeting our customers' specific needs and expectations. We care about our customers, and we do not treat them as one time shoe shines or just another job/check. We encourage the Members reviewing this to also read our other numerous but consistent reviews on Angie's List. Here is a quick reference to illustrate timelines of the Author's embellished negative review: Author called Omega office initially on 11/12/2012, call was taken immediately. Author requested 11/13/2012 1pm appointment, call was returned after reviewing schedule to confirm. Owner of Omega arrived to appointment a few minutes early, on 11/13/2012 Author emailed additional input and email address 1 hour after appointment on 11/13/2012 Owner of Omega returned Author's email, acknowledging reception at 9:30pm on 11/13/2012 Owner or office staff of Omega are not aware of any interim calls or emails from Author as depicted Owner of Omega completed and emailed the estimate for project to Author @ 10:30am on 11/18/2012 Author did not give any feedback post estimate delivery Author left an all 'F' negative review in numerous categories on Angie's List on 4/15/2013 Thank you for taking the time to read not only the review, but the review response. Overall, the process went very well. We had a few hiccups along the way, but I expect these are probably normal type situations in trying to coordinate sub-contractors to complete the work. I feel I definately got my money's worth and the quality is 100%. Would hire them again if needed.

I called Drew Dennis at Omega Construction after my house flooded due to storms in June of 2012. The team at Omega stuck with me while my insurance company and mortgage company took months to send the first installment check. Repairs began on my house in December of 2012. Everyone at Omega was professional and helpful. Everything moved along smoothly. They have a wonderful attention to detail; my house looks better now than before the flood. If I ever have another home construction project I will use Omega again.

The original contractor who I hired for my renovations turned out to be unprofessional and incompetent. I was forced to fire him and in the process learn the value of having a contractor licensed by the state of Florida. Thankfully, someone recommended Omega Construction and Design. All of the Omega workers proved to be totally professional. They took extra care in protecting my personal belongings, art work and my home. They not only worked around my hectic work schedule but they were considerate of my family, my pets and my neighbors. Communication was outstanding. Work was meticulous and completed in a timely fashion. Considering that I was living in an active construction site, the workmen left everything exceptionally clean at the end of every day.
Description of Work: I replaced my mahogany front door and glass panels. It is by far the best looking door in the neighborhood and it now enhances the house. An amazing travertine floor was installed in a bedroom. My outdated master bathroom and guest bathroom were both completely remodeled.

Our entire experience with Omega and Drew Dennis has been outstanding!! He was introduced to us by a local realtor Paula Wright of Grand Realty in Pace, Fl. We have dealt with several contractors over the years and were very skeptical because of past experiences. We were put at ease almost immediately with Drew's timely responsiveness to our inquiries. Although we continued to be cautious because in our experience once a contractor gets the job they almost disappear. This was not the case with Drew, he always communicated very promptly and managed this job very professionally. Actually his management and handling of all issues that arose gave us such confidence in him that we would absolutley use Drew again and recommend him to anyone looking for a general contractor. I cannot express enough how Drew's management made this the most stress-free home upgrade/remodel we have ever experienced. The property is a rental property, so we had concerns related to a tenant as well. Drew understood these issues and he coordinated with the Tenant on everything - work schedule, impact upon them, etc. The Tenant was very happy with the way the job progressed through to completion; we never had a complaint!! Finally, Drew is very reliable and stood by his contract. The job was completed professionally and to contract - scope of work and price.
Description of Work: We required a total 2 story house rewire from aluminum to copper. This was needed due to insurance carrier requirements. After the rewire the drywall needed to be patched and painted. Additionally we needed drywall repair, texturing and repainting on the utility room ceiling.

With a deadline, no money, and no other place to live, we called a lawyer, and called Drew Dennis. He was referred to us, we had never met him. Drew listened to our sob story with compassion. He worked with us in every way, sending us one of his best carpenters. He came out to check on things intermittently and handled everything professionally. He offered encouragement and a light at the end of the tunnel. He even sent texts to check in on us, not just the progress on the remodel and repairs, but to ask how WE were doing. He worked with us on a payment plan, and I am still working on my debt to him. Even after I pay him off financially, I feel like we will always "owe him one." I highly recommend his company, and if I ever need anything like that again, he will absolutely be the first person I call.
Description of Work: We had the typical fist time buyer horror story. We were uneducated on the process, and on top of that basic fact, tragedy struck in our personal lives during the buying process. Distracted and out of town, we relied on our agent to protect us and "handle everything" and our 203K loan inspector to review all of the inspection reports. We returned back to Pensacola to close and shortly there after, once we began remodling, we found that the home was riddled with termites and they were still alive!!! It turned out that everyone that we had relied on had dropped the ball, and we were too stricken with grief to follow up on the reports ourselves. The termite damage was so extensive, that the entire back addition, kitchen and bath floor joist, sub floor and south wall of the home had to be replaced. We had borrowed money with our 203K loan to target disclosed repairs--but this damage was undisclosed to us. No one bothered to mention it. We had to pay for the repairs out of pocket.

Greg came early in the morning and got right to it. He taped everything and started the kitchen. It looks great!! Greg came back the next day and taped and moved furniture and covered everything with plastic. He had to tape the chair rail trim and the doors and the beautiful ceiling with no popcorn, and the wood fireplace mantle. Both my husband and I left and were gone for most of the day. Greg got it all done, and had the furniture put back and everything cleaned up by the time I got home. It is fantastic!! I love it!! I have new drapes and curtains, all my doodads and pictures are put up and I am enjoying it so much. After the holidays I am having him come back and do the hallway and master bedroom. Greg is AWESOME!!!

Mike came out in the morning. He ended up taking the frame off, and realigning it. It took awhile, but he kept at it. He tightened up the door knob and had to move the deadbolt hole and the door knob hole. There is enough room for a little more shifting...and it works perfectly!!! Thanks Mike!!

We have two crews working on the house now. One team has removed all outside siding and hurricane shutters, have added plywood downstairs due to Hardie requirements for nailing configuration, wrapped house in new Tyvek, and are now installing the Hardie board and trim. This team is extremely competent, friendly, and courteous; and we are very impressed with the workmanship. I do feel really sorry for the interior team. Removing our wallpaper was no fun, and we had tile between the kitchen countertops and cabinets that had to be removed. Greg and his cohort started this Tuesday, and they have done an amazing job this week. I am impressed at how fantastic the wall, window area, and bathroom repairs look; and there are many. The crews clean up the area so my husband can continue to function in our home while the work is being done. I work out of town and email Drew daily to supply him with information or ask questions. He is very prompt, courteous, and helpful with his responses. I will keep you updated as we continue on our adventure.
Description of Work: We started our project on 11/28/2012. So far, our experience is very positive. I was very nervous about having our home remodeled because we have had 2 homes built, and those experiences were not positive. We live on Pensacola Beach, and our home is 19 years old. We have had renters in our home for the past 6 years, and the house was in very bad shape. We found Drew Dennis on Angie's List and set up our initial appointment. Drew was prompt and very courteous and had ideas and recommendations to share. He took pictures of what we wanted done then quickly gave us an estimate. It was under our budget, so we had Drew come back out to add some additional items. We picked and chose and finally decided on what we wanted and could afford to have done. We are replacing all outside cedar lap siding with Hardie board and having it painted; replacing 2 rusting exterior doors; replacing all interior electrical outlets and switches and upgrading; replacing all door knobs and hinges; having all interior walls repaired, wallpaper removed in 3 rooms, and painted; changing out tile kitchen countertops with granite; replacing kitchen sink and severely leaking faucet; having new stove and dishwasher installed; bathroom mirrors and light fixtures replaced. The estimate we received from Drew was for all labor and some of the materials, such as Hardie board, doors, granite, and paint. We are purchasing items such as mirrors, light fixtures, door levers, locks and hinges. Everyone Drew has sent us to pick out colors, doors, etc. have spoken very highly of him and all the individuals who work with/for him.

I was very pleased with the work. They were friendly, had everything with them that they needed, the work looked well done. And they cleaned up very well upon leaving.
Description of Work: They repaired a hole into the attic area from the outside that had occurred due to rotted wood; they reinforced the porch overhang, etc. Also fixed some other rotted wood around a window and sill.

At the beginning of the project, we obtained three different quotes from three different contractors. Drew Dennis, owner of Omega, turned up to quote. From the get-go, we knew we had a great contractor when Drew turned up not only on time, but with i-pad in hand ready to make detailed notes of what it was we were trying to accomplish. The quote we received was detailed and professional, leaving nothing to misinterpretation later. Although not the cheapest, we decided to with Omega as they certainly inspired the most confidence in us. We paid half of the estimate price up-front and work commenced the following week. Omega has a great superintendent, Mike, who oversaw the project on-site most days. It is evident he has many years experience and knows construction. He was immediately responsive to any concerns we had and ensured our questions were answered, or corrections made, pronto. The work-site was left in a neat and clean condition at the end of each work day. Drew kept in contact with us via e-mail every stop of the way. The project was completed this week (the first week of December 2012) and looks absolutely amazing! We cannot say enough to truly express what a top-notch company Omega Construction is. We most certainly would use them again for any other remodeling or construction projects we contemplate in the future. If you contract with Omega, you won't be sorry!
Description of Work: We had Omega perform a house remodeling project, which comprised: moving a supporting wall several feet further out to increase the interior square footage of the house, installing a sliding glass patio door, pouring a new 12' x 12' patio area, converting part of the garage into a laundry room that is accessible from inside the house, and installation of all the plumbing and electrical work associated with it.

Greg came very early, and it was a good thing because he came all by himself. No helpers. He moved all the furniture and pictures he needed to, and then started putting drop cloths down. Then he started taping plastic on the walls. He had to spray water on the ceiling, and then scrape off the popcorn. We left for the day, but when we got back, the plastic was gone, the drop cloths were gone, and we had a clean house. The next day, he filled the holes. That had to dry, so the next day, he textured the ceiling. The last step was painting. Since that was just part of the job, he did the same thing on the kitchen. It all went very well, and I plan to have Greg come back to do the walls. We are totally happy with the job Greg did!!
Description of Work: I hated the popcorn on my ceilings. It had to come off. Greg scraped them off, patched any holes, textured, and then painted them. Greg had to put plastic everywhere to protect the carpets and some furniture. It was a lot of work!!

For the past 5 years, I?ve lived in the East Hill area in a charming, but modest 2 bedroom Bungalow style home. Like most homes built in the early 1900?s, there are many challenges. With virtually no closets and only one bathroom I was quickly running out of space and patience. The urge and desire to add-on had been a dream of mine ever since the day I moved in. Deciding to move forward, I hired Residential Designer, Doug Whitfield for his assistance in putting my ideas to paper for a Master Suite addition... and the excitement began to build. This was unfortunately short-lived, after receiving quotes from a few well known builders in the area that far exceeded my budget. Disappointed, I simply tucked the plans away. In Oct 2011, my home was eloquently displayed as the cover feature in a special Home & Garden issue of the Pensacola Magazine. Ironically, this same issue featured a quarterly article called ?Ask The Expert? written by Drew Dennis, Contractor/Owner of Omega Construction & Design. I immediately liked his style, honesty and up-to date knowledge of his business. I contacted Drew and immediately felt a connection. After hours of explaining the process he instilled confidence that this could really come to fruition. Drew exuded true professionalism as he took me through the process step by step, giving me the security and confidence that I had never felt before. I immediately felt Drew had my best interest at heart.... watching over every aspect of the project. His honest judgement calls and his ability to keep me on budget was maintained throughout the project....which if you knew me, you would know how much of a challenge that would be. This is when I realized his specialty in consulting and custom design, assisting me in the best selection of the best products, durability and staying all within my budget. Nothing got by that he was not aware of....and I loved how he kept me informed daily via email, text or phone calls....that was essential to someone like me. The entire Omega team of plumbers, framers, flooring, painting, trimming.... all performed their skills with ?A+? quality and their ability to do a first class job. I noticed each one was conscientious to give me their best. Since I hired Drew, I have heard his name mentioned in the industry countless times with nothing but positive and excellent remarks. No doubt I can see why his company has been recognized with awards...and so well deserved. My friends, co-workers and family are very pleased with the entire project, several now entering into their own projects using Omega Construction. I am thankful today that my intuitions were correct. I experienced total satisfaction in hiring Drew Dennis of Omega Construction & Design as my Contractor, giving far more than my expectations. If it was not for Drew, I would be still in the same sad situation and dreaming..... YES, I would highly recommend Omega to do any type of remodeling and new construction and I'm looking forward to my next project, my kitchen! Thanks Drew and your ?A? team for the great workmanship and professionalism!! I am a happy customer and I cant wait to show it off! ~Diane Purser

They are finishing up on the job. They are doing it from a distance and the owner has been very responsive by e-mail and Kelly in the office has been very helpful too. The painter that they sent has been very professional and has done a nice job so far. I ended up changing the scope of the job a little bit after I got started and the painter just volunteered to do some other things; he had to help us out because there was not much of painting needed. I was happy with them. I did not get estimates so I am not sure how their prices are compared to other companies but when I looked at who was available, I just felt that they seemed to stand out compared to the others in the area and also very few of the others were offering an Angie’s List discount. Their website is very good. I am going to get my kitchen and bathroom renovated at some point and I am planning get a bid from them and might use them again.
Description of Work: I am using Omega Construction and Design Inc. to get the interior of a condo painted that we just bought.
